Just going to say that as someone new to wrestling, Zayn vs Knoxville was the most fun match I've seen so far. Maybe not the best, or most dramatic, or the one that wowed me with skill and spectacle (which is not to say anyone it was bad in any way), but absolutely the most fun.
Honorable mentions I'd add are roman and riddle on smackdown and cody/rollins at mania. Roman and Matt went off on each other and the kickouts from both were immaculate and something about cody and Seth's mania match was special to me. Idk how to say it other than it felt like a classic match. Really brought me back to watching them as a kid a decade ago and I was so happy watching the whole thing.
For me the Hell in a Cell between Rollins and Cody was fantastic, Gunther vs Sheamus is a classic, MJF vs CM Punk 2 and FTR vs Young Bucks 2 were excellent, FTR vs Briscoes is one of the best trilogies I have ever seen, but the two matches that top my list are Kazuchika Okada vs Will Ospreay at NJPW Wrestle Kindom 16 and the G1 Climax Final. It was a very good year for wrestling and we have seen nice matches in promotions like Impact and MLW, even GCW had a match I loved and it was Jon Moxley vs Biff Busick.

Great list, ain’t mad about any of it. I do think my favorite women’s match at a Mania ever is still Charlotte/Becky/Sasha to retire the butterfly belt, but if yours is Bianca/Becky I ain’t mad about it.
Cody Rhodes Vs Seth Rollins @ Hell in A Cell 2022 is on my list as well that Match was Fantasic can't wait for Cody Rhodes to return from injury it's going to be very very interesting in how Triple H Books Cody Rhodes.
Just an honourable mention: Logan Paul vs Roman Reigns There were just too many times that I thought Logan would win the title, which in my standards, is the perfect underdog match. The fact that the announcers hyped it up as much as they did had me really thinking that Logan would win, even though I know WWE would never do that.
This is the match that made me realize Roman is a godlike kick out artist. I think it was either the frog splash or the punch combo that made me legit think that Logan won simply cause it went to the last millisecond for Roman to kick out

Honourable mentions: Men's Iron Survivor Challenge (NXT Deadline), Elite/Dark Order (All Out), Elite/Death Triangle (AEW Full Gear), JAS/BCC (Forbidden Door), Becky Lynch/Bianca Belair (WrestleMania 38 Night 1), Mandy Rose/Meiko Satamora/Blair Davenport (NXT World's Collide), Bron Brekker/JD McDon'tGoogleHisName/Ilja Draganov (NXT Halloween Havoc), Jamie Hayter/Toni Storm (Full Gear), RKBro/Alpha Academy/KO and Rollins (Raw). Think I'll stop there lol
Making this list before the “Miracle on 34th Street Fight” was brave of you D:
Glad Adam is back
That last "Merry Christmas" shall send us all singing into the New Year.
1. Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes HITC
2. Sheamus vs GUNTHER CATC
3. Becky vs Bianca Belair WM

8. Josh Alexander vs Mike Bailey
9. Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood vs Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe FB
10. Shingo Takagi vs Zack Sabre Jr
Seth Rollins & Cody Rhodes trilogy is the absolute best set of matches in 2022 in my opinion
Let me flex.. I was there in attendance for 4/10 of these and that makes me happy
Hangman vs Danielson 2 is so underrated people forget about it because it feels like it happened last year
Maybe misremembering but I thought it did?
Cody vs Seth HIAC was the plan from the start, but holy my god, Cody is the one who made this match even more than what it's supposed to be. It was his choice to go out there despite injured, and while obviously we think he should not do that, you have to respect him for how dedicated he is to even do it and win in the end. He is the MVP of 2022, and please... If he can't dethrone Roman, then IDK who will
I lowkey think Sami should be the one, even though I know its probably gonna be Cody.
Honorable mention to Okada vs. Osprey. Either their WrestleKingdom or G1 Final bouts.
My list:
10. Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar - Summerslam
9. CM Punk vs MJF - Revolution
8. Eddie Kingston vs Chris Jericho - Revolution

