  • This one took a while to throw together, messing around with track files and what not. Had a lot of fun flying the Hind again after a long time out. It has made me consider trying out more helos in the future.
    I hope you enjoy!

Nice video! Like how you just wrap a pair of R-60s to the side in a asmytrical way lol
Small tips tho, choppers need constant cyclic trim. This is very different from fixed wing aircraft. For take-off and landing in the Hind, the neutral trimming position is on the 5 o'clock position of the cyclic position indicator, just make that square stay close to the right side of the centerline. Trim the aircraft when nearly in hover, and you can feel more confident in landing this thing. Also there is a red-guarded switch on the left side of the dashboard that can turn off the damper for your anti-torque pedals. That damper is used to damp nose movement when guiding and firing ATGMs. Turning that off can make your landing looks less drunky because you have full pedal authority and the aircraft will repond quicker to your pedal inputs.
    Enjoy the Hind!

Thanks for the advice, I usually go 5 o clock for the trim but this time it was rolling rolling violently to left so I kept it more neutral. I did have the trimmer held in landings just haven’t got the raw skill down yet lol.

Honestly might’ve convinced me to grab the Hind, it’s the struggle to control it that made the MiG-21 so appealing to me so this looks even more enticing 😅

If you was to get one helicopter it may as well be this tbh, got a bit of everything and doesn’t suck at anything.

another good heli is the ka-50 black shark it is much easier to control and is great in a/g combat. Only Problem are the iglas they just wont turn and even if they hit they won't cause much damage

A tip I learned from a real heli pilot: If possible, land and takeoff like a STOL airplane. You can touch down with some forward speed, especially with wheels. Takeoff is similar, just add enough collective to get light on the wheels and it should taxi, then you add more collective until you lift off. It makes it far easier to do those things, because hovering is hard af. Additionally, lots of helis are designed to operate this way, including the Hind and UH-60. Above certain weights it isn't even possible to hover so they have really short FARP runways for this reason.

When you drop of troops you can use the Hind's very own stop watch to keep track on when they report back (5 minutes).

Funnily enough when I went back to pick them up they wanted me to land in those mountains on the left when I was attacking the Merkavas, instead I left them to die.

You get all that footage. Meanwhile I can't get a 30s recording of a AV8B doing a VTOL without ditching itself into a tree. Good stuff mate made me laugh.

I used to shred 64's with impunity on this server with the Mi24. I figured when mire of the 64's systems and weapons came online it would even up. I'll have to try it again. Gonna be a different fight now!
