Steve Smith My rights are not given to me by anyone, especially not your fairytale child killing psychopaths that you religious nuts brainwash yourselves into believing. Get a mind of your own.
"...a whole gaggle of numbnuts..." Say what you will. . . the man has a way with words. . . *I* will be the sole arbiter of whether or not I defend myself and with what. Anyone who presumes to make the decision for me is a criminal, and if faced by them - I will *end* them. "Retired" criminals commit no new crimes. . .
Let's see ...Ask anyone who is against guns this question: If you were by yourself in a remote part of let's say ..Alaska (point being you are trying to survive on your own with nothing). You set up a small homestead, learn to hunt by setting traps, have access to fresh water, life is good so far. Suddenly you are beset by 2 maybe 3 others who are stealing your hard won food and traps and blocking your access to the fresh water you found and were willing to share. But because they don't have anything and don't want to work like you did and aren't interested in asking you to share they think it's OK to come and take it from you. The last time they came into your camp they beat you up really bad and again stole all your food. What are you going to do in order to protect your person and the life you built for yourself? If you could construct a weapon would you do that? I would hope so. OK, so now we are in the real world, you still work hard in order to eat, but guess what, you have much more responsibility and you have others who depend on you to help them (children) and instead of 2 or 3 potential bad guys, there are thousands, some of who have hurt people in their past. Isn't it always better to be prepared? Responsibly prepared? I say, unless you are in complete denial to the world we now live in, Absolutely Yes! Don't ever be that one who's on the TV news saying "you wish there was something you could have done".
I tell them this: "When the next tyrannical regime is marching you and your family to the gas chambers, then send me a postcard about how happy you are with your moral decision not to own firearms."
Appreciate that ...I just would like the anti-gun side to justify, using my example, what else could you do in order to protect yourself and your person? Because in my scenario, without protection, people are not always understanding as you and WILL take advantage when they see weakness, so much so that your life means nothing to them.
the answer is, nothing; you find a corner to curl up into and and pray. that's the problem with anti-gun nuts; they don't believe in statistics or logic.
+ymp5000 What about the man with anger issues. He's fine all the time except for once when that one person pushes him a little too far. He loses his mind and pulls the trigger. Or the four year old who sees daddy's glock on the shelf. He looks down the barrel and boom he's gone. You see not everyone is as normal as you guys are to safely use a firearm. Look at the stats. 1.) Every week, 300 CHILDREN are injured or KILLED by firearms. 2.) More people in the USA are killed by their own gun rather then being murdered. Now, I'm not anti-Gun, NO WAY. What I think should be necessary is different points of limitations on the types of guns you can own. For example, If you go to any Walmart and fill in an application and have a quick background check, you can have a 22. Or, if you'd like, you can take a year of courses and safety checks and once you're finished, by all mean grab any gun on the shelf. My point is, let's think before we want to implement a major risk.
the rock What is stopping the guy with anger issues from taking a year of classes? Nothing. So the child looks down the barrel of a .22 and boom he's gone. Same result. Your stats are skewed. Those people being killed by their own gun include suicides which should be omitted because in the absence of a gun they will find another way. Accidental deaths by firearm have declined from 0.82 per 100,000 in 1981 to 0.20 per 100,000 in 2012. All the while the number of privately held firearms in the country has increased. None of what you have said here is actually responsive to my question. Who would I be safer from?
No. The guy Would not pass the safety checks so he wouldn't obtain a gun. If the parent didn't fell the need to keep an unlocked gun on them, the child can't shoot himself. I'm not here to answer your question. I'm just saying let's think before we do.
Ted is the man. I never much liked his music. I like country music but I like the man and what he says and stands for and his awesome land in Waco TX. Ted for pres Rite after Trumps 8 yrs
Dallas Henderson Cat Scratch Fever! A true cowboy. I have a vote for ted nugent for president button i picked up at a flea market. Yes i have also seen you very wealthy people walking around with us deplorables.
I know of a lady who had just got out of surgery was in bed sleeping this guy broke into her house ' The lady said the guy was on some kind of drug he threaten to kill her he jumped on her wile on the bed her stitches broke open she finally use her leg or foot to kick him off of her so she grab her firearm pointed it toward him and pleaded with him to leave he then told her he was going to kill her she didn't have any choice so she shot him once with the gun it was a 357 MAG he kept coming toward her so she unloaded shot him six times he staggered out the door ran up in the woods finally died'' If she didn't have that gun that night she would of been killed herself...
Jim Chumley What's to live with? She was prepared, she effectively defended herself and now there's one less scumbag for the rest of us to worry about. I would think she would approach the rest of her life with more confidence than ever before.
