    Thanks for such a piece of fruitfull information. One thing more I want to ask about interactions, is there any option in Abaqus which can automatically detect the contact surfaces and Tied them, in case of many elements.

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  5 лет назад

      Yes we have, In general contact algorithms we can define interaction by contact surfaces or automatically.
      However, interaction with automatic option computationally more expensive but useful when we don't know which surfaces are going to be interact each other during event.
      I'll explain this in next video tutorial also.

      There can be many possibilities of errors. So plz let me know what error you are facing.
      However, i talked on convergence issue in Abaqus/standard in below videos -
      02.3 linear and nonlinear analysis in FEA/CAE
      02.4 linear and nonlinear analysis in FEA/CAE
      I suggest to go with all videos, many important topic like hourglass and share locking, implicit & explicit, material - geometry- boundary non-linearity..and many more i discussed.

    Thanks your video is very interesting. But I would like to know how I can model a crack going through two or three composite layers like sandwich structure or masonry wall and what kind of Interaction/Contact should be used.

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  4 года назад +1

      Dear,
      You have to go with Abaqus XFEM. If there is delamination of layers than only you need to worry about contact type between layer.
      Otherwise simply define laminate in property..no contact required between laminas.

    • @joonabil
      @joonabil 4 года назад

      Thanks but I need to model the crack going from one material to other and in the same time could be delamination exist. Actually I used XFEM technique in both adherend members and also in the adhesive layer between them. And I provided damage failure criteria Maxps in both adherend members and also in the adhesive layer between them. In addition I defined cohesive surfaces as interaction property between the adherends and the adhesive. After completed analysis the crack propagated only in the first adhrend and started in the adhesive layer but didn’t crack it completely and then a lot of cracks generated in the second adherend without any of them completely separated it, so kindly could you please help me to solve it.

      For 2D elements and plane stress/strain elements contact direction is important. selection of direction is very easy, you have to select the colour from that direction it touch another component.

      @simtech0598  4 года назад

      Dear,
      In general for RCC you can utilise embedded connection. But as told that you want to define an friction coefficient between reinforcement and metal beams, you should go with manual contact i.e. contact pair/general contact.
      However, to do this modelling work will increase. You should make cuts in your reinforcement wherever you have metal bars and contact need to assign.
