The only difference is that now she faces him instead of facing away. This comes to a full circle but with UK and Yeong embracing each other.
I really appreciate how they changed go yoon jung's make up to have that fierceness of naksu while still maintaining the brightness of buyeon. Really helps reflect how she's no longer naksu nor buyeon but cho yeong
I know we wanted Naksu back but it is now Yeong's turn to live as she wanted and apparently she wants to spend her honeymoon with her sobangnim fighting and capturing relics/monsters and "making babies" so I am perfectly fine with this ending. That last shot of them smirking while Scars Leave Beautiful Trace played in the background was 🔥 Gonna miss these two so bad, they served us everything thank you so much AOS
At first I wanted to see Assassin Naksu back in action as well, but now it all makes sense. She only picked up a sword for revenge when in fact she was pointing it at the wrong people. Jin Mu just deceived her and used her all along. The reason she became the shadow assassin who went around killing mages was because she was manipulated by Jin Mu into believing the four most powerful mage families were the ones who killed her father, when it was actually Jin Mu himself. Tbh towards the end of S2 I was anticipating for Naksu to hold her sword again and fight alongside Uk but now that I saw the ending, I couldn't ask for more. Hong sisters did a fantastic job, it was very well written. I finally realised that it wouldn't make sense for Naksu to reveal herself last minute just to fight with Uk when she was going to disappear soon(ofc her priority would be to spend her remaining time with him since they've been apart for 3 whole years and now that they met again, she's about to die). That would also just make more people find out she's still alive. Now the only people who knows are Yul and Yun-ok. Yul has moved forward and had closure with Naksu and Yun-ok seemed to have come to her senses as well and opened up her heart to someone else. I would like to think that King Go Won is also aware of everything since in ep 9 there was a scene where he asked Yul "Is something going on?" after Naksu had a meeting with Unanimous Assembly and maybe, just maybe, Yul told him. I feel like Park Jin also knows and that Choyeon and Danggu either have their suspicions or knows everything as well. Anyways whether the rest of the cast is aware of Naksu's identity or not, it doesn't matter much now. Her name has been cleared as well. And I'm guessing the news reached the public/or someone spread it. They will now know that the tragedy 3 years ago happened cuz of Jin Mu and that he was the real villain who controlled Naksu. People will now finally stop remembering her as the bad guy. Also Naksu living as Jin Buyeon now is just a perfect ending. She only became Naksu for all the bad reasons, which is why her persona of Naksu had to die in the memory of everyone as well. It is only rightful for Naksu to die along with Jin Mu who controlled her. Her original body which endured all that training and slayed the lives of many under Jin Mu's commands had to be burnt as well. That body of hers is a reflection of her dark past, full of blood and revenge. On the other hand her body now seems like it was meant to be hers. Buyeon who became Mudeok never really existed in the first place if it wasn't for Jin Seol-ran. The real soul of Buyeon who was the real owner of the body died in her mother's womb. Ever since it has always been the priestess from 200 years ago who has been lingering around the ice stone. She foresaw the awakening of the firebird from 200 years ago that's why she couldn't leave yet. She also trapped Naksu's soul in her body for that reason, cuz she needed her strength and energy. Indeed Seol-ran had divine powers but she is physically weak and has no energy like that of a mage. She revived the body of real Buyeon thanks to the ice stone and could still use her powers, but in exchange for that the body became weak. It was dead in the first place so it's a miracle she can still use divine powers to full extent(like when she extracted the ice stone from the lake when she was a child with Jin Mu) while keeping the body alive. Now we know why her body is so weak and fragile. She knew this as well and thought she needed to stabilise her body so when the time comes for her get rid of the fire bird, she won't have to worry about putting all her strength to use all her powers. She knew Naksu was perfect for that plan. The whole S1 Seol-ran was keeping Naksu from using her powers as a mage cuz she wanted to save all the energy she could. That's why when the body was recovered from lake Gyeongcheondaeho the body which couldn't have survived still lived thanks to all of Naksu's energy. The very same energy also revived and helped the body slowly recover. In conclusion, we shouldn't complain why Naksu who lived as Mudeok wasn't able to use her powers as a mage in S1 cuz Seo-ran had already planned it all, she had an important reason for it. Now that Jin Seol-ran accomplished her mission, she finally leaves in peace and gives the body for Naksu to have it as her own. But most of all it finally makes sense why the original face of Buyeon which was Mudeok's face in S1 can't be brought back anymore. That was the face of Naksu when she died. People will remember that face every time they think of her. As I mentioned earlier they might stop viewing her as the evil one now so it's all for the best. That face also belonged to a soul who's already dead, Jin Seol-ran just happened to have it. Now that Seol-ran is gone it's just not right to use the face for longer anymore, it should vanish along with the soul which was long dead. Now Naksu is the one who's keeping the body alive and she has bonus divine powers LMAO. She deserves it tho. And her having divine powers of a priestess was meant for her rather than having powers as a mage. She herself said in the last scene of the series that just thinking about training again to become a mage makes her sick. She doesn't want to become a mage again, and in my opinion she made the right decision. Her mage/assassin days are over. She should make use of the divine powers Jin Seol-ran left for her. Jang Uk is there by her side anyways. He's legit the most powerful mage in the world. A mage and a priestess is just the perfect combination. 200 years ago it was Master Seo Gyeong and Jin Seol-ran, now it's Jang Uk and Cho Yeong who protects Daeho. They're the most badass and powerful couple indeed.
You wrote them all nicely. I got some of the reasons why they coudlnt bring MD back and still ppl wanted her to show up. If they really understand the plot, it's totally impossible for MD hanging around Daeho. And what would happen to Uk? It'd change the plot completely...

