I just had a surgery a k wire surgery to align after having this boxers fracture yesterday and and it was the same week I treated immediately, right now I'm in a cast so I just want to make sure that I'm going to the right path as I treated really fast I did the surgery very fast
Why did my dumb doctor not give me an option of resetting it? Its clearly deformed and I specifically asked for it to be numbed and reset properly, all I got were nurses who didn’t know the order to put the splint on, the doctor wanted to just send me out the door as fast as possible to get my cast on. Am I an asshole or am I being treated like shit?
Sorry to hear about your injury. Not all injuries are the same - some can be reset and some need surgery. I’m an advocate of getting a second opinion if you don’t like the 1st. Be proactive in order to understand what you can do. Good luck!
I had a boxer’s fracture, the doctor realigned my metacarpal (said the surgery was not necessary) and put it in a cast. He said to wear the cast for at least 4 weeks. Do you think it is too long?
Bones take 4-6 weeks for clinical healing so … 4 weeks is not too long. Watch my other boxers videos to show you how you can still move or should be able to move.

I have had a straight cast for 2 weeks, just got switched to a bent finger cast. I'm scared that I waited too long
It’s okay. Work with a trusted hand therapist and keep working towards getting results.
