    In short you really explore the immense capacity of groove agent. This was very helpful . Thanks.

    I've come back to this vid at least four times now to get reminded how to make GA adjust volumes/pans etc of samples stacked on one pad seperately. It just won't stick in my memory. This is the most rediculously unintuitive "feature" of GA I have come across, it makes steam come out of my ears every time I hit this problem. How I will ever remember that "Forget Automation" has anything to do with adjusting volumes serparately I don't know. Or if I ever will. This is about the only video I know of that actually explains how it works. So thank heavens for it, I say.

      Yeah it's not intuitive at all. I made this video not that long ago and when I first read your comment I had no idea what you were referring to when you said "forget automation". I know when you're working in PAD mode you can tweak parameters independently, But if you're in SEL mode, just remember there's a little info description at the very bottom of GA that describes the "forget automation" thing, so if you're stuck again look for that info/description.

    Excellent video, thank you. I’ve used GA since it came out, now using the SE5 which comes with Cubase 10.5. Very powerful tool and you showed me several New and good ways to use it.

    Great tutorial! Regarding Layers on a Pad.... I cannot get basic settings like Vol/Pan/Coarse/Fine to be modified independently on the Pad. When I set the Mode to Layer, I could 'SEL' each pad and modify only some attributes independently... for example, on Pitch tab, I could use the PItch shaper and set the levels independently and some knobs are independent, but if I use Coarse/Fine knobs, it is applied to both layers. the Random, Vel et al knobs. could all be tweaked independently. Just seems odd that my Vol/Pan/Coarse/Fine could only be applied to the entire pad? Thank you!

    Have you found a good way around the missing triplets function inside GA!?

    Some now use the Cubase sample tracks for the drums, which has the advantage that you are a little more flexible and the samples are also in the project.
    With the Groove Agent you would have to save the kit with the samples in any case?

  • @Ledjent
    @Ledjent 4 года назад

    Oh wow that is superb! Also on anther note how did you set cubase to automatically assign colours to the tracks that you're creating automatically after dropping audio samples?

    • @VintiqueSound
      @VintiqueSound  4 года назад

      In the preferences you can select whether it assigns random colors to each track it creates, or assigns a dedicated color based on the type of track that's created. Edit > Preferences > User Interface > Track Type Defaults, and for random colors it's User Interface > Track & MixConsole Channel Colors > Auto Track/Channel Color Mode (there's a few options to choose from)

    In terms of your own customized kits, the most important thing is that you should backup all your sample files to more than two drives. Once you lose them, then they won't come back to you shortly. It could happen and it really happened to me one time, which made me depressed for even one month.

    • @VintiqueSound
      @VintiqueSound  4 года назад

      Damn that sucks. Yes I definitely highly recommend everyone to have a very well thought out backup strategy. Either online backups that are really convenient and easy (though more costly), or a strategy like I've done, which is having a connected hard drive dedicated only to backup the entire computer, then a portable USB hard drive to do the same and backup the entire computer and keep in your home, and a second portable USB hard drive that you can keep at a family member's or good friend's home so that if all the worst things happen, like home fire/flood or everything gets stolen, you have a complete backup of your entire computer & files.

      So wait, are you saying that if you use Snare1 on Pad1, from a folder on your Desktop called Snares, and then move the Snares folder to Documents, it'll no longer be on Pad1?

    hey thanks a lot for the tutorial, however my ' file browser ' in cubase doesn't show any file, only folder. On the other hand it shows the ' Loop And Samples ' section with all the libraries..... I just can't open a single wav files in the 'file browser'

      @@dirkpauwels3649 typical Steiny / Yamaha bugs. They should reprogram the whole thing in my opinion. All those tiny little buttons, some of them work, some don't.... plus most plugins I install don't show presets anymore. It's getting so confusing.....

      @@dirkpauwels3649 oh, and I forgot to add this : I wonder if Steinberg realize how UGLY that 'Vst Rack' thing is ? Terrible GUI. And I'm a Cubase user from 2000. Such a pity for an amazing DAW

    • @VintiqueSound
      @VintiqueSound  6 лет назад

      There's 16 buses in total and it only displays 4 at a time. Just below the "Mixer" button, when you've selected "Agent" you'll see the numbers 1, 2, 3, & 4 to your right. You can flip between banks of 4 buses at a time (1 thru 4, 5 thru 8, 9 thru 12, & 13 thru 16 respectively).

    Your lining up the "phase" is amplitude waves and NOT phase... BTW and would have NO bearing on a completely different sound...

    can we do this on Reaper?

    • @VintiqueSound

      Do what on Reaper? You can use Groove Agent as a VST/AU/AAX insert plugin, or as a standalone.
