The Simpson Ghost Bandit Helmet is something out of a science-fiction movie that has been adapted for life on two-wheels. One look at this helmet and you get a sense of flight ignition switches and untold amounts of interstellar exploration. It’s angular. It’s fast. It’s got character. Basically, it is everything that you would expect from a Simpson motorcycle helmet. With a lightweight shell that has been fine-tuned for the optimum aerodynamics of motorcycle riding, an internal sun-visor, and a DOT/ECE safety certification, the Simpson Ghost Bandit Helmet is ready for liftoff, and everything thereafter.
Note: Anthony mentions that the helmet runs large, but Simpson says it actually runs small.

Bought this helmet yesterday, got it today, best decision I've made. I ride a Harley, so the wind noise I don't even hear nor does it bother me. It's 100+ out here in SoCal, so this helmet keeps me very comfortable, not to mention it's light. Now, it's nothing like a Shoei or Arai so if you own either, just keep it and look somewhere else unless you just want a helmet that looks this awesome.
I always enjoy Anthony's videos.He is entertaining to listen to.I tend to watch the videos for items I am not interested in buying because of that.Keep up the good work!Hoping you guys get the new 2016 Bell Star & Vozz RS helmets in soon.Both of those are intriguing.
I've always wanted a Simpson because they seem like a solid American manufacturer and because who doesn't want to look like The Stig? Their motorcycle helmets always lagged behind the major brands in features, but it looks like that has changed. The venting looks decent and it weighs in under the three pound mark (woah!). That's almost certainly the helmet I'll be buying for next season.

I see that it's preorder on the site. Any word on when people who are pre-ordering would actually receive? Also, any reason to not use this for some light dual sport riding? Looking at the back of the helmet it doesn't seem like a goggles strap would have much purchase.

I just bought this and rode with it all weekend, and am very satisfied. I'm coming off of riding with a half, so my opinion may be different than some, but the noise from the wind was not really an issue for me(definitely not as loud as wearing a half). Within five minutes of riding with this helmet, I could no longer ever see myself wearing a half again. Cheers Simpson!

I bought true to size. I have recently worn a: Daytona half, Daytona 3/4, and an Outlaw Bandit all in size medium. This helmet in medium has fit me better than any helmet prior! So yeah, for me definitely true to size.

Just got my Ghost Bandit today. Fit is spot on. Very important to measure head size, I am a large bought a large and it fits snug as it should.
Just want to clarify on how to choose the size. I measure 55 cm. You were saying i have to go for the next smaller size?
sizing wise, I wear a large in helmets , and the large of this helmet fits like a glove, great buy, just a little noisy, but if you don't want to hear your bike then what are you doing anyway.
Does it come with a secondary visor for the inside? If you get a clear lens does it come with a tinted visor or if you get a tinted visor does it come with a clear inside visor?
I've always loved the Simpson look.
Top vent actuator a Muuust. I'll wait till they fix that, and then i think i found my next lid.
Can large cheek pads be used in a small helmet?
My Street Bandit is on it's last legs. I wear a Medium Simpson, do I still need to go down for a Ghost?

It was mentioned in the video that you can put a tinted shield and have a clear drop down? That would be a nice combo. Can you change the drop down then?

Size chart indicates I’m at the upper end of the Large size. Tried one on and cheek area was SUPER tight. The XL was almost perfect. Just a touch loose. Can the cheek pads on a Large be swapped out for thinner pads.

I've been drooling over Simpson helmets for almost 20 years now... down here in Italy they're hard to find and way more expensive than in the USA... an Outlaw is €520 (approx $650, I think). Hard to really pull the trigger on one if I think I paid €500 for my bike LOL
I wear a small in all my helmets and borderline may have needed a medium with this. If i went a size down to xs it would have been wayyyy too tight.
Hi, I'm thinking of getting one of these. I currently wear an arai corsair V in a small, what size should I get? also I'm from australia, is there an ECE rated version of the ghost bandit?
I recommend sticking with size small. The version we sell here in the US is only DOT-rated, though you might be able to get an ECE-rated from Europe. -DrewZilla

It's a great helmet. A bit tight. But it's soooooo lound. The top vents create such an annoying whiseling sound. Anyone found a solution for that ?

I'm thinking about buying a new visor for my Simpson Venom helmet.
But i'm not sure if i should buy a dark tint one or a silver mirror visor.
Is the silver mirror visor as dark as the dark tint visor or is it lighter when I look through it?
Mirror tints are usually closer to a light smoke, so if you ride in dusk or dawn conditions then that would be the safer option.

