It's great that Laleh's music is getting more known, but somehow I still wished I could keep this song for myself because of what it has come to represent... Selfish, I know!

Laleh is truly unique. This song helped Norway through the PTSD of Utöya and Oslo.

It's nine in the morning, and I'm bawling my eyes out.
I used to live in this slightly rough suburb in Stockholm, and one year around New Years I counted all the friends and acquaintances who had passed that year. Most of them because of addiction.
When I had counted ten, I just gave up.
But listening to this song, and remembering all those people. It doesn't make things make more sense, but it just...honours them?
It's such a deep, ravaging and confusing heap of emotions.
And I own those shitty emotions, because I'm still here. So I *have* to own them! ❤

Yeah one more thing. Laleh doesn’t just perform the song.. she wrote the song, and she produced it..

Was a big hit in Norway .. The terrorist attack on Utøya and the government quarter in Norway was still an open wound. That she sang at the Nobel Peace Prize concert was absolutely correct. Beautiful song and a great lady. 😀 ♥ ️

Have had a terrible day today. But it turned now and how happy I became. Laleh. Came from Iran when she was ten years old and has become a giant in Sweden. She sings mostly in Swedish but also in English some of her songs have become classics here at home. The pop song was written and produced by Laleh, and comes after her appearance on Swedish reality television show So Much Better. Lyrically, the song discusses the loss of a loved one but also the need to give up following this and holding out hope that things will eventually get better. The song has been credited as an unofficial soundtrack for those who lost people in the 2011 Norwegian attacks at utöya and Oslo. She presented this at Utöya, but I thought it was too emotional and she had a hard time holding back. She does not resemble AURORA's appearance. But in terms of lyrics (often brief, concise and emotional osv. ) and that she likes to make hand gestures. Yes now I am happy again my friend. Thanks for that.....but you missed little after... thing in the video

She told in a documentary about this song that it was inspired about her mother's cancer. It happened to coincide with the Utøya massacre and as many Norwegian here has said: it became the healing song for them.
There is no name for how beloved Laleh is in Sweden (and in Norway too after this, I guess).
She never hesitates to speak about death, in a healthy way, in her songs. Loyalty, especially to oneself is another main theme of hers. One song is completely about the importance of gratitude. She´s very spiritual.
Interesting fact: she her own producer. After her break-through year she won a Swedish grammy for best upcoming artist, best female artist AND best producer. In a country where artists like Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and many more of their caliber choose to produce their music. Isn´t that impressive?
A spot-on reaction, you got it instantly! Very intuitive of you.

She is a genious that dares paint with a wide brush AND be detailed in same time.
    Some interesting facts:
She co-wrote and produced Demi Lovatos two best songs "Father" and "Stone Cold" while she took a time out and went to Los Angeles and worked for Max Martin in his studios. First time i heard Stone Cold I had to go look if she was involved and she was.
Her father drowned while he saved a woman from drowning in 1994.
She co-wrote and produced the Adam Lambert hit song "Welcome to the show"
She has sold platinum in Sweden several times.

Awesome to watch your reactions ur so funny 😆 and so up to date (about the attack in 22nd of July 2011). Laleh has a lot of good music. Norwegians and Swedes like to compete about almost everything. But we call each others brothers or neighbours ;)

The lyrics are based on Lalehs life story, her brother died only 12 years old, her father died when he tried to rescue two women from drowning.....

She is genius. In a way you can draw a line between her and Angelina Jordan. She is a kurd/iranian. Angelina has her iranian roots thru her grandma. As a swede I am proud of both. I don't know if Laleh lives i LA any longer as Angelina does. Just wonder if they have met.

Unfortunately, it looks like the thought of some people dying young, makes both Laleh and parts of the audience happy. Feels very weird. This song , for a Scandinavian, is forever connected to what happened at Utøya July 22, 2011. In this context it also should be about all the people that die too young because of the consequences of war.
