@Estrellakatarinathegreatrussian I agree with you that true love and companionship is real hard to find/get this day and age. People around my age and younger only thinks about sex, gucci clothes etc. Sometimes I think I'm born in the wrong decade tbh.
not only that, but the length of life she traded..when all is over maybe with a hundred years more Aragorn lived,, it probably just felt like 6 months to her as an elf..as Thranduil said, a hundred years Is a mere blink in the life of an elf.
She has an option unlike other elves she chose mortality to be with Aragorn, she died a year later after Aragorn's death after he ruled as king of course and have with her as his wife their son and Heir Eldarion and Arwen and Argorn also had daughters.. But after Argorn died Arwen was so comsume with grieve that only lasted a year more then follow him to death. Which is better than to live an eternity of grieving because that's how strong the pain is for elves after their soulmate dies, it's always fresh like the day their beloved died no matter how long time passes

Piece of trivia: the boy is played by the son of Jed Brophy, who has appeared in almost all of Jackson's works in some form or fashion; his most significant role was that of Nori in "The Hobbit".
It's interesting to watch this interview of Jed Brophy, where he explains how the scene was shot: ruclips.net/video/WhLLxR5BMSg/видео.html&t. He also mentions that the other son of him, if I understood correctly, played one of the hobbit kids who listened to Bilbo's stories at the party.
He's also @ 1:52 to the right as the elf on the white horse.@@nickred2023 He's played elves, dwarves, orcs, ringwraiths, Rohan men, he's played almost every race in LOTR, and he was in Jackson's early films such as Braindead in 1992
There's so many breathtaking scenes like this from LOTR... other major franchises are lucky to have a few moments and scenes as impactful as this one. The LOTR has them in practically every act from start to finish.
Absolutely love this scene,to this very day I cannot watch it without tearing up. The way Liv Tyler's face is shot gets me all the time she's so damn beautiful
One of the most beautiful, sad music and scene in LOTR. So much emotions in this small clip. The fact that she chose to give up her immortality for happiness. The recognition of the child's eyes saying this is a future you can have 😢. Her tears of being decieved by her father and the choice she knows she is making and will have to make. Her father knowing he will loose his daughter for the life she chooses and lies to save her.
I thought this scene was amazing. It crystallizes the moment at which a person understands that fate has reached out, and an irreversible decision is finalized.
1:55 that shot scenery gives me chills. It is so beautiful to see Rivendell in autumn, the end of the seasons, so close to a barren wasteland. That tiny detail of the power of Elves leaving Middle Earth is so touching. This movie is perfect.
Elrond reveals Arwen's dark future filled with death,he never bet on her also seeing a vision of the future coz his blood runs in her anyway. Seeing her son made her go back and give everything for that tiny future they would share together.

( For what might have been For what never was For a life long lived For a love half given. )
Reminds me of when I was a kid, I always longed for a little brother and would dream and long for one. This scene reminds me of my sad longing. :'( HOWEVER, FINALLY, into my young adulthood, my parents finally produced a brother for me. He's 18 years younger than me, BUT WHO IN THE SAND HILL CARES??
Such perfect casting. When Arwen touches Elrond’s face you see his pupils turn huge, which happens when we see those we love. And his stern expression melts away. So good
On paper, this scene can come across as very cliched but the way it’s shot is masterful. The visuals, the acting, the music, the cinematography, the sets, the visual effects - it all feels like a dream. The Lord of the Rings is the greatest film of all time for a reason. The emotional ride it takes you on is something every human should experience at least once.
If you listen closely to the birds in the background, you notice that the loudest one is the bird kauai oo, which is a bird that went extinct because of humans. The sound of it's chirping is the recording of the very last one before they went extinct. For some reason hearing the noise of a now extinct bird, still "existing" within another world kinda made me feel really sad but happy at the same time.
I thought I was the only one noticed that! I'm so glad someone picked it up too! I thought I must be mistaken the first time I saw this movie, and then when I realised it was indeed the kaua'i o'o call it was all "The kaua'i o'o bird is alive! And it's on freaking Middle Earth!"
this scene is so moving, for all the hopes we hold in our lives and in our hearts as we move through life. Sometimes you have to believe and take the chance.
I'm so sad for Arwen's fate. What a strong determined and powerful warrior she was when she saved Frodo and summoned the horse-shaped flood confronting Nazgûls. And she sewed the flag of holy white tree for Aragon. She could have eternal life to Valinor but she gaved up immortality for human race out of her love for Aragon although she knows the grief she would have after the death of Aragon. I can't imagine how much the grief it would be for her an elf with long life in the faded world and in the faded once golden forest of Lórien.
Appendix A says she and Aragorn also had multiple daughters, besides their son. Which makes it more painful that she leaves them for Lothlórien after his death … but also understandable, as she did not want them to have to bury her like they buried their dad.
