...such a nice idea to combine the 3 mvts with dance and the rhythm of castanets! Bravo! It works so good! And a brilliant live performance by you both, - the violin part: Menuet I&II and Bourée: intonation is so incredibly difficult, my pure admiration - sooo: well done! 5* for the collabration! Chris :)
been taking music history and i think its important that people should respect that this music did come out of this culture of dance and that you should at least be aware that this music is related to its dances its ok to separate the two, but to have an awareness adds a layer of appreciation
Wonderful! I love that you posted this. I am actually going to do a collaboration with dancers and the partita 3. Modern dancers with a sense of baroque. I'll be watching more of these videos! :)
Dommage la jupe de la danseuse est bien trop courte, c'est une jupe de dessous, la jupe terminale doit descendre jusqu'au bas, et dans le même tissus que le haut./
Yes, and I'm a bit dubious of the depth of the colors and shades. Beautiful as they are together, my understanding is that turquoise fabric dye in particular requires an anilline fixative for stability--and that fixative wasn't discovered until the late 1800s--so a century or more later. I'm also unaware of any documentation for castanets in the dance suite dances.
the bourree and gigue are so beautiful played, and the small trills in there just stand out as a very pretty addition, made me smile throughout
Beautiful rendition!

It was absolutely beautiful, but I question the location of the dance - in front of the tabernacle? a little too sacred for me.
À dance is quite worldly, isn’t it. The setting should be a palace.
