Welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 after auditioning at the age of 7. She has over 130 covers and several original songs on RUclips. That song is titled Million Miles and was written for her late grandfather and dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one. Angelina always performs barefoot because when she was 6 years old she was on vacation in the Middle East with her grandmother and she met a young girl about her age weighing people on a bathroom scale to make money. Angelina and the girl spoke for a while. It was cold outside and Angelina noticed the girl had no shoes and scars on her feet. Angelina took off her own shoes and gave them to the girl. Angelina has vowed to never where shoes when she performs until all of the world's children have clothes and shoes. Angelina has stayed true to that vow for 8 years. Angelina has raised millions of dollars for children's charities, has sang at the Nobel Peace Prize concert, and sang for Quincy Jones at his 85th birthday at his request. I will say there has never been and probably never be another Angelina Jordan Astar. She outperforms most of the past stars of our musical history from the 1930’s to the present. @@103mrg you are correct. She said she was seven when she was talking to Heidi when she appeared on AGT and she auditioned for NGT when she was seven but by the time the show wrapped she had turned 8.
@@philgaringer9065 Since the show was taped in 2019, had she answered 8, it would have meant she was 14 (and not 13). Either her age winning NGT or her singing BR had to change to make the math work when the show aired in 2020.
With todays young singers comes belting and a run for the highest notes. With Angelina you get something completely different. You will dig into her soul, and her incredible understanding and feel for music. She is clearly unique, and has no match today in my opinion. Shane you were correct when you said Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy and is the only prodigy I know of that specializes in vocals. With all the natural talent Angelina devotes most of her waking hours to improve. When she performed "I Put a Spell On You" at the age of 9 years 2 months, she showed her genius for arranging songs. Angelina has always created her own arrangements even at age 6. As talented as Angelina Jordan is, she is an even better human being, always performing barefoot and here is the story how that started. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriended this girl who was wearing soiled clothing and no shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.

Angelina is a prodigy. She was in the recording studio at age 6 (her first tries) and improved exponentially from there. You can watch her improve from the first song she sang for Norway's Got Talent through the last song she sings. Rusty Shackleford has a chronological list and encourages new reviewers to start at NGT or "I Who Have Nothing" , at age 6, and move forward. She is multi-talented and has no problem singing in front of a large audience.
She is deeply intuitive about the music, as you will discover in her arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody", but she's been devotedly working at her craft since age 5. After regular school she has been attending music & performing arts schools at least since age 6 where the recording of "I Who Have No One" was made. Her family moved to L.A. for school when teachers in Norway said they had nothing more to offer her. But she is gifted in many ways...Her grandparents native languages were Farsi, Japanese (these two lived with her family), and Swedish. She grew up in Norway, and was already reading lyrics in English at 6! She is learning to play piano, guitar, and flute. And where does all that natural compassion come from? Excellent reaction. Great perception. She was definitely gifted but she has put the work in to hone her craft since she was 6 years old, so at this point she already has honed her craft. She has videos performing in a studio since age 6 and has released over 100 videos since. You will notice jazz influences in nearly every song as jazz is her forte. You will see her sing "Summertime" in one of her performances on Norway's Got Talent at age 8. She performs many of the old time greats like Ella and Billie Holiday and more current jazz artists like Amy Winehouse. She has been arranging all of her songs since 8 years old. She wrote her first song at age 11with "What Is Life" and has a few other originals. You will be amazed watching her growth from 6 years old. Her true talent is how she interprets songs and presents them to the listener, where you FEEL the song. It can be an emotional experience. Great reaction 🙏 Always interesting to see someone that’s new to Angelina. Oh yes she has practiced an insane amount. She’s been singing since she was 18 months old. But there is a lot more to her than just practice. Her voice has had that mature quality since her audition on Norway’s Got Talent at 7 (and even before that). And she’s born with some kind of built in confidence. Nothing seems to make her nervous. She composes and arranges songs too. She’s destined to achieve wonderful things 🤩
Adding a second comment to provide additional background - At an outdoor concert in Summer 2019 in Prøysenhuset, Norway, Angelina performed a 14 song set. She sang two of her original songs (one twice including the encore), and covered Frank Sinatra, Amy Winehouse (2), Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday, Adele, Rihanna, Ella Fitzgerald (2), and Elvis. Each one flawlessly, and her covers were performed with total respect for the original artists. Not copies, but covers respectfully incorporating Angelina's style and interpretation. She chops and changes her style, but it’s still her. Do listen to her version of I Put a Spell On You, Black and White version. Other singers have said the level of control and musicality she has should take decades, so there is definitely talent.

