Well its a preference. With chaperone, you can have weapons like waking vigil or gnawing hunger. For duality, dire promise and forward path. Also the catalyst for chaperone hasn't come out yet so we won't know if the weapon will be better or worse when you use it. Who knows about any other buffs or nerfs that will be made.
@Korbin Forsman I think it's likely that most of them will be introduced through events. They could also still be testing them and have these in the database as placeholders. Either way, I'm looking forward to the malfeasance catalyst.
Chaperone needs an airborne catalyst or firefly. Firefly since all you do with that gun is get headshots and hopefully the explosion does enough damage to the other opponent to be able to be one tapped body shot.
The Duality is quickly becoming my favorite special weapon for PVE, haven't tried it in PVP yet but I'm looking to take it for a spin with the old fashioned soon
My main issue with Duality is I always ADS, forgetting it has a buckshot. And in some situations I do use the buckshot, but I rarely ever manage to hipfire when I need to. I'm almost always ADSing, which gets me killed.
The biggest thing for me about the chaperone is how satisfying the whip sound on reload is. I hate the duality reload where you reload the whole mag at once, but chaperone gives you one slug at a time and a nice sound.
Yo I wasn’t playing destiny 2 when it was in season 12. I want the duality shotgun but I don’t have beyond light. Do I need to get only the beyond light expansion or the digital Delux upgrade too?
Watching you play only affirms my belief that Titan is absolutely a better choice in this new world of Stasis than Hunter. Before BL I was sailing decently with a hunter, but after struggling I started running it through with my Titan and life is much better now in the crucible. Keep it up man - you made a convertee to Titan Main.
Little known fact, Chaperone also has the Lightweight bonus +2 to mobility and faster sprint speed. Chaperone and Fighting Lion are the only two exotics that have this.
I love both but having a blast with my max range Crimil's Dagger (with Outlaw + Opening Shot), Duality, and a Linear Fusion Rifle. I have had some of the most incredible, consistent PvP experiences with this setup in years, and I utilise Charge of Light Mechanics wherever possible (Quick Charge, High Energy Fire, Charge Harvester, Stacks on Stacks, and Supercharged). This setup gives me effectively FOUR weapon styles, and covers me for a variety of maps and playstyles. Alongside using Titan Behemoth Statis I'm just having tonnes of fun. Duality giving me a choice between Slug OR Buckshot is amazing, and though it took me time to get used to switching on the fly when engaging enemies at mid or close range (and well after obtaining and mastering the Catalyst), it all clicked into place very recently! It's a shame that the Catalyst Range buff is almost negligible when compared to stock Duality range in either ADS or hip-fire, but the extra ammo in the mag is very welcome. No, Duality will never beat a proper Slug Legendary/Exotic nor Buckshot Legendary/Exotic, but it can give you a nice choice at mid-range, and catch many players off guard too. One of the best, easy to use Exotics made, that's not OP, performing brilliantly in current sandbox, and has a bit of a learning curve only in knowing when to choose how to engage an enemy at any given moment. Once you get used to that, it makes PvP a wonderful experience! 😊
Bro im glad to see that u the only youtuber having fun with stasis, yes u gave us your honest thoughts on it and thats was it u haven't spam us with vids about broken things in beyond light.
IMO it depends on your play style. If you like to play ridiculously up close and aggressive and need a weapon that’ll get the job done if you fall out of melee range, duality is better. If you play aggressive but yet still cautiously, chaperone is better so you can keep a safe but deadly distance. For examples, a hunter running max resilience, bottom tree arc staff, strafe jump, and stomp335 will want duality since they will be traveling at insane speed towards an enemy, but say a warlock with high recov but low resil will want chap so if the take damage during a fight the can kill at a longer range and then get to cover to heal. It makes sense in my head.
The way I see it, even though they're both slug shotguns, they're still at a significant enough range disadvantage to other weapons that you frequently need go push in a firefight. The duality is far less claustrophobic than the chaperone and excels at controlling those close ranges that enemies get in your face at, which is pretty much the whole point of a shotgun.
People always talk about the kill range on spread shotguns. But even withing it's range if your shotgun doesn't do enough damage IT CAN WIFF. Duality is cool, but with the insane amount of inconsistency with the hip fire I would take the extra range of chaperone. Sure you can shotgun then follow up with a punch, but an aggressive frame only takes one shot and won't let you follow up.
So, what the chaperone lacks in versatility it makes up in consistency, and the reverse is true for duality. I don't use chaperone much, but I've been enjoying duality in PvE. It helped carry me through the new campaign.
Duality is quickly becoming my second favorite exotic weapon behind The Chaperone. Kind of feels like having a more consistent First In, Last Out (over double the aim assist). Also loving the fact that it's Solar. Finally have a slug to use against those pesky hive wizard and cabal shields. Every energy slug ever has always been Arc... Even though it's been sunset, I'm tempted to pair my Blast Furnace with this in quickplay. Sounds like it'd be a nasty combo.
Honestly, i've been running both depending on what loadout i want to run. Since one is kinetic and one is solar it is nice to be able to have a solid slug shotty for either slot so you can play around with what legendary you want in the other. p.s. on a completely personal bias, i love the clean red dot sight on the duality. I love my chappy but i've never super loved the huge red circle sight on it. I'm sure plenty will disagree but for me that is a little tick on the duality's side of the board lol.
Also if you proc max black wings does that increase the slug shot range of duality? Cuz the precision damage buff may increase that 11m kill range. I didn't see you buff the duality in testing. With how you can hit your head shots i can see you keeping the buff up for awhile. Given headshots extend the buff, like roadhorn, you can alternate heads and bodies and increase the buff to max. Still doesn't beat the chaperone base of 13m but still. Also chaperone headshot collats feel badass af.
I tested one stack and it barely increases the range, my guess is you would need 3 hip fire kills in a row to see a big change in slug range which is not gonna happen that often in pvp. The trait seems to be for pve
@@DFP Its def pve gun. I was just thinking, with your chappy skills, you in particular would be able to maintain and increase the buff extremely well. Chaperone > duality plus duality has a garbage crosshair
Chaperone easily. Also stasis has ruined PvP. I swear PvP just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. Whether it be artifact and seasonal mods or trash metas or stasis, PvP just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. Also what a useless catalyst.
