My favorite thing about the Fairy type is that they're cute little creatures but will reduce you to dust if you mess with them. They kinda teach ya not to underestimate things based on appearance
I think that Hatterene hides it's fairy type until the third stage because it is the signature pokemon of Bede. He was a psychic type trainer until he took over the fairy type gym. It symbolizes that plot point.
2:09:56 There’s a theory that since the Hatterene line are all female and Grimmsnarl are all male and they are both covered in hair, that they are male and female versions of the same Pokémon, kinda like Nidoking and Nidoqueen. I love that theory
1:28:18 you’re all forgetting its Pokédex entry is saying that Enamorus ends winters - meaning spring. It’s the spring Pokemon essentially too which fits with the other three’s weather and seasonal powers
1:11:47 I’ve been working on collecting every form of Alcremie. I’m at least over halfway I think. Maybe more. They’re fun because you can customize them to be whatever you want.
Autoplay put this on, and I thought for a moment it Lockstin's typing video. Love the rebalancing fairy brought in. Giving me an to put a poison or steel in my party. Favorite fairies are Slyveon or Tinkaton
I think Fairy has an advantage over Bug types because many classic depictions of fairy/ fae/ pixies end up co-habiting with insects, using them as workers and riding mounts much the same way humans use livestock animals and horses. They have some natural level of mastery over them, not enough to completely overpower or destroy them, but enough to give them some innate ability to resist being damaged by them. That's my head canon at least. Now imagine a Clefairy flying on the back of a Vikavolt and tell me that wouldn't make your day hahaha
Fairy type is my fav type. Its isnt just pinky or girlies type, there is this strong and manacing yet graceful too about fairy. the concept is great especially when come to why it the counter to dragon.. In Japan there is this stereotype or common trait in media where Fairy is the master or the one that tame/slay dragon...for example there is Fairy type in Yugioh as well where some of them have effect that weakening or dominating Dragon type.. Maybe in west it more like Dragon and Wizard/Spellcaster things
1:06:07 Zacian!!!! Whooooooo! Zacian, particularly Crown Form is the ultimate Eternatus killer. It’s immune to any super effective damage Eternatus can deal out.
In retrospective, Dachsbun should've been Arven's Pokémon given how his team was food-coded. Still waiting for a Fire/Fairy 3rd evo of Charcadet who looks like Fierce Deity from Majora's Mask. If there's a Normal Type Pokémon I can see being retyped as Fairy I feel like Castform could work.
Fairy’s aren’t inherently good by any means. Modern fairy’s are so much different to what they were originally depicted as, usually being sinister and mischievous creatures. And obviously it depends on the culture but, fairies, nymphs, elves, and even things like satyrs and merpeople fit into that category. I’d love to see an evolution of Skiddo using the moon stone and turn it into a satyr/Pan like creature that is part Fairy, but also looks sinister and dark. Or even a regional variant 🤷🏻♂️ watch something like Pans Labyrinth and it’ll completely change your interpretation of pixies and fairies
1:59:55 Primarina is also a Selki which is a water creature that looks like a seal and it can shed its skin to become human, and if you take their seal skin they’re stuck as a human.
Grimmsnarl and Hatterene are my favorite fairy types. I love that they both represent Brother Grimm tales. One being a princess Baba Yaga mix the other like an Ogre or Goblin.
I think Fairy being the counterpart to Dragon also shows a bit in the design. To me, Dragon’s tend to be a lot more masculine and Fairy’s tend to be more feminine. Now, THERE CAN BE DEVIATIONS. It’s not purely one or another, there can be outlines. But if you think of Dragon’s they have things that appeal to guys or boys. They are big, powerful, cool, edgy, like a lot of these things tend to appeal to males. But then you look at Fairy and the traits that appeal to girls is beauty, cuteness, being small, and graceful if not ethereal. Their designs tend to be opposites and could be seen a bit on the ones they chose to change to be Fairy types.
Re 4 fingers changed to 5: When Yakuza members dropped out they cut off a part of their pinky. They felt that 4 fingers was too close to this for comfort so they switched it.
You came so close to saying the correct opinion that Ampharos should be part Fairt type Dusty 😂 Great vid guys been waiting for this since the Dragon type
27:52 i so badly want a fairy type mareep convergent that mingles with regular mareep in its environment that evolves into a fairy dark wolf to play on the wolf in sheeps clothing.
I like Fairy types a lot, but I do agree they gave Fairy type to a lot of Pokémon pretty arbitrarily. But there are Pokémon that got Fairy that I think adds more flavor they wouldn't have otherwise. I like Granbull and Snubbull a lot more because they're Fairy, because otherwise they would literally just be worse Teddiursa and Ursaring. Sylveon is my favorite Fairy type. I love Togekiss. I like a lot of other Fairy types, but there's stuff like Slurpuff, Aromatisse, Shiinotic, and others that just feel weird as Fairy type.
My favorite Fairy type is Zacian, who is also my favorite Legendary Pokémon. But, since it’s nice to have something to choose that’s not a Legendary, Tinkaton is my next favorite. It was Alolan Ninetales before S/V. I also really like Grimmsnarl, Gardevoir, Hatterene, Mawile, Cutiefly, Mimikyu, Alcremie, Dedenne and Galarian Rapadash.
2:34:24 But Voltorb used to be Grass type. Hisuian Voltorb. Just like how other Grass types are just sentient plants. Then they changed over time to not be grass.
when you guys brought up togetic I was thinking the same that I thought his design was weird, but once you looked it up my opinion changed also and now I like it a lot actually😂
I don't think they *have* to do anything, but come on if you don't realize that even after the physical special split, every eeveelution has still been one of the special types then idk what to tell you. And yes, if fairy existed in Gen 1-3 it very obviously would have been special
My trainer class would Def be Fairytale Girl 😊 Worst retcon they didn't do was Meganium: grass/fairy All my teams have been a fairytale hex mix 😅 with my favs
I stand by it: Gallade should've been made Fairy/Fighting in gen 6. It's an elven warrior in my mind. Him and Gardevoir would be Arwen and Aragorn... Titania and Oberon... Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask...
I wanted to say it's Fairly Tale GIRLS because in every culture it's typically women whom are spirited away or fall for fae, fairy, yokai or spirits tricks. Or preyed upon because they are pure of heart..... or "pure" in other ways. 🙄 But i LOVED this addition to Pokémon ❤
hatterene in the anime is deceitful and mischievous, whereas it’s previous evolutions aren’t. hatterene lures people buy creating false visions of something they desire and makes them chase it until they get lost in the woods with hatterene forever. it feeds off of getting peoples hopes up and letting them down. Its pre-evolutions are nice. that is why it is fairy and the pre-evolutions aren’t
Just finished watching pokemon horizons and what if Friede is the professor in Gen 10. And we can call on the volt tacklers air ship to Travel to select ares of different regions.
I didn't like the fairy type at first because it took Clefable, Granbull and Togekiss from my Normal Mono-Runs which I did. It has grown on me since, but as Normal is my favourite type i now can't see Togekiss and Granbull as nothing more than traitors, and never use them, went from in my top 20 to in my top 500. Clefable i could understand as it's an alien anyway, plus it's a stone evolution line so i'm more okay with the change but was very annoyed as it was one of the best Pokemon for Normal type Mono-Runs. If it took Blissey from me i would hate the fairy type more than dragon type, dragon has always been my least favourite type.
I like Fairy as a type (now) but not a lot of Pokémon of that type; But, i dont really like the implementation of the type. Its such a forced type for mostly game balance that its so weird. You always need a fairy type for a balanced team, which seems so forced. My favourite fairy types are mostly the older Pokémon that received the fairy type or regional variants that are fairy types. Fairy type almost feels cheap to use honestly, specially Moonblast.
Whoooo! New episode! I think bug and grass should beat fairy! I really hope that in PLZA we get a form for Azumarril! I love the podcast, I really needed this today!