Love it how at 1:40 Uk says ''Stay close to me'' as a reference to the same line used in S1E2 22:24 when the Gwigu was jumping at them. Back then, Uk was powerless and still tried to protect Naksu and now he is more than powerful enough to slay the beast/relic or any threat to Naksu. They really have come a long way together❤. Now that I’ve had more time to process, I’m glad that Naksu did not return as her assassin self. Though it would have been badass, Naksu (Yeong) has gone through such a hard life. Her assassin self was who she was in survival. Now, she’s beyond survival and getting to enjoy her life. She deserves to not fight anymore, and live a life of ease❤
Yes! I realized that when she lowered her sword down to Uk in S1, she chose to give up that life. Not to mention the sword she wielded was the same sword she used to stab him. Makes sense why the idea of picking up a sword again makes her sick.
If it had a season 3, it would be cool if it's about Jang Uk and Cho Yeong's journey to return the missing relics. It'd be a season of side stories, much like an anthology of episodes focusing on the relics, but at least we'd still see more of them. Still, this is a fitting ending to the story. 👌
Her look at 1:51 reminds me of ep 1 when we first met Naksu, our crazy master !🥹 I really hoped we’d see Nasku ‘the assassin’ in the last episode, but this drama for me surpasses all my expectations and all other dramas for 2022. I loved it from beginning to end. ✨
This was such a satisfying ending, showing their marriage life but still with some remnants of their master-student past. I just wish the ending was a lot longer so we could see more lovey dovey scenes between them. Just give us a season 3!!!
Jae uk promised to take Naksu up the tree. He kept waiting for her to come. No matter how long it took, he finally took her to the top of the tree 😭❤️ They are very loving and match well. Their facial expressions are great when they are acting in the story. I hope to see a drama with them again...
This whole show was an absolute masterpiece. It came around as full circle with this ending. I will miss them so much ❤ I hope they can reunite in other dramas or movies in the future. My weekends won’t be the same and I’m afraid I’ll be suffering from AoS withdrawals for a while as it is hard to move on from this. Love them so much ❤
nah.. season 2 ruined it. it's such a fucking bait and switch, I'm pissed. story was pretty much over after season 1, they didn't wrap anything up and season 2 was just almost pure romance chick flick shit.

I love the fact that Uk says “wife” (부인) and Yeong says “husband” (서방님) 💙 I was pleasantly surprised we got a happy ending, I was honestly expecting a sad ending 😂 Such a great way to end the drama! Jang Uk is the light and Cho Yeong is the shadow.

A lot of people are disappointed that we didn't get to see her fight as Naksu at the end. TBH me too. But as i watched this scene i understood that she never chose to be Naksu. She was good at being Naksu and she was Naksu for most of her life. But that was a role chosen for her/ thrust into her hands by other people. So when she was given the choice whether to pick up her sword again or just live a life similar to what she would have lived if she grew up as yeong, she chose not to be naksu again. And i'm happy for her.
I can’t express how happy I was when I watched the 10th episode but at the same time felt sad cause I don’t wanna say goodbye to them. I need them together in the new projects as main couple. Just finished it today and honestly I am amazed by the plot and obsessed with it. This kdrama and couple just become my one of the favorite after the goblin kdrama offcourse but still the emotions I felt is really something. One unexpected thing I love abt this is that in the ending each episode of this drama there is a sudden twist that really wants u watch the next episode. This drama really catches the viewer's attention.
0:42 after i found his "ome?" cute and rewatched everything from s1, i started noticing that he says it multiple times in the drama lmao (also happened when he was in the library with mudeok to figure out seo yul's breathing pattern)

