Excellent video! Though the view shown at 0:11 with the two round tanks is part of the plant to the south of the plant shown in the rest of the video. That plant to the south is still operational as a terminal, though the kiln and crusher are no longer used to make cement. Both plants are owned by Lehigh. There was a third plant just to the north that was St. Lawrence Cement, which was bought by Holcim. Then Holcim demolished the plant and merged with Lafarge, who just built a new plant at their Ravena location. I haul/have hauled out of all of these plant locations and I park my truck at the Lehigh Cementon facility.
Joseph Scott. Do you know if there are any trails going up to the water quarries? Not the main rode into the quarry area. Or a way into that area? Thanks!!
@@ElectricSegwayX260girl there are no trails because it is all posted private property. They don't want anyone on the property because of liability and they do have people arrested, I've seen it a few times over the years. It's sad, they used to allow people to hunt on the property, until, I was told, several years ago when someone slipped on some ice and sued. I don't know what the outcome of that was. Personally I would love to hike the properties, but they have trail cams up in various spots and unmarked vehicles that randomly patrol, so I just stick with the areas I work in. Now, I'm not telling you to do this, but if you're determined to try, your best bet would be from Kolar/Quarry Rd or Brick Schoolhouse Rd off of Old Kings Highway to get in the quarry. But you risk being arrested for trespassing.
They have cameras up and have people they catch arrested. The property is owned by Lehigh, who also owns the plant just to the south that is still operational as a terminal. The Cementon properties don't really have an office to contact. If you want to try contacting someone, you would have to call the Lehigh office in Glen's Falls NY. They oversee Cementon.

Nice footage. Nice that most of the structure is still standing.
This place looks awesome, nice footage
I think my Uncle Frank Scrodanus worked there decades ago He and Aunt Margaret lived on Maple Street in Cementon NY near the river
Did you explore this place? If so, how did you get in?
@@EmpireDroneWorks I'm aware, just wondering if there's a hole in the fence somewhere.
@@Chris-.- Chris, what do you mean?
A trip down memory lane. I worked there from ‘73-‘80. I believe it was shuttered around ‘85.
I wouldn't try it without permission if I were you. They have cameras in use and they DO have people arrested.
Does anyone know a way to get in? Trying to record and take pictures, won’t vandalize and ruin it for others. It’d be greatly appreciated :)