That Dark Order vs The Elite match... Holy moly, that was AWESOME

1. Seth Rollins vs Cody rhodes wrestlemania
Yes I think their wrestlemania match was better than their hell in a cell match it’s personal preference because as you can see from my list all 3 are great in their own way
I’d pay large sums of money to sit with Jim Cornette and watch Sami Zayn vs Johnny Knoxville at WM38. His rant on that match was hilarious
Id watch a sunset with him, im sure hed put the sun over
Probably one of my mine this year is from forbidden door, the 4 way iwgp title of jay vs cole vs page vs okada.
Just going to say that as someone new to wrestling, Zayn vs Knoxville was the most fun match I've seen so far. Maybe not the best, or most dramatic, or the one that wowed me with skill and spectacle (which is not to say anyone it was bad in any way), but absolutely the most fun.
i agree with this top 10! with a runner up: jamie hayter vs toni storm at full gear
Every time Adam gets excited and turns into Sully broke me.
Great list! I love your logic! Very just not fluff not what is expected. I think this is genuinely a great insight to your favorites.
FTR Vs. The Briscoes Final battle for me, easy. Phenomenal stuff.
Best worked: Gunther vs Sheamus
Beat Story: Punk vs MJF Dog Collar
Best Stipulation Match: Men's Iron Survivor
Roman vs Brock is my number one because it was so much fun 😂
I think my favorite PPV match of the year was Hayter and Storm at Full Gear
Shame that this list was finished before Action Andretti VS Chris Jericho Match.
FTR vs Briscoes was magic
5. Becky Asuka Some Match On Raw
4. Roman Brock Summerslam
3. Bianca Becky WM
2. Cody Seth HIAC
1. Sheamus GUNTHER CATC
My Top 10 AEW
1. Orange Cassidy vs Will Ospreay
2. Swerve In Our Glory vs The Acclaimed All Out
3. Hangman Page vs Bryan Danielson 2
4. CM Punk vs MJF Revolution
5. Hangman Page and The Dark Order vs The Elite All Out
6.Anarchy in the Arena
7. Cody Rhodes vs Sammy Guevara Beach Break
8. Chris Jericho vs Claudio Castagnoli vs Sammy Guevara vs Bryan Danielson Full Gear
9. Hangman Page vs Bryan Danielson 3
10. The Young Bucks vs Swerve In Our Glory vs Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs
The only Tag Teams that come close to what FTR did are....
Kobashi/Misawa 1995: Three 5 Star matches
Golden Lovers 2018: Three 5 Star matches
Young Bucks 2021: Three 5 Star matches
I pretty much have the same list just in a different order. Obviously it’s not the best match but my favorite match this year was Roman vs Brock at Summer Slam.
The bloodline vs rkbro and drew was fire
Wow adam actually promoted aew I always thought he was a hard-core wwe fan boy have a merry Christmas fellas God bless
I didn't even know Raid was still in business
The FTR-Briscoes 2/3 Falls match was goated. Maybe I'm just bias because I was their.
One of the wrestling highlights of the year for me was when Adam listed Adam Pacitti as one of the top wrestling General Managers of all time
Great list, ain’t mad about any of it.
I do think my favorite women’s match at a Mania ever is still Charlotte/Becky/Sasha to retire the butterfly belt, but if yours is Bianca/Becky I ain’t mad about it.
Rhodes deserves this Mania moment for the HIAC alone
I understand why you put Cody & Seth at no. 1, but Gunther v Sheamus is 100% my jam (that jam).
My favourite match of 2022 was Drew McIntyre vs Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle
Cody Rhodes Vs Seth Rollins @ Hell in A Cell 2022 is on my list as well that Match was Fantasic can't wait for Cody Rhodes to return from injury it's going to be very very interesting in how Triple H Books Cody Rhodes.
9:53 a wish that was granted in 2023 come true at SummerSlam.
Best of times..blurst of times...
C.M MONTGOMERY BURNS.
Love you Adam
Best thing about Cody vs Seth, it was my second most wanted aew vs wwe match, right behind omega vs bryan...what a time to be a fan, we are spoiled
Sami vs Johnny Knoxville was such a stupid fun match and I love it.
Matches of the year were
FTR v Briscoes. Hands down.
Just an honourable mention:
Logan Paul vs Roman Reigns
There were just too many times that I thought Logan would win the title, which in my standards, is the perfect underdog match. The fact that the announcers hyped it up as much as they did had me really thinking that Logan would win, even though I know WWE would never do that.
This is the match that made me realize Roman is a godlike kick out artist. I think it was either the frog splash or the punch combo that made me legit think that Logan won simply cause it went to the last millisecond for Roman to kick out
FINALLY
Alot of fun choices there Adam
There's been alot of great matches this year.
Yes Adam ! Yes watch !
Adam next time you call Walter that other name I'm coming to the UK and we going have a little talk😂😂😂. Y'all the only reason I been keeping up with wrestling specially since all the damn drama this year. I hope the best for 2023 for you and everyone over there at partsfunknown and wrestletalk
FTR had a great year by the measurement of Dave Meltzer Star Ratings, but in kayfabe and even irl they haven't exactly had an incredible year compared to a lot of other top-tier tag team runs.
That’s cos the Young Cucks have tried to bury them due to envy
