I hate when I'm talking with my grandpa on the phone and an exorbitantly strong frontlight starts blinding me.
That's why I avoid talking to my grandparents these days
My grandpa is in hell, so the front light is also red, plus there's a smoke machine 😬

Exorbitant is such a pleasant word, we should collectively start using it more
This happens whenever my brother calls our grandparents. I would know…I am the frontlight.

Yes JFK was a big gооnеr. He was known for sitting in his private tоilеt for hours where he was keeping a personal collection of рlауbоу mаgаzines. Sometimes he was getting distracted by a professional presidential poo sniffer. He didn't mind it tho.

It’s almost Tuesday you need to do it again
That's weird, I would have expected Greek
Did you know where we get the word "Apocalypse" from?
The Book of Revelation, in Greek, is called "The Apocalypse of John."
But the word "Apocalypse" did NOT originally refer to the end of the world.
Apocalypse is a transliteration of Greek meaning "Revelation". A revealing. This vision was revealed to John, and so it was called "Revelation".
But over time, the word "apocalypse" became synonymous with the end of the world, despite the original word not even implying such a thing.

My grandmother died in her 70's in 1991. She never lived to send an email or see a web browser. I'm glad she was spared the horrors of Facebook.
As a Speed Racer fan and LBJ hater, I've been loving the relatable short-form comedy content on this platform from Man Carrying Thing, and will continue until some kind of controversy renders it socially uncomfortable to admit to doing so, upon which I shall pretend I always had a feeling he missed sometimes.
The absolute legend!
Nevermind, Man has given my comment an arbitrary sticker of recognition. I will now develop a strong personal attachment over this fleeting moment of connection and will defend him with my life against all human decency. Anyone who says he misses just doesn't understand what it's like to Carry Thing.

Talking politics with grandpa is at least straightforward and he doesn’t hide what he thinks, talking politics with grandma is a psychological game where I gotta watch out for her subtly dropping conspiracy theories and giving me books about dinosaurs not being real.
I am a Christian and synthesize it with a trust in evolutionary science and dinosaurs, probably exclusively because dinosaurs are too rad to not exist

Grandpa bringing new slurs into existence like a whimsical god
Wow, this is... too accurate. I visited them one day and had a civil discussion about trans people with my grandma, and then my grandpa shouted at me, demanding to know what I thought of diversity.
This isn't how either conversation would go, it would just be a lot of silence seeing as all my grandparents are dead
I've watched all your videos, and "NOT BECAUSE OF VIETNAM" may be the best line in any of them.
I like the genuine fear in Man’s face and voice when he says “Not because of Vietnam!?”
your grandpa sounds like the type of guy who would make a joke about Plankton farting and then dying
No one would joke about that
With me it was the exact opposite, grandpa was chill, but grandma was super racist. She once gave me a list of people I shouldn't trust and it included like 20 different ethnicities. Miss you grandma.
Ive never actually had a grandpa before, but I have an elderly coworker whose been a very valuable mentor to me. I work in wine, and he's taught me a lot. But I have had to learn to accept the fact that anything I ask him could very quickly devolve. Like one time, we had gotten into South Africa, and I got a very detailed rundown on the wines they do well and the wines they do poorly, and all of this wraps up with, "Anyway, the whole country's gone to shit simce Apartheid ended." And that was that.
And now imagine what it’s like for German people

Don’t ask your Libertarian grandpa about the civil rights act
My grandma once said she had a black friend as a kid so she wasn't trying to be racist.
My grandpa once said that we need to stop admitting immigrants entirely.

For me its my grandma, do NOT ask her what she thinks of Mussolini
Best part is formulating a 19 point explanation for the flaws in his worldview, and then realizing he got his opinions from a Fox News pundit and all of the context you learned is completely irrelevant to him.
I love these conversations, I kinda just agree with everything so my grandpa recalls stories. He’ll talk about why Reagan was the best president and then seamlessly transition into talking about protesting him all the time because he was Vice President of the General Electric Union.
Well, Oswald did open up someone's mind.
At family gatherings everyone's talking about some current event while Granddad just silently watches us all with a scowl, slightly shaking his head. Every now and then Grandmother pats his hand like she's afraid he might share an opinion. Good times.
