hawks defense has potential to be special again very soon. If they hit on some guys early in this draft, which I believe they will, watch out. Will have great players at every level. Just need a Thib/Jermaine Johnson or lockdown corner like Sauce or Sting
I think he gets dinged a lot for his poor pass coverage in zone. He gave up like over 1k yards. He's gonna be a beast at middle linebacker this year tho
@@brus3460 really tough to put any of that on the players. The inability to stop the opposing passing game was largely due to the scheme the defense was running, or trying to run but failing horribly. He's perfectly fine in zone coverage. Add that to his elite speed and above average gap discipline/play rec he's going to be great for a long time
@@zachrichardson5581 idk how you can say he's good in zone when he's been roasted in zone for his first two years in the NFL. Two years ago they literally had to flip KJ to strong side lb and rotate out Brooks and put Neal in on 3rds for passing downs. I think out of all interior linebackers he was like second to last only behind Queen. Yeah some of it was due to our bend but don't break scheme and him covering wide receivers at times but not all of it. He's really solid in man coverage and showed that in college and in the NFL but he's never played well in zone. Please provide some evidence for his proficiency at zone coverage. Also, to be clear, I'm really high on Brooks. I think he immediately is an upgrade over Wagner at middle linebacker. He's an elite run stopper and playing at middle lb will allow him to focus more on the run and put him less into zone coverage. Edit: an upgrade over Wagner today, not prime Wagner!
@@brus3460 my evidence at this moment is that there were no blatant standout examples of him specifically having a difficult time in zone more so than the whole defense. I think your logic can be almost equally applied to the whole defense outside of the d line because I saw zone issues with various players in various situations. Typically if a player has a specific problem that jumps off the screen. Similar to a player having a specific exceptional talent. Both the unusually good and unusually bad stand out to me while watching film. In Brook's case I did not see him fail significantly more than the overall defense.
Welcome to Miami!
My opinion of this draft pick has changed a lot since 2020 lol
man idk how anyone didnt like this pick haha. I watched the tape after they drafted him and was like yeah he fits right in. Stud player
Yeah when they drafted I was like bruh but now he’s like one of my favorite players

@@brus3460 also to be clear I didn't say he was good I said he was perfectly fine in zone coverage. Meaning not good and not bad but serviceable.
You take out LB well take yours ...Go Hawks !!!
So this y they released Bobby Wagner
I went to highschool with Brooks. I don't really remember him.
