I wish that there existed a plugin in Reaper, or a VST plugin, specifically designed for professionally tuning a piano, for example, using a condenser microphone. My idea is that if this feature were integrated into Reaper, it could open up a new market for piano tuners around the world. Thanks for a great video.
Anyone having issues (like I had) with finding the VST-file of NUMA-Player after the install: The path is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. ---- Add that to the VST path in Reaper and rescan. (Thanks Reaper-Forum!!)
I always thought it strange that we have to go to JS to find "MIDI Velocity Scaler/Compress"...we should be able to right-click in any CC-lane in the Reaper MIDI editor to access those, like I could with "Realtime" for the Atari 1040...like 35 years ago...
AHHHH! Nice! Beautiful honestly. Not only that, many headaches avoided. I love your midi tips man. Keep um coming. Also, just wanted to let all my fellow Kenn-O-Maniacs know the Official Lyric Music Video for the Kenn-O-Maniacs Remix is now up. It's the intro video on my youtube page. I hope you all enjoy. Thank you again Kenny, for all your tips and tricks!
hi kenny i have tried to download the impulse responces from the link you posted and nothing happens when i click on the link where it says DOWNLOAD THE ZIP HERE? can you help thank you in advance!! brett
Kenny please help me with a question. I want to record my vocals in mono, but I am just now reading that reaper doesn't have mono tracks like other DAWS? More Importantly, does that mean I have been recording my vocals in stereo this whole time????
Tracks in Reaper can contain items with any number of channels. No need to setup track for this. Arm your track for record and choose mono input. That's all. After recording you'll get mono item on track.
you can record your vocals in mono if you use a mono channel of your audio interface. you will see in reaper that the audio file is mono. however the reaper track is stereo so that you can pan your mono signal to stereo if you wish
These vids are great in terms of instruction. However, the first words on many of your sentences are muted. This is even the case on vids that are up to 6 years old. I am highly grateful for these vids but can you please fix this issue?
On Apple silicon, Reaper is in all the tests i have seen, the most efficient using all the cores. Congrats to the Reaper dev'ers 🥇
Another really great reverb for doing this is the JSFX "Atlantis Reverb" by Geraint Luff, and his preset "Mellow Piano", simply beautiful!
One day Kenny will show us how to fly to Mars with Reaper. 🙂
And, of course, he will show us several highly customizable ways to do it! )
😂
legit..
Its great to hear your thinking process as you creatively solve common musical problems, using technology as just a tool not an end.
There was a moment there when my heart stopped because I thought Kenny was going to show us how to make a piano VST inside Reaper. 😆
Great As always. Saddly the IR link no longer works
Kenny is GOAT.

Nice! Thanks for the useful tips for customizing piano sounds. This obviously has applications beyond the particular example in the video. 🎹
Thanks Kenny 🍻⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you. Great stuff
Interesting concept. Also, thanks for the Lexicon IR files tip.
Very nice. You are a sound inventor, man!!!
Amazing 💯
Someday I'd like you to do a segment on pumping, what it is, how it can be used to enhance, and also how it detracts.
Keep in mind many of us don't know what pumping sounds like, so make it unsubtle at least to start with.
thnx for the lexicon free tip, I love lrxicon
Thanks!
Super!!!
That s why i subscribe
Very helpful instructions, as always! 👍

Beautiful! Made my life a lot easier. Now i just need to find a song to record with my wife with some slow piano like this in the background
Is it also gonna work if you use piano roll since I dont have midi keyboard..
reaper lets you use your computer keyboard as a stand in for a midi keyboard.
I don't have the midi velocity scaler in reaper where to get it???
In spanish we have a expression for Kenny: No es la flecha, es el indio.
Thanks Kenny!
