i like the fact that hyunjin dances with his WHOLE body too. he dances not only with his core but with all the wya to his toes to his finger to his head, which ive noticed most other dancers don't acknowledge as much. that and with his passion and skill, it can truly say he dances with his all.
Wow!! This is an excellent analysis 👏👏. Many people say: but there are others better dancers than Hyunjin … well yessss of course but what he has is something that it can’t be learned : the aura , the presence , how he invite us to his dance . It is just mesmerizing .

Okay, no idea how many have seen/watched Dance Moms but I’ve always said Hyunjin is the Maddie of Stray Kids. Is he the best technical dancer? No. Does he have the most amazing extensions, expressions, lyrical movements-absolutely. He sucks in the audience with us aura and keeps you engaged from start to finish. He doesn’t perform the performance, he IS the performance.

I always thought Hyunjin was the best dancer in the group. His extra arms extention, eye glances and head tilt are so satisfying to watch. His dance passion is undeniable. He puts in 110% to his performances
I hate it when people say he doesn’t have the best technique and he’s more of a performer. While the dancers who are technically good but can't express the emotion as much as Hyunjin are considered technically better but as we see in this video, expressing the emotion IS ALSO ABOUT technique. Hyunjin's dance technique is not noticed as much as his stage presence. So please spread this video, stays. Everyone should watch this. We have no idea how much he knows about dancing. He taught himself modern dance and jazz AFTER he debuted because he thought he was stiff. I mean stream this video lol. Share it everywhere.

Definitely you could have the best technique, but when you can’t perform and there’s no emotion in your face it’s worthless. Performing belongs to dancing. I’m not a dancer but I think his technique is really good too 🤗
9:36 "Proving once again that he's not just a pretty face" This hit because Hyunjin once said if there's one thing he wants the world to see is his dance skills that he works so hard on. He'd rather people compliment him on his talent than his looks. He knows he's attractive, but he works his ass off to prove he's worth the attention. It also goes back to his sassy style. When he was on hiatus, we can all tell he didn't just sit there and do nothing the whole time. He prepared for his Play With Fire cover showing everyone that even though he was gone, he's back and better than ever. Really pouring his emotions such as anger into it. He only got to do one Kingdom stage so this is what they missed. He may not be the best in the world but he's my one of my favorites I've ever seen. Very memorable and draws peoples attention. If that's not a performer then I don't know what is

I don't know the technicalities on dancing but one thing I'm sure of is that Hyunjin is an instrument of art.
You know how a certain painting draws you in, or a song can make you feel emotions it's the same with his dancing.. Everyone can draw, sing or dance but very few people could transcend emotions to people. It's a gift backed up by authenticity/sincerity. Hyunjin has it.
a very precise analysis of the dancer that Hyunjin is. I love watching him dance. I remember my daughter's description of what dance is, she said "dance is an expression of one's self." This I see in Hyunjin. Kudos dear boy you are really proving to everyone that you are not just a pretty face.
Hyunjin is something else, he's once in a generation artist and dancer. As dancer myself there're very few dancers I can watch performances more than 1. I have to admit, I watched every single Performance of Hyunjin multiple times and I'll never get enough of it. It's so satisfying.... this man is ART himself.

Hyunjin is really an excellent dancer. In their performances I always notice small details that others might forgot or not able to do but he is consistent in doing that. For example is in one of the footworks in s class. He makes also the dance steps look like his own choreography. His charisma on stage while performing is on top tier level. He is very charismatic and expressive, and when he moves, the lines are always clear. He is not just a pretty face indeed. He worked hard as a trainee until now to keep improving himself.
Thank you for saying Hyunjin is not only a pretty face but also a talented dancer. He works so hard, because people tend to reduce him to his visual. I think he used this perfectly to accentuate his dance. An amazing dancer!

It's describe how i starting to know skz,it's through Hyunjin with his great stage presence .there is many best dancer but not everyone of them can be a best performer.thats make Hyunjin unique and different,he had his own signature that only he can do
sometimes, I think, why hyunjin is my bias of skz, but whenever I see him perfoming any new song, he always makes me speachless, his powerful dance matching his facial expressions, and how he does adapt the new dance with his personal touch like the eyeroll in maniac, or the smile in backdoor first chorus. also his moves looks so powerful but so clean, smoth and precise, I've never seen anyone like him
And this is why his fancams are the most viewed ,not only among stray kids members, but also among other 4th gen dancers/groups 🤷♀️

Hyunjin's dance is what makes him easy to spot on stage. He is so good. His texture, balance and power along with the chill vibe draw me to him the very first time. Especially in Thunderous. How can someone change dynamics from soft to a powerful quick movement. So impressive. His balance alone is impressive.

