Sara Bareilles - Live Vocal Range (C3-G5/B5-E6)

- Sara's overall vocal range! I tried to use a wide variety of performances, ranging from a video of Sara in junior high school, to a scream she let out in an interview a few days ago.
After completing the project I noticed that one of the flaws of this video is that I included mostly sustained notes (especially in the C#5 section). I'm aware that it may annoy some people, but I believe these are some of her most impressive moments as a vocalist.
This is the hardest I've ever worked on a project. I must have listened to hundreds, if not a thousand performances over the past 10 months while doing homework/during my free time. Thanks for watching!

A truly underrated and underappreciated vocalist
Great video btw!!!
Highnotes. aremydrug thank you!
agree. I didn't knew her but she''s amazing
Her vocals being underrated and underappreciated is matched by her songwriting skills being underrated and underappreciated.
100th like and i fucking agree
She is so underrated, she can easily hang with celion dion, Beyonce Mariah, her sustains belts are powerful and crisp
The B5 doesn't sound mixed. She nice column of support from like F3/F#3-Eb5/E5, some of her F5s weren't all bad though. She struggles a bit with nasality and her vowel shaping, something that's been present her whole career but has gotten better. It just means her notes aren't always as open as they could be. But wow, A4-D5 is>>>
MrSkinnyJeanz3 I always appreciate your comments, thank you! I agree, A4-D5 is my favorite part of her belting range.
MrSkinnyJeanz3 what most people consider nasality is way to alleviate pressure off of the larynx. It allows the sound to be more ‘heady’ and whilst an overemphasis of this can be present in a lot of singers voices I don’t think hers is excessive. Just putting in my two cents. Please don’t get mad lol
MrSkinnyJeanz3 the support is actually F3/F#3-E5 since she consistently supports E5.
It's E3-E5-G5 at her best.
No clue what's happening here lol
Oh my god, that first sustained F5😦
First note of the C3 section dips on B2.
I did NOT know she could do that. Get it in, girl! GET IT IN!
She's so perfect! 😍😍😍
I love everything about her voice and music!
Her belts from G4-E5 are so beautifully resonated!
She luks like mezzo version of sohyang.
They are both sopranos
Her comfortable most resonated tones/notes are in Alto range imo. So by that she is an alto? But like her range is crazy! Her tone is more mezzo. So I'm confused haha.. She is so talented and I just love her!
Soprano
Her tone is very light and soprano-like
She's phenomenal wow
Finally made it through the whole video. Yay you. Not jealous. Just..wishing I could focus on some one, not some things.
Interesting, in her book Sounds Like Me, (2015) she said the Eb in "Brave" is the very top of her register, but she's clearing singing above that.
I have this feeling that many singers underrate their actual potential and vocal ability and clearly Sara is guilty of that haha
SuperDerezzed could she possibly have meant the top of her supported register? cause I know just around there (Eb5-E5) is where she loses support
@@NaShea955 I don't think she loses support at Eb5-E5, it feels more like a change in registers. I think she went from chest to mix, or if she was already in a chest mix, she added more head voice, making it sound headier, lighter, but it's still a mix. It's better for the voice that trying to pull chest voice higher.
But I would agree on the fact that since 7:55, it's exclamations, or singing for fun in what seems more like a masked head voice, not a mix.
What performance is 8:15 from? I need to find that version of Gravity
Sorry I'm so late! I'll search around for it, but if I can't find it on RUclips I'll re-upload the video so you can see/hear it.
Here, at around 1:12 ruclips.net/video/e8oYTzorzps/видео.html
That B2👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Her complete range is A2-G5-E6
@Sara Bareilles ?
It's A2-B5-E6.
@Sara Bareilles A2, then A3. Quick, but it's there.
Uploader: where did you get those rare videos of her like singing at a wedding?
9:05
Where's the Eb6 from?
galaxyseal it's from a video of her mimicking the audience's whistling during her cover of "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay" from quite a few years ago!
"they're all assholes and we gotta learn to let it go" what song is that at 0:56 !?!?
Buenvenida André thank you!!!!
sweet as whole is the right title hehe sorry!!
Robert Plucky 🙋🏼🎶😂Sweet as Whole
Anyone know what song it is around 725?
Alleen Memmott Come Round Soon!
Mezzosoprano
Soprano.
Kaji Mezzosoprano
@@noejaquez944 soprano
She'd definitely a mezzo with a very very good range. If she was a soprano she wouldn't go that low and even if she did it wouldn't be as supported and clear. Also she can go high but lacks great support above E5/F5 which is basically where a mezzo would naturally switch to head voice - passagio (this does not mean its impossible to go higher than that in chest voice as a mezzo, however it gets a little bit more tricky up there, comparing to a soprano). You can tell her comfort region is basically F3-E5 -A5 which is rougly where mezzo's typical range falls (A3-A5). Because she is a trained vocalist, she obviously can play with extremes very well and with years of experience she extended her vocal range to at least 3 octoves or more which is great. But yeah guys that's a mezzo.
@@catarinarodrigues3142 she is a soprano, she trained as soprano, she sai that che us a soprano and her Voice doesnt sound like a mezzo at all
Does anybody know what song is at 6:36
Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/Lu6P91MaOmQ/видео.html
what's the song at 0:55
Robert Plucky It's "1000 Times" taken down a semitone I believe. She posted it on her Instagram sometime in 2016!
PNW thanks... but i wrotr the wrong time xD I meant 0:57
Sje has akmost fiur octaves then..especially since she can probably,go,down to A2..
What's the song around 7:46?
Come Round Soon! I'm not sure of the exact date, but I know it was performed at a concert in December 2011.
PNW thank you!
Hey, what is the song at 8:51 please ?
The live version of Once Upon Another Time: ruclips.net/video/ub8QAtFm7rY/видео.html
What song ing 4:21? 😃
Worst Magician "Bottle it Up" - Live in Singapore!
PNW really? That's her first somg that i heard and loved. It looks like she gave it a different style here😯 Sara's so amazing!
She slightly sounds like Sia when she belts
Her voice is waaaay cleaner than Sia's.
does anyone know her supported range?
She supports something like F3/F#3-D5/Eb5, with resonance, consistently to me. She can get very tight on D5/Eb5 and higher, but the consistent support is still here. I'm still skeptical about some E5s and F5s.
Ch -Voce I know absolutely nothing about support, so thank you for answering!
+PNW You're welcome!
Ch -Voce but what about her headvoice?
She supports to A5 in headvoice.
For anyone interested, here is a longer video I made that includes notes I hadn't found/didn't have enough room for in this video: ruclips.net/video/NlBOIa2vWNs/видео.html
