He may not have the full understanding of what his mom did but I guarantee that once he gets older and comprehends that he witnessed his mom murdering Chris, he will be traumatized. So sick to put this murder on her own 4-year old son.
That she did this in front of her four year old...so heinous. So evil. She didn't care about him, what she put him through. Not a mother! Mothers protect and nurture. They don't murder in front of their child.

In Crystal's case the only one who seems genuinely affected is the poor friend who found her father. The mother and step sister are trying to convince she's innocent. She is a monster. And medication isn't the reason for murder.
Eh not really. She's affected for sure but it sounds like they were using her. That's what she gets honestly chick is cold hearted but yeah birds of a feather.. it's fact that meth is being used which is hardcore, they said they were staying there for her but then she leaves and they continue to live there and go to sell stuff there for money which is wild the first couple hours of her gone, and not only that the friend did the one thing the girl who's housing and apparently feeding them asked her not to do and broke into the shed lol 😂 like it all worked out for best but if this murder didn't happen that would not be a friend I'd want who's breaking locks and going into places they know they're not supposed to be. Probably thought there was something expensive in there or who knows. Seems odd. Crystal is a brat. The father should of sent her to looney bin
First case... as a police academy graduate, she should've known better! You DON'T pull a gun unless you intend to use it, and just removing a magazine doesn't mean anything... there's a bullet in the chamber that gets left behind when you take the magazine out! SHE KNEW THAT! NEVER pull out a gun, even if you intend to intimidate someone. No, she intended it.

That was four years ago he had another baby he was making up excuses for his behavior. If him and his ex had that bond why didn’t they have another kid why have one with this woman
I was in the same situation once. My then husband was still in love with his es-wife. He denied it, but in my heart I knew. They were each other's first love, and they had an abortion because they were unwed and not financially ready at the time. Throughout our marriage, we were happy but every years, he always pulled away when it was her birthday or their wedding anniversary. After 3 years, I decided that it was enough, so I divorced him. I didn't try to hurt him or have him murdered.
I don't know why but I find the kid recounting the details of the murder is the most upsetting thing of all. God I hope he's able to have some kind of normal life and forget everything he saw.
Actually, I found his testimony to be the highlight of this segment. Blunt, no-nonsense, straight facts. Must be an investigator's dream. (you know what they say about the truth & children). But yes, of course I get what you mean. And if you're struggling to know why, I would suggest it might be because you consider that no one, and especially no child, should ever be submitted to something like this, and neither do I.
The mom was a cold blooded killer. She knowingly committed this act in front of the child assuming he would have trouble articulating what he saw. The child is young and has delayed speech. Not sure if it was from current trauma or known condition. Either way she knew damn well what she was doing and deserves a max sentence.
I'm watching this thousands of miles from the scene in Belgium and I have tears iny eyes , i hope and pray this little angel will grow up and heal from this unapeakable crime done by the very woman that should've had his wellbeing top of her list
It is such a shame how some mothers are always trying to help their daughters to hide the murders and evil they do. Her mother should also be prosecuted for trying to help her daughter to fool the police.
Even worse, if I heard correctly, her mother now has custody of the poor little boy. She obviously did such a great job with the daughter. How messed up and brainwashed is he going to turn out? I hope someone is monitoring his home life and he is getting the support he needs. Bless his heart Lord and watch over that sweet child. 🙏
@@ruthlody7300 I bet she's already trying to con him into changing his story so she can have her daughter out of jail. She's an enabler and lazy too I bet not wanting to look after a small child.
Her demeanor in the interrogation is exactly the opposite of someone who accidentally killed a partner. It’s INSANE how little social awareness these idiots have. I can’t wrap my head around being so goddamn dumb that you think blaming the guy you just shot is going to make you look innocent.
I don't know how I would react if I had killed my husband by accident, but it sure wouldn't be like how she did.. I don't think I could talk or think..
She has a personality disorder. That pretty much explains the entire situation, what she did, why she did it, and her absurd reaction to it. That poor kid. He’ll be better off without her. Borderline PD mothers breed anti-social sons and severely depressed or borderline daughters. Its not stupidity. He wanted to leave, and she killed him for it, because the BPD’s worst nightmare is abandonment. They are a never ending self-sabotaging train wreck. They are often intelligent, charming, capable people......but for their closest relationship, they are a nightmare.
That poor kid! This is so awful! My heart goes out to Chris’ family and the family of the little boy. I hope that awful woman doesn’t have contact with her son ever again. What she did was not an accident, it was intentional, vile and evil. And in front of her son no less! So cruel. The trauma she inflicted on her son will last a lifetime. Not too mention the pain she caused Chris’ family.
I really wish they'd stop blaming murders on mental health - there's a very simple truth in life: Some people are just evil. That's character, not mental health.