It’s so interesting to see where their strengths lie, and I like how Lee Know is more of a dancer’s dancer (one who requires a dance background to fully appreciate) while Hyunjin is more of a performer’s dancer, one who instinctively knows how to capture the audience’s eye and create an interpretation that you feel in your bones. I enjoy watching both styles and get chills from what they are able to bring to a choreography.

Thanks so much for this amazing analysis. Making my way through all of the Stray Kids videos, and you really do well capturing each dancers unique qualities. Well chosen evidence. I agree 100% that Hyunjin's gift is expression. He has said he has trouble expressing his thoughts/feeling in words, so he does it in dance (which is how we got the Billie Eilish choreo). And you can see just how much thought goes into his choreos (see making of AOTM video). His dancing is a gift for STAYs for sure.

In the first place there is no such thing as best dancer or performer many idols are talented and have different style and strength we cant compare between them it just comes down to preference
@@jui5004 I know, I use the term best dancer not for one dancer only and of course I didn't compare hyunjin or any idol with anyone. Any idol who is excellent at dancing can be called best dancer right? Like we can call any dancer the best dancer or performer without looking down on other dancer. Unless we say this dancer is the best dancer in what group/ among these idols, then I think it is okay to use the term.

Tired that his own fandom puts his technique below that of another main dancer, appealing to the number of years of experience and agreeing only that Hyunjin has great visual expression. He is an amazing performer, but above all he is a dancer with high technical skills. Now Hyunjin is one of the best dancers of his generation and in general in K-pop, with his own unique style.

Omg thanks for this video. U described everything that i wanna pointed out about my hyunjin, but i cant find fit words coz im only a casual fan and dont really understand abt dance techniques. Hyunjin dances with his soul, they way he moves his body is really artistic, he executes moves really beautifully. His charisma is really strong on stage, the way he glares, the way he moves his head, shoulders, legs is really unique. Like u said, hyunjin puts emotion in to his dance. This is hyunjin unique style, the style that only hyunjin can do ♥️
Oh my god.. you analysed his every movement, expression so well. watching this.. i was feeling like... yeas exactly thatz why i like him,thatz why he seems so different from others.. i hope others can watch this analysis who questions his dancing.. then they will understand why HYUNJIN is a unique dancer.
hyunjin inspires me so much. he worked HARD and continues to do so. he started from having no skills to being able to reach this level of dancing, it's insane to think about. it's almost like he becomes the music in a sense, through his performance you can just feel it
At 3:23 , see how stable his shoulders are compared to the dance crew while doing that move...his technique is so polished.
As I have no knowledge about dancing technique, I prefer Hyunjin’s dance performance because his body line which is tall and lean making him look sexy every time he moves as well as his facial expression. BTW, he is one of the perfect dancer.

Great analysis. I agree a lot that Hyunjin is a rare dancer who can combines technique, style and expression! I do noticed he likes to utilise his neck and head to make the dance impactful and yes, he also use his shoulder cleverly when there's leg movements. My fav part is the details he make when knocking the door in 'back door' (@SBS Inkigayo_2020.09.20) He cleverly knocks with his shoulder and so his hair shakes a bit, makes the whole thing looks real compare to how Felix knock with just wrist or using elbow.

This video does a geeat job explaining how beyond technicality Hyunjin utilizes his whole body to emphasize the musicality of a song and to express its emotions, which many dancers only do with their facial expressions. His shoulder movements, wide leg movements and many more explain what he wants to convey through dance. Truly how Hyunjin said himself, that dance is a language for him, through which he communicates to the audience. That's something u can't be taught, u master it. That makes him a great dancer

Hyunjin has been rehearsing endlessly for a long time and continues to rehearse in the hall. He works out every movement, every gesture in front of the mirror. Even air kisses. The image he created on stage is the result of many years of exhausting work. Considering that in reality his character and manner of behavior are completely different. I admire that. His style is instantly recognizable, and this applies not only to dancing, but also to singing. But I do not agree about the weak "points" of other dancers. Felix, for example, puts such points in the finals that you can die.

I feel like his way of dancing really reflects on his personality. Hyunjin is a person to go deep into emotions, to feel and understand and be one with it. Just as you said, his dances are similar to this.
