Torque tuned is a bad choice. Has less torque and rpm than sport tuned. I've upgraded alot of my tamiyas with RZ motor. They are great motors at a decent price and way faster than you would expect.
I don't know about going faster the front pops up a lot now with this motor, I don't want to add a bunch of weights up front in the chassis also. I think yours will run good.
I’ve got a sport tuned in my pumpkin, and a stock silver can in my lunchie. The sport tuned gets up to speed faster, and is definitely torquier but they both have the same top speed which is 21mph.
I think they are a bit faster usually kits with the silver cans run most of the time like 16 to 18mph I found, after looking back at video it does move much better now than when stock and yes like you said more power. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, It was cold and windy I think it may have been faster on a calm day it had lots of wind slowing it down maybe? it's 1/10 scale so I think 10X the MPH would be the real scale speed?
I've got the Tamiya super stock Tz with 19T pinion to go in mine, so it might have a bit of a sting in its tail. But it certainly did well with 17T though Steve.
Cool your should really rip!! Mines ok if I want to go faster I may go 19T and kyosho 550 size 14t motor I been using in my RC's lately they run fast and run cold. 👍👍
That's good for that setup..... that spot tuned motor really isn't a real upgrade...... nore is the torque tune motor...... go with a 2-3 s brushless..... but keep in mind.... if you crash at those speeds 😢😢🫣😪
Hi a 20C battery at 5400mah will run that sport tuned motor like nothing. That was not the problem the motor is not a fast motor just a little better than a stock silver can it feels more punchy and gets to speed a bit faster that's about it, It probably only goes a few MPH faster than a stock silver can kit motor that if I recall in most kits does like 17 or 18MPH.
Still pretty good Steve. I'm just wondering if you can get yourself a Tamiya Super stock RZ brushed motor? They're specced at 27,500 rpm and really good motors. I've got 2 in both a Super Hot shot and a Hot Shot 1. My Super Hot shot does 27 miles per hour or 45 kilometres per hour. Even faster than a Kyosho Fazer. Merry Christmas Buddy and a very happy new year to you and all your family and friends 👍
@@joedipietro2559 It's not that bad, If I wanted it to go faster I think I would just pop a cheap 20T motor in this or even a cheap brushless system maybe, I think it's fast enough for now maybe down the road I will make it faster who knows? the tamiya motors are nice. Happy Holidays to you 🎅🎅🎄🎄⛄⛄👍👍
Nice test Steve and a decent top speed!👍😊
I’m thinking of putting a torque tuned in mine.
It feels more powerful and a bit faster off road now. Thanks HD! test out the torque tuned see how she goes.

@@MBasher1983 Yeah the tamiya motors are nice but you can get another brand that will be much faster for less $
Yup definitely shredding 👍
It's definitely got some pep in its step now!
I thought it was booking pretty good an sounds cool 💯🏁⚡️
Yes after looking at the video of it in the grass it is moving much faster than when it was stock. Thanks
Thats not to bad Steve I am gonna give the torque tuned a try then maybe mild brushless
👋😃👍

Very cool. Good you could fix the axle issue. It runs really cool 21.5's a great result.
Yeah it has much more punch now! Thanks
Not too bad of a speed, trouble is if you put more power how hot will the motor get. That's the trouble with the DT-02 gearbox it shields the motor.
Yeah all my dt02 's I cut that half of the gear box off around the motor. 👍
I learned cold days are the most dangerous when thers curbs an jumps around 😊
Yep to RC cars and people also!

Thanks for taking us out on a cold day... wonder what the scale MPH would be?

Thats not too bad indeed
Yeah not super fast but gained much more punch when you pull the trigger! Thanks!

I bet you that wind may slow you down a bit.
You know you may be right it was windy as heck! 👍

This set up is good for this chassis I could go brushless but I would stick with 2s only 3s in this thing would be crazy! Thanks for looking.
The 20C on that battery isn't anything to write home about if you're looking for bursts of power.