If we don’t get a fairy mega milotic, I will riot
1:19:58 Lumi not knowing “Princess Mononoke” absolutely crushed my soul.
2:09:56 There’s a theory that since the Hatterene line are all female and Grimmsnarl are all male and they are both covered in hair, that they are male and female versions of the same Pokémon, kinda like Nidoking and Nidoqueen. I love that theory

14:39 the mention of Fern Gulley warms my nostalgic heart…and reminds me how old I am.
What if there was A Spiritomb variant that was Ghost/ Fairy
These 2 & 1/2 hours flew by listening this morning, thanks for remaining consistent! My favorite part about going to work Thursday mornings lol
Thanks for listening and being here with us every week. Honestly warms our hearts
I fall asleep while watching it. I'mma rewatch it.
You know its gonna be funny when soul says you can probably cut this part but dusty just keeps going 😂
1:11:47 I’ve been working on collecting every form of Alcremie. I’m at least over halfway I think. Maybe more. They’re fun because you can customize them to be whatever you want.

Makes me think of Thumbalina
Fairy type is my fav type.

Must be fresh paint or something in the new house if Dusty is seeing little creatures dancing around at night 🤣
What if they're real, and he wants them gone?
@@MoramothHauntzit’d be some interesting lore😂. That’s another Patreon episode lol
In retrospective, Dachsbun should've been Arven's Pokémon given how his team was food-coded.

yesss that makes so much sense. And its a 100x a better pokemon lol
1:16:26 Chang’e has a pretty decent kids movie about her. Called “Over the Moon” and it’s on Netflix.
Fairy’s aren’t inherently good by any means. Modern fairy’s are so much different to what they were originally depicted as, usually being sinister and mischievous creatures. Is a Chinese or Japanese legend about a moon goddess and her husband and something about a moon rabbit Clefairy is the moon rabbit😊
Ohhhh hell yeaaaaaah!! The return of the "MOUTHHOLE". Gotta love Dusty
39:05 to 39:58 Lumi just unlocked some old memories in me from my childhood
Teasing me with that Gen 7 tier list mention 😭. Great video, even with that tease!🤣
Grimmsnarl and Hatterene are my favorite fairy types. I love that they both represent Brother Grimm tales. One being a princess Baba Yaga mix the other like an Ogre or Goblin.

