Interesting how Catherine’s prison is different to prevent you following her. The original made you wait for the cut scene, while this uses Catherine hogging the elevator.
Yup, that was one of the changes made for VR that I didn't like so much. Waiting for the elevator to come back up after she leaves you alone in the prison is more awkward than the original's solution, I think.
You can save checking for the Warhk position it is always sixth You can save checking the reference number with the crystal it is always 9 The interval between the cage dropping down and you opening the fissure is where you can act and make a difference. Anything before and after is fixed so will not make a difference on the performance. As opposed to speedruns for games like OuterWilds for instance, where skills is an important part of the timing, with Riven it is mainly strategy and planning, this is what I like (being bad at skills).
Nope, the colours of the marbles are the same every playthrough! In fact the only things that are randomised that matter for this speedrun are the base marble value, the strike force compensation values, and the order of the Rivenese numbers on the totems. The whole speedrun is basically just finding these 3 bits of information and turning on the domes as you go before beelining to Tay and Age 233.
You dont even need to go there without knowing the solution, since the sliders are colour coded and you know the values for each marble. Its redundant information in the remake
20:26 love that you made sure to free the frog :)
of course :D

How do you get the timer and details displayed in the video?
Thanks
It's a speedrun timer made by LiveSplit
