Hi, how do you do? I would like to ask please for a problem solving in Abaqus, that I haven’t been able to find in the web in general nor in YT. The statement of the problem I’m looking for is a pretty common one I guess, and it is a structure with a pre-tension in the cables, such as in a cable bracing or the ropes for stabilizing an antenna mast. The most similar thing I’ve found is bolt force, or node displacement in an intermediate step, or cooling a part of the wire as a step, but it’s not what I’m actually trying to simulate. Nor is the prestressed of wires in concrete. Any help on the matter will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can you tell how to extract the mode shapes and stress column vectors in a dat file for further calculations in matlab? If you have any video/document related to this please let me know.

I'm currently struggling with extracting the mode shapes and frequencies from my Abaqus model with a python script into a data file. Have you found any answers to your question? Please let me know if so. I think that would help me as well.

Thanks for the helpful video. I just have a simple question: It is written as a result of Mode 1 that Freq = 29.257 (cycles/time). Does it mean it is 29.257 rad/s, or that the period of beam is 0.215 s? What does this value of 33792 represent?

Have you found the answer for the units of cycles/time?

@@eashansaikia1427 Unfortunately not. I will let you know if I find out something.

@@aleksamilijas2618 I also found out another issue. If I build my model with mm instead of meters, and also scale the material properties in terms of mm, I see that the cycles/time scales down by a factor of 30. Not sure why this is happening

(cycle/time) is Hertz in this analysis. I checked theoretically.

Excellent video, Now i have an idea of reading mode shape of the beam. Depends on the stiffness magnitude the mode shapes are arranged in the order of lateral bending(lowest stiffness), twisting, transverse bending(Highest stiffness) for the first mode corresponding mode shape. even when we have same value of stiffness; second mode onwards it follows some order of mode shape? could you explain the difference?