You can have all the natural talent in the world, but if you don't put in the work, you'll never be truely great. You can put in all the work in the world, but if you don't have talent, you'll never be truely great. There are a precious few that are gifted with a special talent and put in the work to improve that talent that are true artists. I believe Angelina is in that last group. This is only 1 of her many styles, genre & voices. To me, she's the most incredible vocalist of my lifetime. I know that sounds crazy, but if you listen to 30-40 of her 132 songs on YT, you will begin to understand. She takes old classics & re-arranges them, to make them new & her own. She emotes, or makes you feel the emotion of the lyrics, better than any other singer I've seen. She has 4 originals & her latest, called Million Miles, is the 1st under her new record label. She definitely makes the most of this Sara Bareilles arrangement. I believe most of her other covers that have a clearly different arrangement than the original or most popular version are largely, if not exclusively, her own arrangements. Ones of particular note are Bohemian Rhapsody, which she also performed at AGT, I Put A Spell On You (Black & White Version), California Dreaming, Wicked Game, Wake Me Up- tribute to Avicii, Natural Woman- tribute to Aretha Franklin, Happier. For many of these she strips down the accompaniment and slows down the tempo. These are just a few examples. No matter which arrangement she chooses for any given song, she uses her voice to bring out the meaning and emotions of the lyrics in a way that others simply cannot match. In AGT she got Heidi's golden buzzer with an epic version of " Bohemian Rapsody" "that got her directly to the finals. Recently she released a new masterpiece, " million miles " under Republic records label. Though Angie's usually doing her own arrangement coices, this arrangement is from an earlier cover by Sarah Bareilles. You instincts are about right, she's not 14 in this. She was in fact only only 13 ;-) The show has been pre-recorded in October 2019. I think there's one thing that is simply talent which is conveying emotions. Very few singer can do that. "I put a Spell on you" is the right way to go next to get some impression of her early raw talent. Consequently she toned it down a lot in later performances of that song to protect her voice. And yes she's writing her own music, 4 originals so far. Do you have an even touch the tip of the iceberg yet, she is quite possibly the best female vocalist on the planet right now, no joke. She always performs barefoot because when she was six years old she met another little girl without shoes who was homeless, she gave her her shoes and told her she would never perform again wearing shoes until all the children of the world had shoes. She was 9 for I put a spell, but her fame began with Norway's got Talent aged 7-8. You'll be hooked whatever your first exposure is. She'll be 15 on Jan 10 2021.... AGT limits auditions to about 2 minutes, so songs have to be fit into that sort of time frame. She does all her own arrangements. She started at about 1 1/2 yrs old. Yes she writes songs as well.
Start at Norway s got talent and her first audition. I'm a fool to want you (a Capella) to get into the show then Gloomy Sunday, Summertime (Billy Holiday) and also Bang Bang. All won her the show..... Since she has been in many many jazz festivals and concerts around Europe. She loved Jazz so much I would think both Natural and work. and most importantly the love of singing. She write her own songs. (Million Miles most recent) and as for the arrangements. All of her arrangements are her own. She tells the musicians what she wants and of course they comply. She also have fab. musicians.
She has two videos of Summer Time- one from Norway's Got Talent 2014 at age 8 and in 2016 with KORK at age 10. Both times her approach is similar to that of Ella Fitzgerald, but each performance is significantly different from the other. It'd be worth your time to do a double reaction. My favorite of hers in the Ella cycle is Every Time We Say Goodbye- roof top performance on TV2. Her biggest influence according to her is Billie Holiday. She first received world wide attention at NGT by singing Gloomy Sunday at age 7. Natural talent is no substitition for practice and hard work, but it makes all the work more fun and rewarding, keeps you motivated and improves the end result - and now you know from a moderately talented musician who put in a moderate amount of work and became moderately good. 😉 None of that moderation applies to the supertalented and hard-working Angelina Jordan. BEWARE! This is a long comment. I hope you have the patience to read to the end. Thank you for discovering and reacting my favourite singer. America's Got Talent The champions was recorded in October 2019 but not released for public view until 6 Jan 2020. So at the time of the performance Angelina would have been 13 years and nine months of age (she was born 10 Jan 2006) My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven-year-old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7-year-old was still there, but the voice wasn't. Or was it? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on RUclips and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. From the first time I listened to her, with the lights centralizing her, the just hinted musical carpet (so different from the original song) and her yellow / orange dress perfectly in character, it completely captured me. All of this 2020 AGT champions were recorded in October of 2019 so she is13 here. When this was on TV she was already working on a new album and did a vocal for an original for TRXD an EDM group, the song is "Above The Water" . She has since signed with Republic Records in August and released the1st song off the album on November 6, 2020

