Came from announcer compilation. As a Chilean, totally caught me off guard when the first video was of this match. Very interesting Soccer history. Viva Chile 🇨🇱
true from the old soccer obviously, the best soccer match to me was the miracle of istambul from 2005, the UEFA Champions League finals. this whole game was tight. very defensive with a hostile ambience by both teams. regards from Chile.
Explain the several times they broke "the code" making the NYPD go hunting the hell out of them And about this match, all started with the kicking the italian did to the chilean first, got a punch back well served, even the other Italian players didn't care, and i already watched a more complete video about this match, 5 fking kicks to the head from the italians to the chileans, Elias dancing the hell out of the italians, i'm surprised the chileans didn't get even more aggressive with the dirt as hell game the italians did, well deserved 2-0, and i wish it was even more to give you guys a lesson, but Korea did that in 2002 so i'm more than satisfied, you got played on your own game.

Nice one Aston. You obviously bricked it. No punishment for both of Sanchez hooks. And they talk about Italian scandals. He must have thought WWII was still going on and the Italians were still the Axis
A couple of Italian journalists covering this World Cup had the audacity to totally slag off the host nation Chile and its efforts to host the competition (coming just two years after the most powerful recorded earthquake in modern history had struck Chile). Needless to say, Chile went into this game ready for a fight, the Italians rather stupidly obliged
Fantastic, brilliant, and extremely funny game to watch, just brilliant, great entertainment, my favorite game I have ever watched in my life. Close but this just beats Portugal v Netherlands in 2006, I pissed myself laughing at that one:-)))))))))))
It’s funny watching this all those years later but l grew up watching the game in England in the 1970s when thuggery was considered part of the game. Every team had someone who specialized in crippling the most talented players in the opposition. Skillful players were ridiculed by managers as ‘Fanny merchants’. No surprise then that the violence on the pitch was echoed in the stands. Horrible, horrible times
For those who says Messi Is the GOAT: Imagine playing football in a world where there is no yellow cards, and a player must almost kill the other for being sent off. Well, this was the World during Pele's career, and he was able to do magic in such a hostile environment.
I encourage folks to watch the whole match or atleast the beginning, abvailable here on youtube. The Italians were absolutely the provocateurs in this match from the very beginning. I think they thought it was the only way they could win because the Chileans were clearly superior, technically speaking. Still, it was disgusting, especially the way the Italian players refused to accept the penalties and were literally trying to intimidate the ref at every turn, who was a BIG man, thank goodness. It's no wonder he was favoring the Chileans. I would have too.
Of course not ! HOME advantage ! We had it at The OLD DEN , MILLWALL during the 60's-Early 90's....that is the only reason we broke the Football League record of 59 unbeaten home games.
Never heard of this despite my dad being a Chilean football fan like most men in my family. Perhaps out of shame, how interesting such a friendly and fun game can become aggressive. Must say both sides are at fault and it was a unfair for both. I continue to be proud of Chile and friendly towards Italy, this happened so long ago and does not represent the people of those two countries. Don’t let love stop at the border or on the field 💚🤍❤️🤍💙
Love the announcer, one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. Second funniest thing is seeing the Chilean players drop like sacks of sand when they weren’t even touched or barely so. Wonder if the “little boy who cried wolf” story ever made its way to Chile.
rusty shekelford Games are still filmed and shown with far away shots so you can see the playing field action. A guy raises his knee, opposing team member who’s steps away grabs his groin, no contact made - dive. Appreciate your input, though.