Arwen always gives comfort in a warming welcome heart ... It's like it is envisioned within her eyes to see the beauty in harsh times ... Brave even tough fading with the Evenstar light ... She always clings on to love and will stand to survive all obstacles ... Even gives her own life to protect what she loves and trust ... In protection by love a bond that is here between you and me ... Always healing and caring for what she believes ... I like the gift of foresight in her lovely being that is Arwen to me ...
The sets with the elves are always so breathtaking. Nearly all of them are so beautiful, but also give a somber quality, like it's all about to end. Fitting, since the time of the elves has passed.
The music of this scene is so hauntingly beautiful. I wish i could find the full theme. This whole scene is magical, wounding and healing at the same time.
2:22 elrond was like "Oh shit she saw my search history. But I had a password for my computah! Howww?" But yeah, he basically realized she saw the vision. That very slim chance that hope that they would succeed. But he also was also scared of what the future holds for arwen even if they succeed. He was torn between arwens happiness and the cost of that happiness as well.
The most beautiful scene in the whole franchise. Its so emotional and there was no need for any speech. The body language is enough to show the emotions. This scene alone deserved the Oscars, acting, and music alone. Liv Tyler 🖤
@@tiny-grimes Yeah, I heard Bret McKenzie said that. I’m not sure why they would make the elf in this scene different from the elf in The Hobbit films that he played. @Estrellakatarinathegreatrussian I agree with you that true love and companionship is real hard to find/get this day and age. People around my age and younger only thinks about sex, gucci clothes etc. Sometimes I think I'm born in the wrong decade tbh.
@Estrellakatarinathegreatrussian Yeah, but that is a two way street and thing is I need to find a girl first lol
not only that, but the length of life she traded..when all is over maybe with a hundred years more Aragorn lived,, it probably just felt like 6 months to her as an elf..as Thranduil said, a hundred years Is a mere blink in the life of an elf.
Renee Fleming's vocals are just out of this world. It's amazing how much emotion her voice transports!
1:15 that determined innocent nobele look tho so beautiful and charming how did they found him ?!!! I mean He looks exactly like if he's really Arwen and aragorn's son especially Arwen literally the same face !!!! congratulations to them for finding him the casting was beyond perfect !!! .. Ps: even childrens act brilliantly in lord of the rings
Thats Viggo Mortensen's, Aragorn's son lol
@@AA-jp9cj no, his son was already a teenager during filming. This was the son of Jed Brophy who played Nori in the Hobbit.
It was made by Allah the one true God.

@Dark Lord Sauron a very...very..very distance cousin, she's an elves with nearly 3000 years old if I'm not mistaken. Aragorn is a "young" dunadine i think not reaching his 100, Arwen is a cougar. 😁
The music in this scene just rips apart my heart 😭
Piece of trivia: the boy is played by the son of Jed Brophy, who has appeared in almost all of Jackson's works in some form or fashion; his most significant role was that of Nori in "The Hobbit".
It's interesting to watch this interview of Jed Brophy, where he explains how the scene was shot: ruclips.net/video/WhLLxR5BMSg/видео.html&t. He also mentions that the other son of him, if I understood correctly, played one of the hobbit kids who listened to Bilbo's stories at the party.
He's also @ 1:52 to the right as the elf on the white horse.@@nickred2023
He's played elves, dwarves, orcs, ringwraiths, Rohan men, he's played almost every race in LOTR, and he was in Jackson's early films such as Braindead in 1992
This score is incredible, INCREDIBLE.
The power of a mother’s love. Her child isn’t even born yet, but she wants him to exist one day. ❤
Such a great scene, and the little boy was perfect casting.
This movie still gives me chills. Arwen is most beautiful and strong of heart.
There's so many breathtaking scenes like this from LOTR... other major franchises are lucky to have a few moments and scenes as impactful as this one. The LOTR has them in practically every act from start to finish.
Everything about this scene just gets me. His stare, the music just ahhh such a good scene.
oh god, such a beautiful movie.
blackaktus beautiful, epic, emotional, thrilling
A child's love can't be brushed aside so easily. Arwen knew that, and she chose the better path even though it meant pain and death.
Best.... scene..... EVER!
These scenes would be less than 50% of their value without the music.
Howard Shore = legend
1:41 Bret, you've got it going on!
+Muenni I literally just found out a few days ago that that guy was Bret Mckenzie. Mind blown!
(And yes, he does have it going on!)
These films became Bretter when I found out
Jozef Wicks-Sharp Thank you. So good!
It's Wednesday. Arwen must have been thinking about business time.
Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly?
I love this scene. Thanks for sharing. It always makes me cry.
:')
It was at this moment she knew, Elrond did not tell the whole truth
Elrond was on that Obi Wan Kenobi bs 😂.
Parents who care about their children never do.
The singing, the scene. Beautiful.
