Matt is so composed here. His comments are unbiased. No crazy fanboy moments. Good to see him like this
There is pain behind that cheeky smile
I usually forgive his fanboy moments throughout the race season, it just takes grains of salt here and there but it's charming in itself
@@larssonk22 I think so too
I mean yes Matt is a Charles fan, but he gives every driver their fair credit and he doesn't really hate any driver
I think its the lack of “youtuber voice” where he has to sound overly charismatic to keep audience retention up
Lewis fans will now experience what Matt goes through every f1 weekend 😅
Let the Ferrari Pain begin.
Pain!
Plan c plan c😅😅😅😅

When SkySports needs F1 expertise, they call Matt and Tommy! 🙌🏿
P1 Matt and Tommy > Sky F1

Matt has aged like 5 years and Tommy looks like a baby in a wig lol
Plot twist 😂
P1 matt and Tommy > Sky F1 > WTF1
absolutely true @@Jahhh1995
Its so good to see Matt getting bigger and bigger, now being looked at as a valuable opinion by the elites of F1
Just don’t ask him what he thinks about Kvyat.
P1 are the GOATS
CL knew Lewis was coming before he signed the contract.
Most likely well before the new year.
I hope charles his manager was smart enough to include in his contract that he wont be getting teamorders in 7x WC's favor
then it's especially messed up they didnt tell sainz earlier
That “hey Lewis” moment happened in Monaco this past season, it’s possible that he was already campaigning Lewis behind the scenes at that point.
@@ellobo4290
Yea definitely but I think CS would have know due to the fact that Ferrari stalled on signing him for a further year. CS team would of said to Ferrari what’s the problem we only want a 1 years extension to take us to 26, so I think they would of know at that stage that something was about to happen.
That what I think any way because a 1 year extension isn’t much of a contract and if Ferrari were stalling on that, Carlitos team would have and should have put 2 and 2 together.💯
@@pizza8031 that is also true. I just hope he has his seat for 2025 and further sorted would hate to not see him on the grid.
Lewis has probably seen something in the car development that's seriously concerned him. Couple that with figure heads leaving Mercedes over the years and the clinical experience being lost im really not surprised. You must remember he's on record saying Red Bull were 7 seconds ahead on overall pace compared the Mercedes. Its an atomic decision but one he clearly seems a chance at an 8th title
Yep. 2 all time greats in their own way, with 7 wcs. One of them hopped teams to get into cars that potentially increased the possibility for him to win races. The other one hopped teams cuz he had a great vision on what was needed within a team to improve, and the charisma and leadership that such projects require to motivate the staff around him to make it happen.
thats not it at all - merc didnt want to give him a longer contract and the ambassador role

It's so nice to see Matt recognized as an important player in the F1 world! Congrats!
Lewis, I wish you all the luck. You are following your dreams. And Matthew "Sky Sports" Gallagher, look at you. I can't wait to see the show with Tommy next year. Hamilton/LeClerc at Ferrari is going to be ridiculous.
Our boy is back on Sky!!!
Where's Tommy? You can't have Matt without Tommy
watching Max Verstappen videos probably
TBH i think he is the Perez to Matt's Verstappen
@@jeandrebosmanMatt is definitely the stronger personality. Tommy is more the straight man who enables Matt to be more out there.
Matt does live commentary for sky sports on Formula E, Matt is the reason P1 is big let's be honest.
@@NBALIVETVbroadcastI did not know that… might actually watch formula E now.
I can see a "Is it gonna be a 1st world title for Charles Leclerc or will it be a 8th world title for Lewis Hamilton?" coming real soon. sooner than u think

wtf1 really fumbled with matt and tommy😭
Good job sky for bringing on Matt from P1!
Makes me so happy to see Matt showing up on shows like this now. I was so worried for him and Tommy after they were ousted by WTF1. They've not only landed on their feet, but flourished
I don't think anyone is getting the _reasons_ right. While no doubt there is a combo platter of factors behind Lewis decision, listening to Toto's interview this morning I suspect Lewis no longer felt he had a future at Mercedes. It took a long time to get a deal done with Mercedes last year and then it was only for 2 years and (reportedly) for not the same kind of money he had been making. I get the definite impression Mercedes were already starting to look to a post Hamilton future and did not want to be anchored to him too long while Lewis wants to be around another 4-5 years. Mercedes were giving him the Bottas treatment, stringing him along until the next exciting prospect came up.
Ferrari have signed Lewis to a "multi year contract", the terms of which we do not know yet but I would bet it is at least 3 years, maybe longer and reportedly with dump trucks full of money. He wasn't going to get commitment like that from Mercedes. Of all the factors in the decision I would be willing to bet that was the biggest one.
Neither teams seemed ready for the announcement. I suspect the timing was driven by the need of Ferrari to either commit to Sainz or risk losing him without a deal from Lewis.
Lewis' Ferrari contract is known to be a 2+1 with the +1 being a driver option.

