    Good, tired of seeing listings for 100 prize packs on tcgplayer, we should NEVER see that

    I didn't get it straight from Pokemon, but I asked two distributors if I was allowed to stream rip and ships the day before release and they told me no. They told me that if I were to open for singles, or grading etc. but not have them for sale until release date would be fine as it wouldn't be visible, but they did tell me no to even streaming the night before rip and ships and shipping day of.

    So my takeaway then is Sports Card shops that dabble in Pokémon cards are going to become the new second-hand dealers for Prize Pack singles because LGS stores can't touch them. Like I understand it's to prevent play stores from ripping the packs themselves to sell the singles, but the money and cards are still going to flow, just through hands that don't have to answer to Play! Pokémon.

    It is a priviledge to be a pokemon store, so if they dont want product opened before allowed street date then dont open until the monday of release week. They will enforce it by pulling your priviledges if you break them.

      Not much of privilege when most time big stores sell the product weeks before card shops sometimes. Also when I see so many sellers on fb market etc selling the product early as well.

    Of course. They don’t want the store selling off the promo stuff rather than promoting the game. Like happens ALL the time.

    Singles aren't supposed to be the main way to make money on these games. it's supposed to be the product. i'm 100% into support for not opening it at all before release.

    I think all the store promos and packs are all hoarded and sold to several resellers in the hobby. The recent promos are so hard to get and expensive compared to the past stamp store promos

    im guessing the opening part is for streaming. i agree with lgs stores not selling prize pack stuff. bc its to much of a grey area of how you got the cards. no way to prove you arent giving out the packs and not opening and reselling singles.

    I'm pretty sure the goal of disallowing opening of product is to prevent rip & sell streams partially.

    I understand not selling the sealed promo packs. I even understand if they had some way to track stores that are opening packs to sell the singles. What I don't understand is Pokemon limiting who can buy promos that are already in circulation. This is like if the NFL told players, no we gave you that Super Bowl ring so you have to keep it forever. You're not allowed to sell it to a pawn shop if you need quick cash. It's no longer Pokemon's property. The card has been given out to someone. It should be their choice what they do with it, and they shouldn't be limited in their options.

      It doesn't sound like it's restricting the players or collectors who have or win the prize packs from selling the packs or cards, it's just saying the stores that want to be a part of the official Play! League program have to be 100% away from any involvement in those sales, because that's probably the only way to guarantee stores aren't keeping the packs to sell themselves or ripping them to sell the singles. You, me, or any store not officially connected to Pokemon will be fine to buy and sell these.

    • @sirmurford2737
      @sirmurford2737 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@distortoakland9040 yes, but stores are typically the fastest way to make the sale. They're also a more reliable seller (usually) than individuals. The number of "light played" eBay listings that would just barely escape the "damaged" bin at an LGS is appalling. And those are just the ones courteous enough to post pictures that directly refute the listed condition. My point is Pokemon has no stakes in the cards once they've been given out, so they also shouldn't be able to tell people what they can and can't do with the cards once they receive them.

      It’s understandable - I get the stance, but any rule that potentially punishes a store for otherwise doing exactly what they’re supposed to do is definitely a feels-bad.

    While I get what Pokémon is trying to do here, this isn't going to make the demand go away for the prize packs and stamped cards.
    But I suppose it makes it so at least the players are now the only ones that are "allowed" to profit from them, which is more fair.

    So if an LGS currently has a load of play stamped stuff on stock they've legitimately purchased from a player trade in what are they supposed to do with it? Take the L and give them away?

    Why would TCGPlayer need to remove the league stamped cards because they're not involved in Play Pokemon stuff (are they)?

    • @coolyeh1017
      @coolyeh1017 9 месяцев назад +1

      They are not. I don't think Tcg player would need to get rid of listings unless TPCi wants to go the legal route of removal (aka the images are copyrighted by TPCi and you don't have permission for every single card).

    • @CNA-Games
      @CNA-Games  9 месяцев назад

      No - even the Fab promos are still on tcgplayer, so I doubt they will stop tcgplayer from selling them - besides, anyone can sell on tcgplayer, so it’s not always just stores selling on there

    So is Pokémon gonna crack down on the big dog retail stores from breaking street date (looking at you Walmart and target) or just bully small LGS’

    • @sirmurford2737
      @sirmurford2737 9 месяцев назад +1

    I don’t know why people get so upset seeing play packs for sale. I’m willing to bet most don’t even attend a league, they just want to be upset about something

    • @CNA-Games
      @CNA-Games  9 месяцев назад

      I guess I don’t care if players are selling them… but when you see a tcgplayer account with 10k sales with 50+ listed, it definitely sucks to see because you know players never even got a chance to get those packs.

    • @chuckd.68
      @chuckd.68 9 месяцев назад

      @@CNA-GamesWell I definitely understand why a retailer like yourself might be upset but as a buyers perspective, definitely going to drive the price up I feel. Surely some of these listings are extra stock. I definitely wouldn’t attend a league where they didn’t have the packs because they sold them
