Hands down one of my favorite parts of the movie... timeless comedy. So many lines i quote from this movie on a daily basis and after 20 years from first seeing it i still laugh so hard
I've always said, a sign of one getting older is laughing at the things your parents laughed at. So I could be watching a movie or a cartoon and remember my mom or dad laughing at something particular but I didn't laugh or get it. Now, I tend to laugh at everything they laughed at. Awesome
Absolutely, see him looking off camera laughing at the start of the mannequin scene. Surprised they left it in but was probably the best take they could use lol.
@@hector-sauvage LOL, yeah. Rodney just restarted his lines and the director just left the take as is. I bet it was fun as hell working with Rodney Dangerfield.
Lowkey one of my favorite movies of all time...I have basically the entire movie down...i love how rodney at first talks to the dummy...then has to switch to the real dude :)
first time my parents left my little sister and me home together, my mom rented some Nintendo games and VHS tapes for us while she and my dad had dinner and a movie night w friends. Different world back then. My sister was in her single digit years, I'm barely in my double digits, and my mom says, "make sure you watch this movie, it's hysterical." It's been one of my favorites ever since.
This movie is bust-out laughs! I watch it every year or 2 and it never gets old! Never thought an oddball pairing like Pesci and Dangerfield could pull this off but they were insanely good!
I worked with a young woman named Jane from Queens who told me when she was 10 yrs old she was playing in the revolving doors at Abraham and Stauss and she got her head stuck. They had to stop all the shoppers at lunchtime and wait for the head engineer and his men to return from lunch. This was in the 1960's, no cell phones. They had to dismantle the big , heavy revolving doors. piece by piece. I think they were part brass. She said it was so humiliating, people starting at her .Her neck got wedged somehow so, they couldn't move the doors. I shopped there a few times. It was a beautiful store in downtown Brooklyn, NYC. I think it was on Hoyt Schemmerhorn Streets She was facing the sidewalk and she said a crowd of about 400 people just gathered to stare at her. Her mother had gone there to shop.
. When you mention the mother, I thought you were going to say the mother continued shopping and came back for her later 😂 I'm over here cracking up at that thought ! .
a family favorite...my dad and I doing couple of browsers routine when ever shopping!!... father & daughter memories easy money style!!!... maybe I'm half browser, on his father's side🤣👍
My best friend owns a shirt that looks like one of the shirts the bald guy shows Joe Pesci. Every time I see him wearing it I ask him if he has any mens shirts for men!
Great funny 80s movie...Rodney dangerfield had me rolling 1st time I watched this.....alot funny movie lines...he belongs in a gang ..it's a good boys,..cmon, rose, see him for who he is.....hilarious....
The store they filmed some of the movie in was the old Abraham & Straus / or A&S ,,,,, Downtown Brooklyn on Fulton Street . That was some beautiful Department Store when I was a little kid in a early 60s , and even going into the 70s it maintained its prominence and charm, the last time I was in there was around 79 , I know it's under new management and a different name , I heard it's nothing like it used to be , but anyway ,,,,,, just thought I'd throw some information out there , great movie and I think I've seen it 4 x since it came out .
Imagine acting in a movie where you spend most of your role hanging out with Rodney Dangerfield laughing at his jokes.
I'm sure any actor who was around the same time as Rodney when he was at the top of his game, would've jumped at the opportunity. I know I would have!
After watching this movie this morning, all I can say is that this man was a true comedy GENUIS.
How about riding in a van with him smoking a joint with a big cake in the back. THAT is a day at work my friend🤣
Whaddayou mean jokes? Like jokes how?
TRUE THAT !!!!!!!!
" One more word out of you and he gets it " lmao
LOL
Rodney: "What are these, antiques?"
Joe: "No....those are the customers."
Oh God! 18th Century!
"Do you have any mens' shirts for men?" 🤣🤣🤣
have you tried the army navy store....lmao
That question was legendary!
I would have answered: So do you wanna buy some for your man? Maybe your boyfriend!
I wonder if that is where Letterkenny got the line nice onesie does it come in men's oh I think you come in men all the time
Do you have anything in a dark black!?

Rodney deserves a Criterion boxset. The man's catalogue should be celebrated.
Pesci's most underrated role.
That SUPER
As well as Rodney's!

Joe Pesci's laughs were genuine in this. That's how good Rodney was.
Easiest role he ever played in his life: walk around with one of the funniest comedians of his generation, laughing at his antics.

I revisited this movie last night. The jokes were still funny in 2021.
Good film.
“Do you have something in a dark black?” is what I ask EVERYTIME I actually go clothes shopping.
Funny film.
80s style.
Pesci and Dangerfield should have done more comedy films together.
He wants something he can wear 4 or 5 days in a row.

I'm watching in 2021. Rodney Dangerfield and Joe Pesci go together perfectly!
I love Joe Pesci's reaction when the bald headed guy come out from under the counter. I bet there are some great outtakes that we will never see,
Joe Pesci lost it when the guy pops up from behind the counter
I never noticed that before lol
"No thanks...just browsing". I use that line every time I am in a store and a worker asks me if I need any help with something.
Wink, thumbs up! ;)
Yeah I used tell people I was just browsing whenever I went to the store as a kid . For some reason they never believe me
You must not look like a browser. Not even, half browser, from your father's side.
“One more word out of you and he gets it. Alright?”
I love Joe Pesci's laugh 😄
Got it from his Mother. .
when the dual mannequin double appeared and said I don't think so Joe pesci came very close to breaking character.
“Hey lady, if we buy two odds will ya show us your end?” AFI Top 100 movie quotes missed one there.
