I love this video. I have stopped dancing ballet like 6 years ago, but random acts of ballet still happen. Especially at subway stations:) its fun, dont look as good as it did when I trained 10 hours a day but still feels amazing
we new yorkers are just so awesome that we love watching people randomly ding ballet on the street. Best thing ever tho? Watching through the glass walls of the ailey studio. OMFG. LOVE IT!

Random acts is a great idea. Balet isnt exactly what I am into but you guys are doing great to show people. I would like to see random acts of monster trucks. loll

They were like, "What the heck is she trying to pull", and I was just kinda caught up in the moment so I didn't even notice that 1.) I was getting looked at like a crazy person 2.) A small crowd was forming 3.) There were some people doing the same thing on the sidewalk next to me :D it was really fun, that's why I love ballet
This reminds me of one time I was walking down the street in NYC, and I saw a ballet dancer ( you could tell, she had an extreme 'duck foot' walk)...And for no reason, I had the overwhelming urge to bow to her....
its never too late! go for it! im the same way. i started dance when i was 3 years ago when i was sixteen and no im on pointe and im in my dance studios company and on dance team at school. it IS possible. i play flute too :D
Very cool idea! I dance almost all the time, but I don't know that I would dance on sidewalks like they did. This must have been a lot of fun for the dancers! =)
I like it verry much ...I ofthen do stuff like this on the streets of cluj...(I am a ballet dancer and my friends allways ask me to show them what I do so I dance on the streets and they love it)

It was a recent discovery for me too! I always thought something like shenay or chenee, and I couldn't figure out what it would be in French, but then when I saw the real spelling I understood how it related to the movement in that all the turns are strung together in a chain. : )

This is so cute, and very true! I NEVER just walk someplace, I'm always dancing! You can point out a dancer just about anywhere!
it never goes away... even as a 21 yr old 6'2" male ballet dancer i still do it in the streets of NY. the crazy looks will never go away

Totally guilty of random acts of Ballet myself on the Waterfront in southern Ontario. I even had a live soprano to accompany me :D