I can't describe how happy I am for this ending, it was so beautiful and wholesome! All of them deserve the happiness after everything. What I really wish is for AOS to have a novel, with every little detail that wasn't shown, every small scene between the important scenes and maybe a glimpse of what their future is like, I would definitely love to read it💜

Putting the main theme song in the ending made it perfect! If there's a season 3, it would be better if the lead characters are new because Uk and Yeong's central conflict are pretty much concluded, it'll be dull if they'll be dragged on for more. It would be great if the children or grandchildren of the old characters play the lead roles in S3.

Jang Uk is there by her side anyways. He's legit the most powerful mage in the world. A mage and a priestess is just the perfect combination. 200 years ago it was Master Seo Gyeong and Jin Seol-ran, now it's Jang Uk and Cho Yeong who protects Daeho. They're the most badass and powerful couple indeed.
You wrote them all nicely. I got some of the reasons why they coudlnt bring MD back and still ppl wanted her to show up. If they really understand the plot, it's totally impossible for MD hanging around Daeho. And what would happen to Uk? It'd change the plot completely...

Back then, Uk was powerless and still tried to protect Naksu and now he is more than powerful enough to slay the beast/relic or any threat to Naksu. They really have come a long way together❤. Such a perfect ending 🙂.

Now that I’ve had more time to process, I’m glad that Naksu did not return as her assassin self. Though it would have been badass, Naksu (Yeong) has gone through such a hard life. Her assassin self was who she was in survival. Now, she’s beyond survival and getting to enjoy her life. She deserves to not fight anymore, and live a life of ease❤

Yes! I realized that when she lowered her sword down to Uk in S1, she chose to give up that life. Not to mention the sword she wielded was the same sword she used to stab him. Makes sense why the idea of picking up a sword again makes her sick.

If it had a season 3, it would be cool if it's about Jang Uk and Cho Yeong's journey to return the missing relics. It'd be a season of side stories, much like an anthology of episodes focusing on the relics, but at least we'd still see more of them. Still, this is a fitting ending to the story. 👌

This was such a satisfying ending, showing their marriage life but still with some remnants of their master-student past. I just wish the ending was a lot longer so we could see more lovey dovey scenes between them. Just give us a season 3!!!
Jae uk promised to take Naksu up the tree. He kept waiting for her to come. No matter how long it took, he finally took her to the top of the tree 😭❤️ They are very loving and match well.

This whole show was an absolute masterpiece. It came around as full circle with this ending. I will miss them so much ❤ I hope they can reunite in other dramas or movies in the future. My weekends won’t be the same and I’m afraid I’ll be suffering from AoS withdrawals for a while as it is hard to move on from this. Love them so much ❤

A lot of people are disappointed that we didn't get to see her fight as Naksu at the end. TBH me too. But as i watched this scene i understood that she never chose to be Naksu. She was good at being Naksu and she was Naksu for most of her life. But that was a role chosen for her/ thrust into her hands by other people. So when she was given the choice whether to pick up her sword again or just live a life similar to what she would have lived if she grew up as yeong, she chose not to be naksu again. And i'm happy for her.
She was Naksu when no one was there for her and had to survive on her own, she’s now Cho Yeong who has a great husband and good circle of friends.

I can’t express how happy I was when I watched the 10th episode but at the same time felt sad cause I don’t wanna say goodbye to them. I need them together in the new projects as main couple. I won’t complain if you give us season 3 with them again lol🫣🙇🏻♀️ AOS will always have a special place in my heart forever😭🫶🏻 and my clover couple too, In my 10 years of watching series and movies not only asian but western and all, AOS especially part 2 is a masterpiece and the best drama I have ever seen. Just finished it today and honestly I am amazed by the plot and obsessed with it. This kdrama and couple just become my one of the favorite after the goblin kdrama offcourse but still the emotions I felt is really something. One unexpected thing I love abt this is that in the ending each episode of this drama there is a sudden twist that really wants u watch the next episode. This drama really catches the viewer's attention.

It would be even more spectacular if Naksu gets her sword back. Remember, she is a formidable assassin and has eliminated countless of people before Uk can even unsheathe his sword.

Putting the main theme song in the ending made it perfect! If there's a season 3, it would be better if the lead characters are new because Uk and Yeong's central conflict are pretty much concluded, it'll be dull if they'll be dragged on for more. It would be great if the children or grandchildren of the old characters play the lead roles in S3.