Exactly 😢. When he gets older and understands that his testimony helped convict her he is going to blame himself and struggle with it for life. Even though he did the right thing it’s still his mommy. I’m a say a quick prayer for him and his current and future trauma 😢❤
@@penskepc2374 I’m not sure if you’re aware, but everyone is different and deal with things differently. Something that may have been traumatic to you, may not have been for someone else. And vice versa.
I have so many questions about the 2nd story. How did her mom find out the dad was dead? It said she called Crystal after school to tell her but how would she have known? What was the deal with the other girls parents allowing them to just move into Crystal’s house? One of the dads buys a gun from a minor for $20 after her dad supposedly killed himself & your daughter is living in that house with her? Did this girl really do that good of a job cleaning after blowing part of her dad’s head off & dragging him out to the shed? Seems like their would have been a lot of blood &/or brain matter everywhere. Definitely a perplexing story. Sounds like a bunch of irresponsible adults allowing their kids to run the show. Lucky their girls weren’t hurt, killed or falsely accused of being involved.
I found her moms demeanor very odd. This was her ex husband and her child that committed the murder, no emotions. The vibe i got was "this is what you get". I think it all seemed very odd and misleading.
There is an 8 episode podcast called "Killing Dad" that is about this case. Lots of details left out here. I recommend if you like True Crime podcasts.
ONLY 27yrs + eligible for parole at 13yrs...for murder!?? It's unbelievable. She shot an unarmed person in the back of the head...lied about him attacking her...endangering a minor w/the shooting w/in range of her son. I just saw a case of a 16yr old who murdered a girl and he got tried as an adult, receiving LIFE in prison + poss parole at 25yrs. This adult woman only getting 27yrs total is a total failure of the judicial system. a travesty of justice.
Absolutely, it was basically an execution. Something else that struck me was when they said she's facing "5 years to life for murder". So apparently it's possible to get as little as five years for murder? WTF? I seriously hope that's wrong...
She didn’t shoot him because he was taking too long to leave she was trying to force him to not leave that’s why when he didn’t respond to her narcissistic threats. She snapped and pretty much said to herself. If I can’t have you nobody else can.
And to try and smear his name after she did that is just icing on the egocentric sociopath cake really. Ah yeah sure sociopath her yelled and swore at you and said "F your crab"...that you slaved over for 5 minutes. Poor love you get to go free...not.

How do you tell people that your father committed suicide without producing a body or holding a memorial service? Why didn’t anyone question anything and why didn’t the authorities catch wind of this? A couple of weeks did pass..
Weird how her father's employers did not even wonder why he wasn't showing up to work anymore, or if he had any friends that called him with no replies for weeks
Claudia killed Chris because he was leaving. She probably has borderline personality disorder. They start fights at odd hours, late into the night. Chris wanted to go to be. Claudia came home late after working at the restaurant and started an elaborate recipe. This, when she has a four-year old son. These are red flags for emotional disturbance. Especially fighting in front of her son. Claudia's explanation to the detective in the interview was entirely self serving. She lied to her mother about Chris beating her. Claudia would have been a dangerous cop, had she ever been hired. Their pre-screening psychological evaluations would likely have detected her disturbance and she would not have been hired.
Yea RIGHT! 😂🤣😂🤣 omfg are you aware they WANT power tripping angry people! HELLLOOOOO…..and clearly ANY tests done are NOT too weed out psychos……Christ …..you totally deaf to the last oh 100yrs of police thugs!? Nations most violent and biggest gang!

They made raising kids a competition, and not a shared duty sadly. Plus mom was stepping out on the relationship. Not a lot of teamwork there unfortunately.
Wow her friends parents are beyond irresponsible! They let their teen daughter just live and freeload with another teen who's dad just died? The the father buys a gun from this teen for 20 bucks! They were taking advantage of a terrible situation too, disgusting.
Indeed, guns rarely just ''go off''. Someone usually has to pull the trigger, whether voluntarily or not. At the very least, I suppose what she did would be considered as 'criminal negligence'. At the very least.
If your partner wants to break up, just let them break up with you. If it’s not working, it’s not working. Don’t let a simple breakup ruin your and everyone else’s life. 😔
😮 So this murderer can get out of jail in 13 years for INTENTIONALLY taking a person's life with his back to her makes me have ZERO FAITH in the WORTHLESS INJUSTICE system. 😠
Imagine the trauma Claudia's son could suffer from seeing and hearing his Mum shoot Chris. Claudia is just unhinged and didn't even consider him in her decision.
after listening to the podcast, this is not even a close representation of how this happened. She was not heartless or reckless. she was unstable and in need of help. Her dad as well. he was disturbed.
That is the 1st thing you learn . Never point a gun at someone Always check inside the chamber and never ever have your finger on the trigger unless you plan to fire.
I would really like to know how the parents of these two friends of Crystal Howell let their teenage daughters to go to a mountain side cabin without any adult supervision?
