      It depends on the woman too. Alot of woman wont stand for that. Not every woman would think its their fault.

    • @nicodifictional540
      @nicodifictional540 6 лет назад +82

      Taylor T it's not about dealing with it, abusive people just manage to sort of groom their victims and a lot of people who always said they'd never let anyone hurt them do sometimes end up in situations they can't get out of

    • @bluebubble229
      @bluebubble229 6 лет назад +5

      It depends on the type of person as well. Not everyone would be like that. If someone hit me I’m out of there.

    • @nicodifictional540
      @nicodifictional540 6 лет назад +60

      Taylor T keep thinking like that. Don't forget though that a lot of strong women have been abused. If you put a frog in boiling hot water it'll jump out, but if you put it in cold water and let it slowly start to boil it stays there until it dies. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's going on in the moment.

    • @alking7655
      @alking7655 5 лет назад +26

      That's what can happen in abusive relationships, whether it's physical or emotional. The victim can start to believe it instead of doubting because they can feel trapped that they won't be loved or accepted by anyone else.

      Yeah I know why you like Sue jus because of the size of her heart ❤️ and it's also true that there is a lot of people who hate Sue and what we see here in this very vid clip actually does shows that Sue does shows her true colours like what you say that she has, but the thing is that this thing here like what we see in this vid clip is a very very rare moment, but the other part is that Sue shouldn't be tearing down the glee club for what it is and it's better to let the glee club to stay surviving and Sue should be a bodyguard for the glee club instead of actually tearing down the glee club and everything would have a better start and it would have a better storyline of new things that's happening

    I love the relationship between Beiste and Sue in this scene; coach Roz is great too especially telling her to show her husband who's boss, but Sue - despite how much she packs a punch most of the time - knows in this scene how important it is to show compassion and comfort towards someone who is hurting inside and out and is one of the most redeeming things about her but I love her regardless of whoever she is.

    Shannon reminds me of my science teacher from 6th grade. She had that same body type and the strong voice and yelled when she was angry but she is one of my favorite teachers. Whenever we had a doubt or were curious about something she'd do anything to teach help us, she wasn't like the other teachers that say we can ask questions and then they never want answer or don't have time to do so. And she was so sweet and funny and always made jokes with us and was an excellent teacher, (no one failed science that year) and she even let us take a lesson ti throw her a birthday party. I loved her and all her other students did so too.

    This hit home on so many levels. Sure, this is acting, but the pain is very well portrayed.
    My mother has been a victim of domestic violence in the past when she was still with my father. I wasn't born yet, so I never actually saw what he did, the consequences would only be seen later, when I was as good as punched out of my mother, three months early. This in turn would lead to my Cerebral Palsey.
    Anyway, she was afraid of him, but she was just as afraid of leaving him. One night, my aunt literally ran with mom to her house, which was next to ours at the time. Then, months later, she left him for good, taking me with her.
    Once I was old enough to understand what dad did, my mother always told me: "When your future husband even lifts his hand up to hit you, leave him. Because once he did it, he'll do it again."
    And to this day, I will never forget.

    This scene is a classic version of self shaming. “I should have done the dishes. I should forgive him. He’s the only one who loves me.” And it’s so sad. No one deserves to be screamed at and made to feel unsafe in their own home. And no one, absolutely no one deserves to get hit. I hate that victims blame themselves and then become ashamed when they realize they shouldn’t blame themselves. It’s okay. It was never your fault. And you have nothing to be ashamed of.

    i hate the knee jerk reaction a lot of people have to large strong people getting abused being "i mean you're strong just hit back" because that's not the issue. anyone getting attacked is a hard thing to deal with even if they can fight back but especially when its a loved one and its about way more than being physically able to protect yourself. its about taking advantage of how well you know that person, that love and vulnerability and devotion you have with another person and the want and need to maintain that relationship and make the other person happy. just like coach bieste here, often times even if someone can, they wont fight back because of the relationship or they are simply not violent people. a tiny weak 5'2 person could physically abuse a muscular 6'5 person and it would be as horrific and should be taken just as serious as the other way around. its not about what they had the capability to do or could have done to protect themselves, its just terrible that that happened to them in the first place and that someone they love would do that to them. regardless of how outwardly strong they are, they did not deserve that and it is not on them to make sure their loved one doesn't try to abuse them anymore. i really loved sues reaction because it had nothing to do with telling bieste to kick his ass (which he would absolutely have totally had coming) but just about making sure she was safe and ok and away from that dynamic. everyone deserves

      THANK YOU. This bugged me so much. I work with these people. If it was as easy as socking them back, do you think domestic violence would be so prevalent? When I started in the sector I'd be saying the same thing, "just punch them back!" So glad to see that there's at least some attempt here to show it's not that simple.

    As a girl with a muscular build, im not girly, im usually stuck in oversized clothes because clothes that fit just maked me look buff and i dont think i can pull of girly clothes plus thats just not me. Im always one of the guys. In stores, ive always been mistaken for a man because i have pcos so i have a shadow of a manstache. Im not into girls so im not transitioning but this is the same fear i have. What if no man can love me? No man can treat me like a lady? I believe in a strong independent woman and all but i still do wanna be loved by a man. Shanons character made me realize all that and apparently this has been the root of most of my insecturities.

      I always hated that storyline, they clearly ran out of ideas and wanted to get brownie points, but Beiste being transgender totally ruined all of the development the character had in the earlier seasons.

      @@kiahmadison8541 Exactly why it was wrong! The trans storyline reinforced cultural assumptions and prejudices - a large, strong woman must be trans and secretly desire to be a man. That's a load of cr$%p! This storyline shows her subject to the same internal struggles as any woman in an abusive relationship. Then they throw that out the window.
      But regardless of whether we agree on the value of her storylines, I can agree that she deserved every Emmy nomination, and should have won at least once.

      @@michaelelliott8350 I've been in an abusive situation, that Has nothing to do with someones gender identity. Some strong people born into female bodies do turn out to be transgender or genderfluid/nonbinary and don't look like that. Some do. I have to disagree. I don't think every stereotype is always wrong. Sometimes it has a basis just not as a rule.

    People make fun of Sue for the tent line but I think it's perfectly Sue - she was showing Beiste that nothing in their relationship had changed, she didn't think of her any differently. It's great.

    I truly love Sue. Yeah, she might be harsh and say a lot of uncalled for things, and have a weird obsession with Klaine. But when things actually matter and people are actually hurt, she shows that she is a kind person. For example, when Kurt was getting bullied, she stepped down from being the principal to protect him.