There you go Sky F1, brought in the goat! 🎉
Lewis is more important than Charles now as he just brought 4 billion dollars to Ferrari stock. Paying him $50 million a years seems peanuts now.

Good move Sky sports, you got me hereto watch a video of yours, by putting in Matty boii
I hope Alonso doesn’t get the seat, the ultimate price for what he did in 2007 that soured them so much against him
All the people directly involved have gotten over it , it’s time you did too. Ron Dennis of all people rehired him. Dennis and Whitmarsh Also admitted to mishandling the situation. Dennis has a long history of mishandling top drivers going all the way back to Senna and Prost. It’s time you stopped blaming Fernando for Ron’s failing. No Rookie has ever won a WDC, Lewis and Villanueve proved its too high a bar. Had Dennis managed the situation better he wins the WDC and WCC in 2007, Lewis learns a lot and then they battle and win both titles in 2008. Instead he lost both and control of his team.
@@seashackf1 have they? 🤔 can you show me some quotes from Mercedes Benz staff that back that up?
Why am I blaming Alonso for Ron’s failings? Was it Ron that made Alonso try and blackmail the team? 🤔😂 what a stupid reply
Ahh so it was Ron that caused Hamilton’s gearbox to fail in Brazil! Gotcha! Jesus that man has some talent
Fernando was never going to accept being beaten by Lewis; hence why he did what he did. It was petulant and toxic of him
Yes he was rehired, and how much did McLaren pay him? Not a single penny. Alonso’s $25m salary was fronted by Honda. He also had to remind Fernando of his contract when he wanted out because of the engine troubles
That was at Mcklaren, not Mercedes! relax guys... Merc didnt have a team back then.
@@heru777media I’m sorry, what? 😂 remind me of the team name my guy, was it McLaren Ferrari? McLaren Renault? No no it was McLaren Mercedes who in 2007 owned 40% of McLaren 😂🤦🏼♂️

I knew LH was going to Ferrari at some point.... I wasn't surprised in the least.
I don’t want to hear any more of SkySports F1 commentators glazing Lewis and hating on Perez like last season. That was hard to watch
Is that Matt Gallagher from P1MattandTommy
Yes.
If Lewis and Ferrari actually get the W, they’ll literally write history! Hamilton legacy will be unbelievable.
P1 is getting huge!!
Matt knows he’s furious about this
Honestly I also think a lot of it is how Toto has talked about their prospects unless you can excite your driver they will leave, all Toto has done recently is throw in the towel before the seasons started
Matt has got an opportunity to be patriotic for once.
Man like Matt you know
Can you imagine the amount of Ferrari caps now at F1 races in 2025
Nice job Matt!!!
Go Matt! So proud 🥲
How about a young new driver for Mercedes
There’s a Mercedes junior in F2 this year named Kimi Antonelli. He’s worth a look.
Matt should officially join Sky Sports one day if P1 ends
Has it not come to anyone's mind when the 13th comes around Lewis will be announced for this season with Ferrari on car reveal day. Dreading it honestly.
Matt just woke up lol

Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari is just going to be a cringe fest....

Wait, who is going to be the #1 driver at Ferrari? I'm sure Charles signed his contract thinking he is #1, but Lewis will never be #2.
Yes, P1 Matt! I literally only watched this video to hear his opinions 😆

vettel in mercedes?
Does this guy shower? If he looks like this when he appears in tv, then...
Mercedes wants a white super hero image, however there is only one white super hero on the grid
Hamilton's last couple of years at Mercedes with George matching him have got him wondering just how well was he looked after in all those years at Mercedes. He needs to know if he still has what it takes.
2025 is either going to reshape or reaffirm my thoughts on Hamilton, while I've no doubt he is good, I don't believe he's as good as his years at Mercedes have made him out to be. I think we've seen that in the last two years, and I hope for the sport that I'm wrong about the next two years.