Just got one of these today and man is it ever comfortable also in the video it seemed like the inner sheild didn't go down far enough but it does go almost to my nose so it's perfect. Mine is an xl
can I ask what head shape and size is? I am a 23.5 and worried that the xl might be too large

I just received a Flat Black Ghost Bandit I ordered from RevZilla and it has a dang small Chip in the finish I'm disappointed
I wear all my helmets medium- they all fit snug. So your saying I should get a small? Size down? Also I wear glasses would that be an issue? Especially with the inside visor?
I didn't size down for mine. I also wear glasses when I ride and it is not an issue with the inner visor. Plenty of room.
Why does it say only DOT in the annotation? Simpson official site says it's ECE/DOT?
The helmet is ECE-certified but is only labeled for DOT here in the US. Only Ghost Bandits sold in Europe have ECE labels. -DrewZilla
Given the fact that the vents at the top of the helmet could not be closed, does water could not go inside it when riding in the rain?

Is the Drop down removable? I like the helmet but not the down drop down. I'd rather have a tinted or mirror shield. A mirrored shield would look sick on this helmet.

Huh, never even heard of this brand before. But I'm super digging that power ranger look. This helmet seems to have some great features, and I totally agree about the top vent actuators... but there's a good chance I'll be looking this way on my next Revzilla helmet purchase!
Man to not of heard of Simpson you must have been living under a rock. Simpson has been in business since 1959. Granted they have been almost exclusively car racing until recently, they are one of the biggest names in the industry.
Are European models different from US models? I've always believed that they are basically the same. Maybe a few differences like the ratchet versus the double-D ring strap but the same overall. My HJC IS-33 II has the ECE sticker and a ratchet. I heard that the same helmet sold in the US doesn't have the ECE sticker. Only the DOT.
Some models are the same, but many are slightly different for the European and US markets. As you've noticed, the biggest differences are that US models almost always have D-rings, and then some models are DOT-only. The HJC IS-33 II sold in the US is DOT-only with D-rings. -DrewZilla
do the ghost bandit and street bandit helmets fit the same? I tried on the large street bandit and it fit well. Will the ghost bandit fit the same?
They have a similar internal shape, but the Ghost Bandit fits almost a size tighter than the Street Bandit. The Street Bandit is more true to size. -DrewZilla

Thanks for the speedy reply, I called Simpson Europe Sweden and was dealing with Simon who was extremely helpful. He told me there are no pinlocks available for this helmet visor yet but that they will try sort something out in the next few months.

I'm seeing on an ebay store and at simpsonracing.co.uk that this helmet is ECE rated for UK road use. Are you sure its DOT only?
For future reference the official website shows DOT/ECE Certified. Might be useful for you to update that annotation for your friends in Britain :) (not sure how long ECE will be valid now that we're leaving the EU though!).
In the US, it's only _labeled_ as DOT, so even though it might pass ECE, there's no ECE sticker certifying it as such. Hope this clears up any confusion! -DrewZilla

RevZilla not going to lie but that’s a bit of a disappointment. It really big in a medium, had I known that I wouldn’t have bought it. Oh well, it is what it is. Very cool helmet though.
Is the Simpson logo removable?

How does it do with fogging?
The stock shield is only average for fogging. However, a Pinlock face shield and Pinlock anti-fog insert are available separately. -DrewZilla

Says it has mic and speaker pocket but where you would install a Sena 20S? There is that stupid useless visor pull down switch that's totally in the way and it has a angle lip at the bottom. Weird choice. Guess you have to put it backwards on the right side.
+BigAL Rides You can mount the Sena 20S helmet clamp just aft of the sun visor mechanism and use either the hybrid boom microphone or the wire "button" microphone. It's not ideal, but it works. -DrewZilla

actually Revzilla says to order a size smaller.... but that video is 3 years old. I called them in July of 2019 and was told that Simpson re worked their tooling on this model and the helmets fit more true to size now....
UPDATE, my head measures 57-1/2 CM. That is at the high end of medium on their chart. I ordered the Ghost Bandit in medium and it fits just about perfect. My head is an oval shape. I never thought I would be in a medium, always bought large in the past to avoid pressure points at the forehead etc. now that they make oval shaped helmets I realize my true size is a medium, at least in this case....

I was disappointed to see made in china on a Simpson helmet. Are they worth the $670 price you ask?, NO. More like $300-$350. They pop and creak when putting on and taking off. The face shield and visor distorts your vision. Would I buy another Simpson motorcycle helmet. Next time I buy a Simpson it’ll be a race model and if it has Made in USA on it.

China and it shows. I’ve been wearing Simpson helmets exclusively since 1984. I was very disappointed to see made in china.
This helmet was such a disappointment. I got the most expensive carbon version and two months later I am getting something else. To anyone considering it, be aware that if you are used to other premium brands (agv, shoei, arai, etc) you will be extremely disappointed. The helmet looks cool, and is quite light, but that is about it. The noise is unbearable, as are the aerodynamics. It is literally only for low speed riding. The worst part is definitely the inferior quality compared to others in this price range. The visor does not seal properly, scratches extremely easily, the internals started to fall apart after a few uses, and what shocked me the most is when I realized that the EPS liner is made from segments which at some points were literally held together with tape. Finally, just so you know, even the most expensive carbon versions are made in China, which Simpson does not mention anywhere on their website. For the same price I am now looking at the Shoei X 14 (X spirit 3), which is on a completely different level in every single aspect.