The studio one is just a complete shock because of the style, but my preference is the live one. I wish to draw to your attention a young Soprano singer by the name of Amira Willighagen who won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine without a single singing lesson. Welcome to the world of Angelina Jordan. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 after auditioning at the age of 7. She has over 130 covers and several original songs on RUclips. She is currently 14 years old (15 on 1/10/2021). She recently signed with Republic Records and recently released her first single under that label. That song is titled Million Miles and was written for her late grandfather and dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one.
Angelina always performs barefoot because when she was 6 years old she was on vacation in the Middle East with her grandmother and she met a young girl about her age weighing people on a bathroom scale to make money. Angelina and the girl spoke for a while. It was cold outside and Angelina noticed the girl had no shoes and scars on her feet. Angelina took off her own shoes and gave them to the girl. Angelina has vowed to never where shoes when she performs until all of the world's children have clothes and shoes. Angelina has stayed true to that vow for 8 years.
Angelina has raised millions of dollars for children's charities, has sang at the Nobel Peace Prize concert, and sang for Quincy Jones at his 85th birthday at his request. I consider to be the greatest vocalist of all time, and she is just getting started.

She has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance.

Since winning Norway's Got Talent at the age of 7, Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. @@103mrg you are correct. She said she was seven when she was talking to Heidi when she appeared on AGT and she auditioned for NGT when she was seven but by the time the show wrapped she had turned 8.
@@philgaringer9065 Since the show was taped in 2019, had she answered 8, it would have meant she was 14 (and not 13). Either her age winning NGT or her singing BR had to change to make the math work when the show aired in 2020.
With todays young singers comes belting and a run for the highest notes. With Angelina you get something completely different. You will dig into her soul, and her incredible understanding and feel for music. She is clearly unique, and has no match today in my opinion. Shane you were correct when you said Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy and is the only prodigy I know of that specializes in vocals. With all the natural talent Angelina devotes most of her waking hours to improve. When she performed "I Put a Spell On You" at the age of 9 years 2 months, she showed her genius for arranging songs. Angelina has always created her own arrangements even at age 6. As talented as Angelina Jordan is, she is an even better human being, always performing barefoot and here is the story how that started.
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina befriended this girl who was wearing soiled clothing and no shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina so moved by the poor girl, took off her favorite sea green ankle boots and gave them to the poor shoeless girl. Angelina promised the girl she would perform barefoot until every child on Earth has shoes. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.