Randy R I've only used my Handgun Carry Permit for the intended purpose one time but,yes when you shoot someone there is some emotional aftermath to the action. The police accepted the explanation of how he tried to draw on me.The guy turned out to be unarmed but said that he was trying to bluff me. The whole time I was being investigated, I kept wondering if they were going to return with a warrant for me.Fortunately,it turned out that I'd acted properly & the guy hopefully is no longer trying to rob people.
These anti gun proponent politicians also have a group of armed security protecting their life and safety, what about you. What do you have? Police civil servants who would view you as a criminal from the moment they came on scene.
the whole idea of making laws to regulate lawful gun owners is stupid. there is a shred of an idea in there but it is abso-fucking-lutely ridiculous when you consider how many laws we already have that arent enforced and held up as it stands. we already have laws that punish people for using a gun to commit a crime... we already have laws that regulate the sale of firearms... we already have laws that regulate where guns are and arent allowed period (schools, airports, federal buildings, ect)... we have laws that can put a criminal in jail for life but then we let them plea bargain out or parole the person in a few years. we actively chose not to be harsh on the penalties for the laws we already have but yet some wamt more. as if just havent more limits as to what will get you arrested is the key. its funny to me because, the people wanting more laws and more restrictions are not scared of me and rightly they shouldnt be! "I" have a wife, kid, house, cars, job, and a desire to live long enough as a free man to see my child grow up--I value my legal status and my blank/clean criminal record. i have no desire to ruin my status in life by commiting a crime. the person the gun haters are worried about is a person that is going to commit a crime and most likely doesnt share many of thlse virtues. inherently this makes the whole point of making more laws useless. unless you desire is just to find more and more ways to catch a good person in a legal scenereo where they are suddenly a potential felon for having, oh dear, might i say, a magazine that holdsmore than "x" rounds?!? or a gun/rifle with certain outlawed cosmetic features?!?! haha... or banning ar-15 rifles because of the brainwashing of ignorant people to think those are the dealiest guns... haha... nope. not sold. when the gov and courts start locking up or actually following through to the fullest extent on punishments related to gun crime, amd we sti show no improvement, I might consider additional laws.
Tony Reynolds We would then be well into our Third World War. There would be no guns to ban. One of them would have pushed the button. Probably POTUS NUGENT. I voted for Mr. Trump. Head for the hills... there would be no nation to go to other than than the awesome containers they have to collect people with similar skills and viewpoints of the current world state of affairs we have.
No restrictions?? No, what we need is a Google for people that only firearm retailers can access. The database would have access to your crime record and health records, thus you walk into a store, give your name, and the teller INSTANTLY knows if you're okay to purchase a firearm. I find no problem in your needing to prove you're stable enough to acquire something as powerful as a firearm.
You clearly have not ever bought a gun from a gun store. It's not quite instant (it takes about 2-6 minutes most of the time) but that already exists. It's called the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) and is run by the FBI, and used by every FFL dealer in the country. The problem is most of the people committing crimes with guns have acquired them illegally, or there has been a failure to report them to the NICS which would have prevented them from buying a gun. The laws and systems are already in place, they are just not enforced as they should be. Law enforcement and public responsibility are the issue.
"Let's pretend... brave families didn't leave the tyrants and slavedrivers of Europe"... to become the brave tyrants and slavedrivers of America. That is the problem with Nugent's history - it's mythologized, just like his version of the gun debate. The issue isn't one of the right to self defense, the issue is one of gun ownership and they aren't the same thing, particularly when people talk about the possible "necessity" of overthrowing the federal government. Say that you object to how the war on terror is being played out and you're un-American, but talk about overthrowing the government and democracy with it and you're a "patriot".
Greg Pesano Forgetting, of course, about the more problematic part: "a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state". I simply don't agree with your, or Nugent's, parsing and dumbing down the issue to one of being either for or against Nugent (who cares what he thinks?), guns, tyranny or America.
Greg Pesano Given that there was a great deal of debate at the time of the writing of Constitution as to whether a standing army would give the federal government too much power, and the fact that militias are specifically mentioned, yes, I do think that's what the 2nd Amendment is about - amazing that you can "channel" the wishes of the Founding Fathers to say otherwise. As for subsequent rulings on the 2nd Amendment, you'll find them a politically convenient hodgepodge of decisions, few if any of which have any bearing on the Amendment's original intent, which was to guarantee the States the ability to raise armed militias.
What part of overthrowing a fraudulent, tyrannical government is *not" self-defense? I'm almost looking forward to the mental contortions & gymnastics you'll have to go through to even come up with a bad answer. . . much less a correct one.