Absolutely love this scene,to this very day I cannot watch it without tearing up. The way Liv Tyler's face is shot gets me all the time she's so damn beautiful
“If I leave him now, I will regret it forever.”😢💔
One of the most beautiful, sad music and scene in LOTR. So much emotions in this small clip. The fact that she chose to give up her immortality for happiness. The recognition of the child's eyes saying this is a future you can have 😢. Her tears of being decieved by her father and the choice she knows she is making and will have to make. Her father knowing he will loose his daughter for the life she chooses and lies to save her.
God there’s so much beauty in these films I can’t even comprehend it
2:52
His expression screams "Please don't say it..."
And then how she softly yet truthfully says it's time. Wow, just wow.
The stare the child gives is like "it's up to you".
The music, the acting... this scene gives me chills every time I see it and that child's gaze is incredibly intense... how beautiful
I thought this scene was amazing. It crystallizes the moment at which a person understands that fate has reached out, and an irreversible decision is finalized.
My favorite part is seeing what a loving father Aragorn has the potential to be.
1:17 the music just hits different. Nothing will ever top these movies IMO
Renee Fleming's voice fits this song so well. Along with the images it is a truly perfect scene ❤
This scene touched my heart..every time it gives me chills and tears all together ❤️
1:55 that shot scenery gives me chills. It is so beautiful to see Rivendell in autumn, the end of the seasons, so close to a barren wasteland. That tiny detail of the power of Elves leaving Middle Earth is so touching. This movie is perfect.
I wonder what that feels like, you get a vision and you see this child and realize it's yours. Anyone who is a parent might understand and relate.
Elrond reveals Arwen's dark future filled with death,he never bet on her also seeing a vision of the future coz his blood runs in her anyway. Seeing her son made her go back and give everything for that tiny future they would share together.
Its scenes like this that are the reason Rotk won best picture. The action was a bonus.
When I became a father every time I hug my daughter while she’s running to me I remember this scene
then you look at your wife and realized she is not Arwen.lol.
@@RealLifeManFace she's my arwen
For me it’s the most emotional scene ever made.
Arwen vision of Eldarion as a little boy
I wonder how would look Arwen´s vision of Eldarion as adolescent.

the scenes of this trilogy put you into a trance. It's, dare i say it, enchanting.
Reminds me of when I was a kid, I always longed for a little brother and would dream and long for one. This scene reminds me of my sad longing. :'( HOWEVER, FINALLY, into my young adulthood, my parents finally produced a brother for me. He's 18 years younger than me, BUT WHO IN THE SAND HILL CARES??
awww this is just so cuute
Aren't you sweet? =3
Are you an only child? You'd know what loneliness is.
xxEvangelineRxx I was, for a long time.
Is that true? Or is that a joke? Because your parents are probably a little old to still be producing children.
Silver Snow I guess that’s true
“We cannot delay.”
Arwen gallops off
“No wait! WAIT! THAT HORSE IS CARRYING MY PROZAC!”
Arwen deserved more screen time 😭😭😭
There is a deleted scene where she fights in the Helms Deep.
@@MrCouchmen there isn't a deleted scene. There are only some photographs
this scene is so moving, for all the hopes we hold in our lives and in our hearts as we move through life.
This really justifies Arwen's decision to stay. She has a son, someone she could turn to for comfort for when Aragorn dies.
1:14 I love that piercing look Aldarion gives.
“How dare you deny me life? How dare you deny your love?”
Pro choice activists malding right now
LOTR is the most epic and beautiful movie in the world! A true masterpiece ♥
Yess, its true
Its best movie of all times
There never be anything better trust me
The sets with the elves are always so breathtaking. Nearly all of them are so beautiful, but also give a somber quality, like it's all about to end. Fitting, since the time of the elves has passed.
four hours have never been so short
LOTR still bringing tears to my eyes 20 years later. 🥺 Liv Tyler steals every scene she’s in. Her performance was so genuine.
The music of this scene is so hauntingly beautiful. I wish i could find the full theme. This whole scene is magical, wounding and healing at the same time.
I don't know what it is about this scene but to this day it still makes me tear up like crazy
Liv Tyler 🖤
Everyone is talking about how beautiful the scene is, and I'm just amazed that the "My lady" elf is Bret from Flight of the Conchords.
The “My lady” elf is Lindir, formerly known as the elf “Figwit”. 🧝🏻♂️
@@hindsightpov4218 Figwit and Lindir are different chracters, according to the actor.
@@tiny-grimes
Yeah, I heard Bret McKenzie said that. I’m not sure why they would make the elf in this scene different from the elf in The Hobbit films that he played. That only makes it confusing, imho.
Figwit isn’t even an official elf name. It’s an acronym that fans came up with. It’s easier to retcon and say Bret McKenzie was playing Lindir this whole time in both The Lord of the Rings films and The Hobbit films.
@@hindsightpov4218 agreed! There is no need to “split” the character. I’ve heard Figwits inclusions in RoTK was a pure fan service. Maybe this time they did the same.
I tear up a little when the child runs across the road, then shiver when the singing commences. Every time.