Angelina is a prodigy. She was in the recording studio at age 6 (her first tries) and improved exponentially from there. You can watch her improve from the first song she sang for Norway's Got Talent through the last song she sings. Rusty Shackleford has a chronological list and encourages new reviewers to start at NGT or "I Who Have Nothing" , at age 6, and move forward. She is multi-talented and has no problem singing in front of a large audience.
She is deeply intuitive about the music, as you will discover in her arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody", but she's been devotedly working at her craft since age 5. After regular school she has been attending music & performing arts schools at least since age 6 where the recording of "I Who Have No One" was made. Her family moved to L.A. for school when teachers in Norway said they had nothing more to offer her. But she is gifted in many ways...Her grandparents native languages were Farsi, Japanese (these two lived with her family), and Swedish. She grew up in Norway, and was already reading lyrics in English at 6! She is learning to play piano, guitar, and flute. And where does all that natural compassion come from? In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").

Excellent reaction. Great perception. She was definitely gifted but she has put the work in to hone her craft since she was 6 years old, so at this point she already has honed her craft. She has videos performing in a studio since age 6 and has released over 100 videos since. You will notice jazz influences in nearly every song as jazz is her forte. You will see her sing "Summertime" in one of her performances on Norway's Got Talent at age 8. She performs many of the old time greats like Ella and Billie Holiday and more current jazz artists like Amy Winehouse. She has been arranging all of her songs since 8 years old. She wrote her first song at age 11with "What Is Life" and has a few other originals. You will be amazed watching her growth from 6 years old. Her true talent is how she interprets songs and presents them to the listener, where you FEEL the song. It can be an emotional experience. A good starting point is NGT and I Put A Spell On You (the black and white version). After that you're on your way to a fun ride! Thanks for the genuine reaction and expect many of her followers.

Great reaction 🙏 Always interesting to see someone that’s new to Angelina. Oh yes she has practiced an insane amount. She’s been singing since she was 18 months old. But there is a lot more to her than just practice. Her voice has had that mature quality since her audition on Norway’s Got Talent at 7 (and even before that). And she’s born with some kind of built in confidence. Nothing seems to make her nervous. She composes and arranges songs too. She’s destined to achieve wonderful things 🤩
Adding a second comment to provide additional background - At an outdoor concert in Summer 2019 in Prøysenhuset, Norway, Angelina performed a 14 song set. She sang two of her original songs (one twice including the encore), and covered Frank Sinatra, Amy Winehouse (2), Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday, Adele, Rihanna, Ella Fitzgerald (2), and Elvis. Each one flawlessly, and her covers were performed with total respect for the original artists. Not copies, but covers respectfully incorporating Angelina's style and interpretation. Concerning talent / practice: Angelina knows exactly what she wants when it comes to music. She invested a lot of hard work developing her skills beginning from a young age. I think talent in combination with practice and strict will can result such a singer like Angelina.

Other singers have said the level of control and musicality she has should take decades, so there is definitely talent.

- Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 130 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.

She once said "when I sing I go into a beautiful world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.
Update: On Aug 26, 2020 Angelina's Manager/Uncle announced in an interview that they have decided on Republic Records as the best fit for Angelina and she is now signed with them as their "highest priority new artist". On Nov 6 she has released her first single under Republic... "Million Miles"! She has done so much already, but at 14 she is just getting started!!!
You can have all the natural talent in the world, but if you don't put in the work, you'll never be truely great. You can put in all the work in the world, but if you don't have talent, you'll never be truely great. There are a precious few that are gifted with a special talent and put in the work to improve that talent that are true artists. I believe Angelina is in that last group.

