So much respect to the referee who disallowed his 450kg lift in Sweden for soft lockout. I hope Magnus Ver is gonna be the judge this year at the deadlift championships because if a bad rep at 505kg was allowed, it would be a joke. There's plenty athletes whose soft knees and leaning forward passed.
I hope it will be Magnus too. I did feel sorry for Nedzmin though after putting so much into the lift but not quite able to finish the last 5% and passing out

He didn't quit competing, he had an operation, but he had to invest money in something and start working because it's hard to make a living from his job while you're competing, and plus when he stops competing, he has to have a job!@@randomdude4482

I think world record will not be broken. All competitors are around 480kg (nedzmin 450kg). Asko Karu may be better with stiff bar(deadlift bar whipping may not have advantages some competitors) and suit will not help him much as we see. My idea is if they attempt 480kg Pavlo will have it with excellent form.
From what I have seen he posts training videos pretty regularly, last one was only 3 days ago. At this stage it seems like there isn't the time but maybe Sebastian has a plan. The last video posted was 272,5 kg x 5 speed reps.

Hi Ken, Hafthor Bjornsson pulled 501kg and that is the officially recognised WR. Gaints Live who are holding the Deadlift World Championships later this year have set the target at 505kg and if anyone succeed they will receive $50,000. Asko Karu pulled 480kg earlier this year without a deadlift suit so he is looking like the favourite.
watching some of his training footage i don't understand why he doesn't fully lock out when he is repping. if that's his weak spot he shouldn't just skip it completely in training. i hope he cal pull 455+ atleast:)
Idk man 500 kg is way too heavier than 1000 lbs. Like 102 lbs diffrence which is huge diffence. Like just put 2 kgs more than your pr... like extreamly difficult to do
Does he have dual citizenship? I mean he is Bosnian but has the Swedish record in deadlift. Does he compete for Bosnia or Sweden? and If he was to set a record, could it be a record in both Bosnia and Sweden?
@@anton6795 thats correct, he moved to Sarajevo. I don't know the details of his current status with Sweden citizenship but I do know he is very proud to be Bosnian and that's who he will represent at World Deadlift Champs

Yes, he had a settlement visa and lived in Sweden from 2011 to 2020
