How did he manage to plan and execute this so brilliantly and cinematically? Half of the discussion was from the hotel boardwalk while the rest was intertwined with the various journeys over the whole trip. Music, pacing, scenery shots (and Francine!!). My mind has been blown by you Mr Neistat, once again. So so inspirational!

I was thinking the same thing till I realized how simple it is....say the same dialogue in all the different locations and then splice it together. As simple as it is it is still unique and very cool

I agree it is cool. But he pretty much filmed every interaction of the day and then edited to how he wanted it. Not that complicated. But he does have the tools to make it look awesome (go pro, drone, etcbetc ).
You can do it too man. Just be creative and most importantly HAVE TIME
Sandy I agree, so simple yet so effective - if done right!! I've tried doing it in my videos but it's hard to make it seem natural and to make one sentence blend into the next (as if you never stopped talking) even if you change location. And I always have to script it too - I do wonder if Casey has to do that too but he's very good at getting his point across on take 1 e.g. after the airport walkthrough timelapses

The way that Casey maintains simultaneous narratives and merges them into one cohesive message is so impressive.
His command of storytelling is so layered - despite his massive success I still think he’s underrated, and still learning and adapting his style. It’s awesome to watch his process as well as his content.

To be really honest, I much more prefer these type of vlogs over the overly edited and special effects heavy ones with Dan. These feel much more raw and natural.

It's unbelievable how well he edit's these fine vlogs. You almost feel like it's scrappy but there's always a cinematic structure to it. He sets it up so well, that just text is enough to bring it all together at the end.
I am pregnant for the first time and I feel SO identified in this video. My whole perspective of life has changed, not what I do, but a lot in how I look at things now. My health, my house, my family, my job, my time... I am so happy and so scared at the same time. It's the craziest feeling. Plus having a human baby growing in my belly. It's natural, but it is weird. WELCOME CHANGE!! :D

Watching your vlogs it gets so easy to forget the love and effort that goes into making them. Sometimes I feel like hitting the like button isn’t enough, this is one of those time so I offer up a thanks to you Casey and blessings to the fam.
Started bawling when you did that little Francine montage - my wife just had our second little girl in April and it, like you are anticipating, changed everything. I mourn the sweet times with just my first little girl who is 4 now, but at the same time, I spend more intentional time with her since the baby has forced action there. Change is good, hard, and beautiful all at once and babies are the sweetest and most ruthless forces on the earth.

I thought of my family an immovable thing once too until my grandmother passed away and my parents divorced in 2013. Now, in 2018, they're both happily remarried each to another person and happier than ever. And that was a mega change and hard, but looking back, sincerely rewarding. I appreciated the togetherness, and now appreciate multiple families in all their forms. Flowing with the change is best. And that change hasn't kept me from making good ones. Thanks for the awesome reminder, Casey.
