    This was very helpful and it honestly took me about 90 seconds for the whole operation. I may have got lucky, but it was fast and smooth. Much easier than it looks here.

    • @JacksonWalter735
      @JacksonWalter735 3 года назад

      90 seconds is great. This whole process isn't as complicated once you know how to do it. Probably 2 minutes give or take (at least on the APX Centurion/Compact)

    If you put the frame in a vise and use a hooked dental pick for that retaining spring at the rear you can just hook the pick under it and leave it hands free while you tap out the pin with the punch from the side. Whole frame change can be done in less than a minute with a pick and a punch. You can use the pick to hold the spring up while you install the chassis into the new frame as well.

    Quick Tip; use a piece of center cord from some paracord looped around the spring to lift it up. Once you slide the pin in, just drag the cord out. supper easy.

    Looks like the P320 wins in terms of easy of disassembly, but not by a large margin. It's a matter of one pin vs. two. It would be interesting to have a comparison of the actual design of the chassis in terms of the parts involved and so forth. I'm also interested in knowing how easy it would be to add manual safeties to each design as an "add on" kit.
    On the other hand, I like the grip design, backstraps, slide, trigger, bore height, grip angle, texturing, and magazine design all better on the APX than on the P320. Why can't a single company just manage to make a perfect gun? :-)

    Doing the frame swap on camera always makes things more difficult looking than it really is. The first time I switched frames I found it very easy with no hangups, but I wasn't doing it on camera. With the Sig P320 is easier the frame switch is less complicated and therefore easier. But think about it, how many times do you do this. Shooting both pistols side by side I prefer the APX. I can't wait to get my hands on the CZ P10c later this month.

    Did you find yours to be reliable right out of the box? I have read a couple of reviews saying that they had no malfunctions at all. It is not reasonable with today's ammo costs to put almost as much in ammo to break it in than you paid for the gun.

    All i can say is at least Beretta has made it possible to change the frame to a different color. It might take a few minutes longer to do than the Sig p320, but at least it CAN be done. With a Glock, HK, CZ p10c, old school CZ 75, or Springfield XDM, you dont have that option. You better buy your favorite color to start with. If not, your stuck with black. So for all you guys complaining about the design, just keep shooting your plain ole black Glock.

    I just got mine today, October/2017. Oh man, very hard to take it apart. The push-button is hard/pushing against the frame towards the other side. Then turn the takedown lever. I have not change the back-strap yet. Well see.....but looks like a complicated design from Beretta. I'll shoot it next week, my wrist and elbows were in pain taking it apart! I hope it shoots well. Or am calling Beretta and give them a lot of crap. lol

    I suspected that it was a big deal when mac didn't show it. I said he did a disservice to both Beretta and Sig Sauer by not showing the Beretta's modular qualities and just stating that it was very similar to the P320. I mean why else wouldn't you show the prime unique feature of a new product? At least Mrgunsngear did a separate video.

  • @CybermomusKing
    @CybermomusKing 7 лет назад

    I am no Sig 320 fan, but the frame and backstrap change on the APX? WTF? That took like 5 minutes to do. Every other chassis system takes less than a minute. I dont mean to be ugly, but that is some garbage. If someone were to buy that beretta just because of the modular chassis system, thats going to be a disappointment.

    • @neutronalchemist3241
      @neutronalchemist3241 7 лет назад +1

      Yeah. Imagine to be under fire, and you suddenly realize your gun's frame isn't matching with the environment. Five minutes is compeltely unacceptable!
      Let's be serious. Changing frame and backstrap isn't something you do on a daily basis. It's something you do maybe once a year, to find the one you are most comfortable with. There is the possibility to do it? Fine. One or five minutes is of little importance.

    If I had to do this with my own pistol I would have to watch this video while I was doing it because it is so convoluted.
    (this is easier) - stand on your right leg, touch your nose with your left hand, spin to the left, spin to the right, while smoking a cigar and repeat after me, I hate Beretta, I hate Beretta, I hate Beretta...