Greg Pesano It becomes "obvious" because that's what you want to see - the meaning of the Second Amendment is never found within the Second Amendment; it's always found outside it because the intention is always supposedly more important than the text.
Ted is so right. I have heard him speak about several different gun topics. I truly believe that more gun laws only affect law abiding citizens, who buy guns at gun stores and go thru FBI background checks, and learn about all the rules about carrying in your state. These are not the people causing the problems and stupid shootings. It's criminals doing these crimes. It's so simple, to be a criminal means you don't obey the law and some think more laws will make a difference??? Criminals don't obey laws that's why they are called criminals. Leave the 2nd amendment alone.
Ted, you should run for council/congress/anything to get this "realistic" viewpoint out to ALL Americans. I give you two thumbs up because you said EVERYTHING I BELIEVE in a nutshell! I support you brother!
as a musician there's damn near none better. as a spokesman he sometimes lets his mouth over run his ass but this time I'm so damn impressed with what he had to say. I looked like a damn bobble head nodding to all he said."a gaggle of numbnuts" uncle ted nailed it!
Ted Nugent you are the man I have liked you and your music since the day I become listening to music which was in my young teens and I'm 52 now Rock on and I love you support the Second Amendment in this lifetime I would like to meet you and Donald Trump before I die God bless you and your family
"I don't like repeat offenders. I like dead offenders." Ted Nugent has led quite the life. My first concert I ever saw was Ted Nugent with Pat Travers opening in San Antonio, Tx (the old Hemisphere Arena)....wow, the Motor City mad man rocked the house!! I later saw Ted at a popular Mexican restaurant (Mi Tierra) and he was laughing and joking with a whole table full of people. What a character.
I am a FAR-Left, Anarcho-Socialist... and I agree with Nugent 100%. I may disagree with him on 99% of his politics, but we stand together on the 2nd Amendment. Also, "Stranglehold" is one of the best Rock Riffs of all time!
During my days of working concert security in the 1980’s in Omaha Nebraska I worked ted nugents concert. And I gotta say, I liked him then and I still do.
I truly wish I knew a way to convince this AMAZING PATRIOT and unquestionable LEADER to run for president!!!!! Ted is one of the most heroic Americans in this nation. he could definitely make the right decisions because he CONSTANTLY DEFENDS THE CONSTITUTION and our forefathers who gave us these RIGHTS!!!!! THANKS TED!!!! God bless you sir!!!

Charles Rogers Obviously it's not instant, I never said it was. I said it could be improved and sped up all while preserving it's security.
MosbeckSB In your post you put instant...........guess you forgot
TheNesterP I guess YOU forgot reading the part where I said "what we need", aka IT WAS A SUGGESTION, NOT A STATEMENT.
Ted Nugent is an intellectual Rock star. An arrow directly into the heart of political hacktivists.
I've been jailed twice for defending myself in Indiana with my Bear Hands. We have a God Given Right to protect our selves and loved ones
Fuckin' A !
Greg Pesano And if the real world could be run using bumper-sticker philosophy, you could be president.
Couldn't have said it better myself! Great words Ted you are a true Second Amendment, life and liberty American who gets it!
Well said Mr. Nugent, absolutely
I would love for ANYONE to dispute what T.N. is saying! Right on!! He is saying what anyone in those scenarios, or personally effected by, feels.
Well said Ted. Could not agree more.
Ted, you should run for council/congress/anything to get this "realistic" viewpoint out to ALL Americans. I give you two thumbs up because you said EVERYTHING I BELIEVE in a nutshell! I support you brother!
All I can say is AMEN Brother!! I'm not American but God knows I wish we had laws like that here. Well said!

NOW THAT IS A WISE MAN! Why is it so hard for people get it?
"I don't like repeat offenders. I like dead offenders."
Ted Nugent has led quite the life.
50,000 THUMBS UP!
As a father of a 4yr little girl... you stopped me cold with those words... I agree.
is there any way you could be more right on you are 100% correct Ted Nugent I even saw your concert
This is a perfect way of saying it! Agreed! Good shit!
No clickbait here! Ted's words are the best words I've ever heard on the 2A!

Seen this one a hundred times and it never gets old , leave it to the whack master , there's no arguing with perfect logic!
so glad Ted is a voice for common sense ! ! !
Ted's deliberate delivery is what makes this hilarious. He means business!
"Pretend there is no document", that is the best start of a comeback to any anti firearm person.
God bless you sir!!!
you are not weird, you are one of the most level headed people I have ever heard and I agree with you
