0:10 What they fail to mention in this tutorial is that you need significant excess of wrapping paper for the length since you will use that to create the bottom of the bag and all the top folds. And you need a thick/dense , high quality paper, otherwise, the thinner, cheaper papers will not hold this shape and they will tear easily. My experience? I've tried this a few times.

... i bought wrapping paper from the dollar tree.. and it worked just fine
It worked for me. Just a tip the shiny paper holds its shape better than matte. I got mine from dollar tree. Happy wrapping! 👋

Double sided tape... just use single sided tape and roll it over itself. Voila.

Really how was it hard? Honestly just curious what you had trouble with. Cause I watched the video and made it in under a min an a half.
It's easy though, i learned this at my Art Class.
I used craft paper and created a tag to hang off a hole punch up top of the bag, along with a hanging chocolate ornament. Super nice looking.
I just did this with a life size, huge stuffed wolf and I am beyond proud of myself 🥲

If you don't have double sided tape just fold your tape into a cylinder similar to a toilet paper roll with the sticky part on the outside. It will act like a pseudo double sided tape

One thing for sure, if you are going to make gift bags, make sure its heavy stock paper. Tried it with regular wrap and it shapes up but tears pretty easy.

I have 12+ gifts to give and I didn’t want to waste money buying boxes for them and they were too small to just use a shoe box so this is such a life saver!
i legibly cut out random pieces of cereal boxes and glue/tape them together to make a box bc i got no skill to do this 💀

Mine worked out fine with dollar tree wrapping paper, I did not have double sided tape so I used regular clear scotch tape. Who cares if you can see the tape if you look closely, the packaging will be all ripped off anyways. :)

I did it with no double sided tape I just put it on the put side I had to search this up so I could wrap my dog's presents 🎁 🎁 They are sweet I really liked this life hack it helps a lot Tysm

This really helped and my gift looks great!
I guess it doesn’t work for harder objects?? I wasted hours trying to make this bag twice with some cute wrapping paper. and it looked fine. Then I put my sons present in it and it looked awful and worse than my normal wrapping skills😭😂 there were no clean lines and corners of the box were poking out all over the place. I’ll just settle for an ugly looking gift bag 😭😭
You can fold the paper first for it to be thicker and sturdier?
Maybe put cardboard on these base first?
Did you make this wrap to put a box that could have been wrapped in it?
Perhaps you could buy an ugly gift bag, cut and tape the wrapping paper on the front & back sides of the bag? I hope this helps you!