I believe she started vocal training at the age of 3 or 4 according to Angelina.
This arrangement was actually from Sara Bereilles (ruclips.net/video/eAti8JNmJi8/видео.html). Angelina's initial performance on AGT was her own arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and she went on to perform Lewis Capaldi's "Someone You Love" for the final exhibition performance on the show. She also has a recent original release through her new record company (Republic Records) called " Million Miles". Angelina, as always, does "retouch" Sara's arrangement at a work of art level added to the abysmal voice difference between the two (Sara Bareilles has a very beautiful voice, let's say it's another level). She definitely makes the most of this Sara Bareilles arrangement. I believe most of her other covers that have a clearly different arrangement than the original or most popular version are largely, if not exclusively, her own arrangements. Ones of particular note are Bohemian Rhapsody, which she also performed at AGT, I Put A Spell On You (Black & White Version), California Dreaming, Wicked Game, Wake Me Up- tribute to Avicii, Natural Woman- tribute to Aretha Franklin, Happier. For many of these she strips down the accompaniment and slows down the tempo. These are just a few examples. No matter which arrangement she chooses for any given song, she uses her voice to bring out the meaning and emotions of the lyrics in a way that others simply cannot match. Probably the best jazz singer right now. If i may, i suggest you to check her performing live at any age. For sure you will appreciate her rendipgo tje great jazz standards like " cry me a river". In AGT she got Heidi's golden buzzer with an epic version of " Bohemian Rapsody" "that got her directly to the finals. Recently she released a new masterpiece, " million miles " under Republic records label. Hearing her sing especially when she was 8 years old at Norway Got Talent you actually start to believe in reincarnation. I put a spell on you is unbelievable especially when you think she was just 9 years old there. To see little child with voice and ability to interpret a jazz song making you believe you hear someone with the maturity in at least their 40s is mind-blowing.

There's not much I can add to what my fellow Angelina fans already said regarding her innate understanding of music, her unique voice, her career, her professionalism, her charity work, and her caring and humble personality.Because there's so much about Angelina Jordan to learn, she is like an onion with many, many layers to discover.
There's one thing I would like to say is that she is a storyteller with an unbelievable ability to take the listener on a journey with each song she performs. As one of the AGT judges said, she hypnotizes you with her voice and presence and gets directly to your heart never to leave.

I think there's one thing that is simply talent which is conveying emotions. Very few singer can do that.

That one still drives vocal coaches into a fit due to the shortcuts she had to take with her vocals at age of 9. Consequently she toned it down a lot in later performances of that song to protect her voice.
And yes she's writing her own music, 4 originals so far. We expect her first album out of her recent label deal with Republic Records to be landing soon. She's already stormed Norways Itunes charts with her latest song. And yes, she did several versions of Summertime - all the way from a simple guitarre backing to a full symphonic orchestra.
Sarah's version is nothing like Angelina's version. I just listened to both back to back a few times and there's no resemblance.

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (130+ covers and original songs - all on YT) and you will see! It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Billie Holiday to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Queen to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Etta James to Amy Winehouse to Miley Cyrus (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She was 9 for I put a spell, but her fame began with Norway's got Talent aged 7-8. You'll be hooked whatever your first exposure is. She'll be 15 on Jan 10 2021.... AGT limits auditions to about 2 minutes, so songs have to be fit into that sort of time frame. She does all her own arrangements. She started at about 1 1/2 yrs old. Yes she writes songs as well.
Start at Norway s got talent and her first audition. I'm a fool to want you (a Capella) to get into the show then Gloomy Sunday, Summertime (Billy Holiday) and also Bang Bang. All won her the show..... Since she has been in many many jazz festivals and concerts around Europe. She loved Jazz so much I would think both Natural and work. and most importantly the love of singing. She write her own songs. (Million Miles most recent) and as for the arrangements. All of her arrangements are her own. She tells the musicians what she wants and of course they comply. She also have fab. musicians.
She has two videos of Summer Time- one from Norway's Got Talent 2014 at age 8 and in 2016 with KORK at age 10. Both times her approach is similar to that of Ella Fitzgerald, but each performance is significantly different from the other. It'd be worth your time to do a double reaction.
My favorite of hers in the Ella cycle is Every Time We Say Goodbye- roof top performance on TV2.
Her biggest influence according to her is Billie Holiday. She first received world wide attention at NGT by singing Gloomy Sunday at age 7. Natural talent is no substitition for practice and hard work, but it makes all the work more fun and rewarding, keeps you motivated and improves the end result - and now you know from a moderately talented musician who put in a moderate amount of work and became moderately good. 😉 None of that moderation applies to the supertalented and hard-working Angelina Jordan. I have no idea (and don’t care about) her commercial “stardom”, but as an artist she’ll be one for the ages.