I really feel old listening to Lumiosepost not getting the pop culture references that the others are talking about haha! Great podcast!

Great vid guys been waiting for this since the Dragon type
the best fairy type is whimsicott, hands down
thats cuz its the best goat
flutter mane. iron valiant. zacian. xerneas. best fairies. grimmsnarl is cool.
Not
1:08:43 I mean, the King of the Faeries is Oberon. Not sure if any Pokémon match that description. Closest would be Calyrex.
27:52 i so badly want a fairy type mareep convergent that mingles with regular mareep in its environment that evolves into a fairy dark wolf to play on the wolf in sheeps clothing.

Missed this one when I went "I will watch the type veidos first."
Did you know the puppets they used in Rudolph came from Japan? There’s an antiques roadshow bit about it.
My favorite Fairy type is Zacian, who is also my favorite Legendary Pokémon. But, since it’s nice to have something to choose that’s not a Legendary, Tinkaton is my next favorite. 11:13 I mean it is true if you think about it. It would’ve been special for the same reason as Psychic.
1:02:55 And cotton candy is also called fairy floss
Still praying for my Dragon Eevee!! Sylveon needs a counterpart! 🤩
when you guys brought up togetic I was thinking the same that I thought his design was weird, but once you looked it up my opinion changed also and now I like it a lot actually😂
I want 2 new types so we can have 20 types.
YES

Worst retcon they didn't do was
Meganium: grass/fairy
All my teams have been a fairytale hex mix 😅 with my favs
Loved this video!!!! Now I need one for all the types 🤩🫣
Thank you! We did the dragon type earlier this year. What type should we do next?
I stand by it: Gallade should've been made Fairy/Fighting in gen 6. It's an elven warrior in my mind. Him and Gardevoir would be Arwen and Aragorn... Titania and Oberon... Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask...
Sugar and spice and everything nice
Beauty and grace will be your demise
I can’t wait for another tier list!
I wanted to say it's Fairly Tale GIRLS because in every culture it's typically women whom are spirited away or fall for fae, fairy, yokai or spirits tricks. Or preyed upon because they are pure of heart..... or "pure" in other ways. 🙄
But i LOVED this addition to Pokémon ❤
*milk-ery *alk-rem-ee
Is it just me that thinks Togekiss looks and sounds like an alien? Like wtf is that faint sound
What looks cute can be a Fairy-type.
can’t wait for the gen 7 tier list 🥰
hatterene in the anime is deceitful and mischievous, whereas it’s previous evolutions aren’t. hatterene lures people buy creating false visions of something they desire and makes them chase it until they get lost in the woods with hatterene forever. it feeds off of getting peoples hopes up and letting them down. Milcery is sentient Moomoo milk lmao 1:09:39
Just finished watching pokemon horizons and what if Friede is the professor in Gen 10. And we can call on the volt tacklers air ship to Travel to select ares of different regions.
Mega Klinklang will soon be real and steel fairy type hahaha 😝
You guys haven't done a Gen 7 tier list yet🥲
They have Mr mime another finger…they should have left it with 4 fingers. IT’S TOO HUMANOID ALREADY
Fairy types are usually my favorites😅
oh hey Dusty’s new house 👀
Paradox steel type eeveelution called Iron Floof
Primarina is based on a Selkie, not a Siren
Could we finally get a new type introduction again!?
I didn't like the fairy type at first because it took Clefable, Granbull and Togekiss from my Normal Mono-Runs which I did.
It has grown on me since, but as Normal is my favourite type i now can't see Togekiss and Granbull as nothing more than traitors, and never use them, went from in my top 20 to in my top 500.

Dragon used to be weak to steel as well
Also you guys have the best podcast!
Thank you! 💙💚❤️
A light type would make sense. That would give a reason for them to show us arcues real form. He would have to be light being a " God " or the "god"
1:14:23 rainbow swirl erasure
Ayo s/o Slurp Dogg
My favourite type....
Has Dusty been lifting?
KAMEN RIDER EVOLT
To true lol
Skitty needs to be a fairy type like its useless but it makes sense 😂
Whoooo! New episode! I think bug and grass should beat fairy! I really hope that in PLZA we get a form for Azumarril!
I love the podcast, I really needed this today!
Thank you for your support! We are so proud to be able to be a special part of your day. Have a great day today! 💙💚❤️
I disliked because the togetic hate is too much without any valid reasons 😭
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT LUMI WAS ALWAYS AGAINST IT!
