Thanks for the videos, i really enjoy them. I was wondering whether the video you have mentioned @ 10:27 will be uploaded soon. It sounds a promise to me :). It is actually an analysis that takes into account the Rayleigh and/or composite modal damping rather than the structural damping. Would be great to see their contribution in the results.
    Best wishes,

Thanks for the video! It's a very informative presentation. I have a question about the harmonic base excitation problem of an elastic column with fixed-roller boundary conditions. I want to obtain the frequency response function of this column over a certain frequency range. Firstly, I defined the frequency step to extract the mode shapes and natural frequencies of the column. Then, I defined the SSD Modal step to obtain the transmissibility curve of the column over this frequency range. In the Load Module, I wanted to apply a harmonic displacement base motion to the fixed end of the column, but Abaqus did not allow me to do so. The displacement base motion must be in the form y=Y*exp(i*w*t) where Y is the constant displacement magnitude of 1 mm and i is a complex number. How can I define this input as a boundary condition to the fixed end of the column?

Thank you for sharing 2 videos on steady state dynamics. They were very much useful. You mentioned in this video that you will have one more session on damping other than structural damping. Can you please share the link for that video if its available? Also do you have video on setting up thermo-mechanical abaqus input file? Thanks in advance

thank you sir for posting this video
could you please tell me how can i give base excitation at fixed end and can you tell how damping is effecting over this graph

    Very explicative! thanks!
just one question, Why does it happens the lowe amplification point in the middle of the resonance peak?

It is showing only the real component of the results. To change it you can do [Result-->Options-->Complex Form->Magnitude]

Hello Sir, Would it possible for you to upload a tutorial to do Transient analysis of Smart(PZT-5H) Composite Material (Simply Supported Cantilever Beam).

Hi, i finally found out why, its because of the result settings. You get that dip, when the complex form in result settings is set to real, you want to choose Magnitude instead. Then you get the "correct" picture. That explanation is, that the real part has negative values, they become positive when you choose to do the magnitude (in the XY creation) out of the Real part of the resulting frequency spectrum.
Maybe the helps somebody in the future
