Complaints that Adam doesn't perform the "original" or "official" version of the songs during live performances? I am always fascinated by his various versions. I love being surprised and amazed by his ability to ad lib. He wrote it so as far as I am concerned, he can rewrite it anytime and as he pleases. Maybe we don't need to sing along. Perhaps we should just listen? I think he's a certifiable genius...

August and Everything After was the first CD I bought. I appreciate how Adam reinterprets and adlibs his songs, they are living and breathing... the studio versions are exactly that, a snapshot in time. Just like before the studio versions there were more raw versions.. Like the Himalayans version.. Maybe its me but the studio versions will always be there, just like your favourite movies will be there if its ever remade and updated, i guess i dont get the hate for variations of a live performance. You sing a song 5 times or 50 times or 500 timesthe same way, same speed, same tone and tell me you still love it..

There are literally 100s of different versions of this song, I'm not sure how you fully decided. 🤣 Personally I love the version on their live DVD where they did their full debut album live, the openly of this sing while seeing his silhouette appear in the darkness was so powerful and effective.

i actually kind of wish they'd just do 'thunder road' as a standalone number. it's a great version and it's not like they abridge the song or anything. played with 'rain king' is a cool combo, but it's a rare band that can cover the 'born to run' era this well--might as well play it straight and include the beautiful outro.

I JUST read this story TODAY where this insane crazy-looking guy who vaguely looks like Ed Sheeran convinced 3 different churches that he was Ed Sheeen and even played a song at one for $35 and a sandwich and looking at the cover of this I feel the same way like some random homeless guy got on stage and fooled everyone into thinking that he was the lead singer of Counting Crows.

They didnt release it. This is from the crows nest, it is/was a community of fans. I was actually involved in this. We voted the best live version of every song and that ended up as a compilation. Uploader shouldve mention that!!!!!!

OK for me this album is spoken word brilliant not before or after has any band ever achieved this . I still listen over and over beautiful perfect . But I don't like this live version AT ALL way too much improvisation too much extra shit that just kills ruins the touching heartfelt sorrow and joy of studio takes. To be honest everything they put out after this is well......bogie shit you can't ever top the brilliance of the first album...sorry mega fans but you know I'm right I just have the nuts to say it
Adam live... oh boy, I personally find him difficult to handle. he improvises melodically-------- and the result is rarely tasteful or pleasant, and at times in this collection he's even off key. try singing your original melodies. the album is epic, in part, because of the melodies. sing them. don't be afraid. the bridge of round here is the perfect example on this recording. god it's awful. sing the record melodies Adam.
