By far the quickest way to get a good amp into a package you like best. Thanks!
Great job dude, my guitarist also turn his combo amp into a head amp, just because his speaker is blown up lol,
Aldiansyah Pratama heck yeah, it works good, and then you can match it with practically any cabinet you want to. Thanks a bunch for dropping in
Came out nice. Now you have options as far as the speaker cab
Terrific!
I think that turned out really well, what cool idea. Definitely want to see you trying this out. Cheers
good deal, I remember my favorite amp was a fender back stage, but I played through a Mesa boogie ,,wow fell in love,,and back then it was the Martin of amps....good times
Did this to my Randall KH-15 and I’m about to do it to a Peavey Bandit 112.
thatll be cool. i love the peavey bandits. i had about 5 at one time. have 2 now. one of my favorite amps. they make a head version of the bandit called "supreme" . all the knobs are backwards from the bandit though.lol. thanks for stopping in.
You could always store your Hootch in it. Lol. Just playing. Cool deal bro
Awesome video my friend great big thumbs up👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looking good 👍
cool idea, it would be a good idea to upgrade the output stage transistors, or your gonna burn them up if your speakers pull too much. maintain impedance! good job Handi!! ps. that would be a cool upgrade, and impedance switch, say from 2-4-6-8-16 rotatory switch
su pyrow that would be an awesome upgrade. Great idea. The original speaker was 4 ohm. And the two speaker cabs I been using are both 8 ohm.
Maybe it would have been better to cut right down at the bottom, that way you wouldn’t see the transition line so easily and the bottom corner protectors would attach to the top section, giving a cleaner look. But awesome amp nonetheless!
That would have made it look better for sure. Thanks for stopping in. 👍👍
good deal turned out nice
Looks good brother!!!
"The grill". Lolol made me giggle
Looks good from here right on man
Great Job.
Thanks my friend
Still haven't heard back if I can be in the band or not
Moose Knuckle Outdoors sure moose . Lol. That'll be great brother.
Very Cool! 😎
band it with plumbers strapping. do it on the inside so no one sees it . with small wood screws . or even a door hinge would work . or a couple of brackets .looks good handi . god bless brother .🎧
on that back piece handi a couple of magnets and small piece of metal on each side would work great to . that way it will stay in place for sure and you can still pull it out .
dark matter great idea my friend.
This connection does not run the risconde to force the amp? can't it spoil?
Do you remember the polarity of the speaker wires? I'm right in the middle of this mod and un hooked them without looking 😂😂
I can’t remember of the top of my head . 😂. If your speaker you’ll be plugging it into is higher wattage it should be fine to get it wrong. I’m pretty sure You’ll hear the difference . You got a 50/50 shot at getting it right . 👍👍.
@@handicamper101 right on. Thanks for the reply. Before I chop this thing up, would you do it again?
@@vinceruland9236 absolutely would do it again . I actually used it as a back up at shows just in case. There for a while I thought I was going to scour every pawn shop and scoop up as many as I could find. I sold mine on eBay for almost triple what I paid for it. Everyone wanted it . Wish I could have been more help. As a matter of fact re-reading the comments I remember that I actually had my wires reversed when I first hooked it up, and had to switch it. 😂
@@handicamper101 just finished it. Could have cut more off the cabinet to make it shorter but I'm happy with it.
Ty for the share
Nice job, how did you connect the speaker outputs to the new jack? Are they soldered or just attached in the same way as the speaker on the combo?
I just used the same clips that were attached to the speaker. Worked great. Thanks for stopping by.👍
handi camper ah perfect, nice and easy, got a Vypyr which I’m going to give the same treatment to!
Gonna do this with a Peavey Bandit
That will be awesome . The bandit transtube is one of my favorite amps. They make ahead version of the peavey transtube bandit, it’s called the supreme. You can usually Find a used one pretty cheap on guitar center. Com. Thanks for dropping in. 👍👍
@@handicamper101 found a bandit for 60 bucks at a yard sale from an older guy who was selling it for 50 but he didnt have change and said fuck it, it's cheap enough for me!
now it's my project amp I already made a head out of my Line 6 75W but did no mods to the actual body of the amp so I can run it as both a combo.
On the Line 6 I wired a line out and then kept the speaker in the box and wired a line in for the speaker as well so I can use a small 1/4 cable to run it as a combo or unplug that and run it out to a 412
plan on doing the same to the bandit and my audition 112 as well
That’s a great deal for $60. 👍👍
Looks great! How much did it end up weighing?
Between 8-10 lbs. super light weight. Thanks for stopping by. Hope your able to check out some more of my vids. 👍
Handi camper: do yo know what colour wire, on this amp, goes where, in the newly installed input jack ? I am going to do same conversion on my peavey rage , thanks
I’ll have to look. If I remember correctly. I had it backwards at first, and just switched the two, and then it worked. 50/50 chance of right the first time. Lol. Can use a volt meter to see witch is positive or negative with the tip or ring. The terminals on the speaker are labeled which wire is positive or negative.
Hey if your asking about the speaker connects positive is yellow and negative is blue. I went and bought red tape and marked them with a little flag of tape. But I just hooked them To a input jack with a pair of rubber strap locks so it’s not metal on metal and drilled a hole in the back of the chassis and got one of those 6 dollar fender speaker leads so if I want to ever run it through a different cab I can just unplug the speaker and plug the cab into it… but if u use a metal jack YOU HAVE TOUSE RUBBER WASHERS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE CHASSIS OR IT WILL GROUND OUT!!!!
Innerds? are you from Boston?
Awesome....will you be modding more?
michael walker I hope to, if I find some good deals. I would like to try doing one of the fender frontman 15's with reverb sometime.
2 and a quarter inches, mate
Eric Bute lol. Yeah,2 1/2” was the “planned” cut . The opposite side was closer. Thanks for stopping by. 👍👍
socks and crocs???
Eric Bute lol. The only way to roll.. 😂😂
We never got to hear it!
There is a part 3 with a sound test. 👍
Holy crap I dono how I missed that video. I had this idea a few days ago and wanted to see if someone else did it. The results look and sound great!