BEWARE! This is a long comment. I hope you have the patience to read to the end. Thank you for discovering and reacting my favourite singer.
America's Got Talent The champions was recorded in October 2019 but not released for public view until 6 Jan 2020. So at the time of the performance Angelina would have been 13 years and nine months of age (she was born 10 Jan 2006)
My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". What did I see? Well, it was a seven-year-old child, with wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. And that was when the normal perception ended and things turned upside down. She confidently answered the questions put to her by a Judge. Declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and then started singing. The body of the 7-year-old was still there, but the voice wasn't. Or was it? I was surprised then and that surprise is still with me, some six years later.
I have followed her career since I saw that first video on RUclips and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener.
As I have noted above, I have been following her career a long time and have listened to every interview she has given and every documentary about her and every performance she has ever given. What stands out for me is how a very shy and humble girl in her normal life, can be transformed into the perfect vehicle for the song she has chosen to sing, once she starts to sing.
Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. If you go to ruclips.net/channel/UChM_lpT4shdnsez93QMJPig you will find many rehearsals where, not only do you get to see her rehearsing but being the "ordinary" girl she is (if indeed one is able to apply that adjective to her). Most of her performances are recorded in her home studio, either with background music or a single guitar. Most are done in one take. She treats the whole thing as a hobby. As we would have said when I was young. "There is no 'side' to her" She is completely transparent to the world.
Perhaps you would like to go back a few years and work forward. By doing so, you will come to the realisation that she is "unique" and I don't use that word loosely. There is truly no other singer who has her versatility and sheer ability to communicate the emotions of a song to her listeners. I doubt there is another singer who works so hard to ensure that, when she sings the song, it is sung in such a way that her listener becomes enmeshed in the emotions

I really liked this version of the song of hers, so soft, melancholic and slowed down and with those fantastic vocal games that really changed this old Elton John song, even if she started from the version, perhaps not very well known, by Sara Bareilles. From the first time I listened to her, with the lights centralizing her, the just hinted musical carpet (so different from the original song) and her yellow / orange dress perfectly in character, it completely captured me. All of this 2020 AGT champions were recorded in October of 2019 so she is13 here. When this was on TV she was already working on a new album and did a vocal for an original for TRXD an EDM group, the song is "Above The Water" . She has since signed with Republic Records in August and released the1st song off the album on November 6, 2020

Angelina is a combination of natural talent, extremely supportive parents and a strong moral and work ethic.

Angelina is a gifted prodigy and there are songs online from Norway's Got Talent starting at 7 years old. She actually started singing at one and a half! she is also put in a lot of hard work in addition to her natural gift. There is no other singer like her in the world currently.

I wish to draw to your attention a young Soprano singer by the name of Amira Willighagen who won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine without a single singing lesson. She taught herself “Opera” by watching the likes of Pavarotti on uTube.
Your music genre may not be Opera/Classical, but here is another Prodigy & although opera was not my music genre, I listen to her every day without fail. If you’re kind enough to react to this magnificent Soprano, may I ask you to start near the beginning when she was invited by world renown conductor Andre Rieu to perform O Mio Babbino Caro with an audience of 15,000.
She has since performed in 13 countries and many to a packed auditorium supported by a full orchestra and backup singers.
