So here is my question. TACPs are conventional, so If TACP candidates have to do the same PAST as CCTs, PJs, and SR which are part of AFSOC, why not just go to those AFSCs?
@jpisback TACP are conventional, my friend. I have a ton of TACP friends at the 165th, which is maybe 15 mins from 1st Bat. They do absolutely NO training with them, only with the conventional guys. In order to be SOF, you apply and go to selection. Roughly 80% of TACP will remain conventional their careers
Well I am an ex TACP, the main issue is due to the air force trying to hide the special ops, and the ARMY legit patented Special Forces. The reason why SEAL’s are special operations and not “Forces”. The USAF HAS more special operations per capita per branch. The USAF special tactics/warfare are the most legit best in the world.

TACPs Are AFSOF. They mostly are joint with conventional units as air support, but the top 10% are grouped with GBs and Seals.
