Nice to see you put that video again. @4:47 the guy with the red cap is me! I always smile whenever you use that footage and i see myself in the frame with that Insta360 camera.
Hi again😊 You could have been the first subscriber to find me in Japan at the time😂 Anyway, I really appreciated that you watched my videos again and commented on my channel! Thank you😁
Thank you for another good video! I encourage foreign visitors to actually do their research and not rely on social media by western "influencers" as their only source for information about Japan. Japan is a busy society in progress. I like how quiet the trains are and I would advise to be mindful to use "indoor voices" if talking at all. So, quiet rather than silence. Talking on cell phone on the trains seems like a no no and I agree with that. I would add do remember that in shops and restaurants staff don't really make small talk with customers and places are often busy so be respectful of that as a foreign visitor, that was something unexpected that I learned. And don't exploit places to post them on Instagram, support ethical travel.
Thank you for watching again😉 Sometimes, visiting a popular spot on SNS is good but, you can find your best places if you search well in advance😊 We Japanese really don't make small talk anywhere and it's getting harder to make it nowadays😲 Many things have been getting changed so that's also a reason people need to research in advance for a better trip😎
I would love to visit Japan! It's been on my bucket list for years now. The way I see it, there are cultural traditions and then there are stereotypes.
I had similar experiences when visiting Bulgaria in south-eastern Europe a few years back. I am Norwegian, I do not speak much Bulgarian except the few phrases I managed to learn while preparing for the trip. Nobody there spoke my Norwegian language, but the surprising part was that almost much everybody under 30 years old understood English. They just didn't want to speak it. So I had no problems communicating, I just had to combine a few languages and get used to pointing a lot. :)
Thank you for watching😁 Yeah, sometimes, to communicate in another language is simple. What we need isn't making a sentence but, use just words with gestures😊💯
Myth: A trip to Japan is cheap. It is, once you get there, but no-one tells you the cost of airfares. Those are expensive. Myth: You can buy chain store foods anywhere. I will have to take a train from my hotel into the suburbs to get to the nearest conveyor sushi shop. It's the same with almost all the chain eateries. You do not see that on RUclips! This shop access myth applies to other chains like Book Off, Hard-Off etc. Not as common as you are led to believe. Myth: 'Japanese Efficiency'. This is a huge myth! Myth: 'Japanese Politeness/Warmth/Friendliness'. Honne and Tatemae... if you are trying to make friends, this is a sad discovery. Someone you think is your friend may actually dislike you and you will never know.
Honne and Tatema are one of the darkest sides of Japanese people. So it's sometimes better you don't know the term😂 Thank you for watching and for your comment😉
Some myths I heard that aren't true. 1.there is no trash on the streets. While the streets are pretty clean compared to many other places, there is trash around. 2. Japanese people always stand in orderly lines. This for sure isn't true, same line structure as USA, and getting on the subway people often disregard the lines. 3. All the food in Japan is good, this is certainly not true. There were some bad foods for sure when I went.
No, Canada is hardly expensive. It's extortionate! So is the United States! People in Europe complain about the cost of living until I show them the price of necessities in North America. Then they stop complaining.
What's your biggest myth in Japan? 😎 Thank you for watching every time😘

I wish I would have just turned around and met you in person. Of course I wasn’t a subscriber then. But now I am your biggest subscriber for ever. 😊

Don't go cashless if you do that credit card companies will have the power over what can be sold and bought
