The great thing about his shows is that he tells so many jokes that you have forgotten most of them before you even get half-way, so you watch it over and over and still laugh at jokes you could swear weren't there the last time you saw the show.
He is bloody great, just a naturally extremely funny man. To me he ranks with people like Tommy Cooper and Frankie Howerd. Pure, daft and very funny comedy.
Yes, his wife must have felt very lost indeed having to watch people laugh at him on TV, surrounding him in validation and adoration, just before he came home and gave her a good battering.. Fuck that cowardly woman beater and his fake underbite.. I'm glad I saw him start snoring on live TV now.. Bet she was too..
I've just moved from watching some of the most offensive jokes ever by Jimmy Carr to the far more innocent Tim Vine. I smiled a little at Jimmy Carr. I literally laughed out loud at Tim Vine. Being funny without being offensive is a rare skill - and far harder than smut and bad language.
Carr reminds me of someone who was bullied a lot at school and has become snarky and cynical in his response. He's chosen to react that way with his material
I can't elaborate on your point without saying how I feel about stand up in general: I was never one for stand up. To me for the most part its just a guy with a microphone on stage gossiping cynically about this n' that for half an hour or more. Not talentless but not worth the money either. The only stand up I like on the whole is Rowan Atkinson since he puts on actual performances (not what you'd call stand up) and like you say, there are certain moments of Tim Vine that get me laughing a lot.
His vocals are a slightly changed Too Much Heaven by the Bee Gees. The backing is something else because I'm guessing he didn't have the rights to a direct copy.
+Robbie Wallace Yes he is a genuinely nice guy - I think that's a real element of his success because the audience like him and want him to do well! I've been to two of his theatre shows now and he just instantly puts the audience at ease and takes them along with him - it's just a really nice atmosphere!
Is that seriously all you have to say? "He doesn't swear." So by your standards, he doesn't have to have any talent at all or be the slightest bit funny or entertaining, so long as he doesn't swear? Grow the fuck up. If a dude's funny, he's funny. Doesn't matter if he swears or not. But if that's your only take away is that he doesn't swear, then maybe comedy isn't your thing. Maybe Bob Ross is more your speed. Or the PTL club.
Torchure put me at de edge of de cliff and 'nothin we're not a real shop' sent me cleanly off haha he always slays me no matter how many times i hear even his old stuff as well
Wasn’t laughing at all. The boxing glove turned out to be a torch. I lost it. Well done. Edit: 4 years later and I still come back to this video often. It’s the vid that got me into Tim’s stand up and I’m so grateful for it. I still can’t pick up a torch without my daughter pointing it out 😂🤷♂️
The only thing that annoys me about this video is that the red semaphore signals either side of the stage aren't supposed to have notched ends? Or something along those lines.
I went to my local Indian restaurant the other day n I asked for the chicken tarka. The waiter said don't u mean chicken tikka sir? I said no it's like chicken tikka only it's a little otter!

+vinny142 It astounds me how he can rattle them off so quickly. An insanely talented man.
I laugh at the ones I DO remember too though.. I'm only here BECAUSE ''the answer is - it's a torch'' . lol
Tim Vine's work is art. Sublime, surreal art. It has a rhythm. One which is somehow so familiar and inevitable ... but actually uniquely his.
Tim Vine is the king of dad jokes. Or mum jokes, doesn't really matter, it's all relative
even flow don't forget Tommy cooper, the man who inspired Tim
even flow that was brilliant
wow i read this exactly when he said it, so trippy 😂
No profanity and safe for all ages
Mum? You don't say.
Oh look at this comment section- oh its a torch 🔦

Who would've thought torches would be so funny?

I walked through a flea market the other day and I tell you I was itching to get out of there.
I just came back from a 'once in a lifetime holiday'.... Never again!
I fell off the catwalk whilst modelling a pair of crimson gloves. Luckily someone saved me. I was caught red handed.