I knowwwww... when I heard that I knew there was something seriously wrong with her. Those are not the type remarks you make in a situation when you are truly distraught. It showed what triggered her, showed she still felt anger or like she was wronged by him over that; it showed her narcissism because she was still caring about her trivial feelings over the cooking episode rather than caring more that her boyfriend was dead. It was as if she was whining to a friend about what her bf had done to her that day instead of actually giving the important details of how she shot her bf & killed him. She was crying over herself not over the bf being dead. It is scary that there are so many dangerous people out there that seem normal. One has to be very careful who you choose as a partner, and never ever stay in toxic relationships or engage people who display toxic behaviors. The signs & red flags are almost always visible from the start but sadly, many people choose to ignore them and they continue to pursue a relationship with those individuals.
When they show Claudia in the interrogation room by herself at just before ten minutes… she sits back and when you look at her face for just a moment you can see a flash of who she really is. She looks extremely annoyed and it’s a bit chilling. I guess what can you expect from someone who would traumatize any four year old by murdering someone in front of them. She’s claiming she’s waving it around thinking it’s unloaded so it surprised her,she would be more distraught knowing how close she came to killing her son. And look what she’s done to him. Her sentence is ridiculous. Don’t let her out ever.
Taking the magazine out doesn't mean the gun is unloaded. Treat every gun as if it is loaded!! She didn't know there was a bullet in the chamber, yet she got through police academy training? Sounds far-fetched to me...
You see how Claudia was trying so hard to portray herself as a victim to the Detective after killing her boyfriend, she was trying to take advantage of the unfair narrative that men are violent and evil. Kudos to the Detectives for not buying her crap and been unbiased.
The reality is that 96% of all violent crime around the world is committed by men. Yes, she was a rare exception, but in general, men are more violent. I hate that cases like this make misogynists feel justified.
How ironic that the father said taking medication for mental health was like putting a pillow over his daughter's face. 😥 Sometimes people need meds. Clearly this was one of those times.
That poor little one. Not only because of what he witnessed his mother do but because of the way the court system refuses to allow children to heal passed trauma. They won't just use the footage of the child's 1st interview or breakthrough session with a therapist. Oh no, the person on trial has more rights than the child does & the defense has a right to question all witnesses. So for how ever many years a case takes, that child is forced to relive it. & heaven help them of they have a breakthrough & remember something their brain had been protecting them from. It's child abuse by the system on behalf of a criminal.
Sadly, my biggest takeaway came with the story of Crystal Howell. It was said that her father left his wife after learning that he was not the biological father of their oldest daughter. That disturbed me in a lot of ways. While I don't know the entire story of their family, I do know what it's like to learn that the child you are raising is not blood related to you. I learned this when my oldest daughter was 13 years old. I suspected it before that but confirmed it when she was 13 and suffering from an illness that depended on family history. Guess what, Bubba? She is still your child just as the child I was raising is still my daughter. You still have to man up and be the parent your child depends on. That responsibility doesn't go away just because you don't share the same DNA. There is already enough kids that don't have an active Father in their lives, why add to that? I didn't embrace the news either when my wife confirmed my oldest daughter wasn't my biological child. But it didn't change my responsibility. The hardest part was telling our daughter that I wasn't her biological father. She understandably felt betrayed and lied to. It took her awhile to get over it. Now, at 40 years old she is closer to me than anyone else in my life.
@randy5069 You are a very good man. You put your daughter's needs and welfare above your own hurt and disappointment. In return, you have a rewarding relationship and are father and daughter in all the ways that count. Well done!
Well by extension, it would probably actually be far more than three... think of all the relatives, close family members, & friends, on both sides. And this, of course, applies to every such case.
This Claudia shows a complete sign of Psychopathy Narcissistic Personality she did not even care about her son which he will be traumatized for life. She deserves what she gave. In my sincere opinion anyone that kills other person intentionally show get the same destiny that gave to the victim.
Exactly an eye for an eye you want and choose to be evil and callous well the justice system should be of vice versa to you. You should get your just deserved end of
How awful for a 4 year old too have to witness this, and have to be interrogated. You can tell this child is telling the truth. He’s going to need so much therapy for his trauma. 😢
This what gets me. The mom said they were fighting and the boy backed her story. They never asked him if his mommy was being pushed or hit. With that said, I hope that little boy is in counseling and I hope and pray that he has a wonderful life. Prayers to the family who lost a loved one.
Yeah, hella sad and messed up story and I definitely don’t side with a mom who would even pull out a gun over an argument AT ALL, let alone with her baby boy right there, but I didn’t see how the interview with a 4 year old was so convincing…we already knew she shot him and he died. Did I miss something? A 4yo couldn’t tell if it was intentional or accidental…premeditated or heat of the moment…reckless or negligent…etc…just not sure how his 4yo testimony was probative…she shot him and she said that…either way, she’s horrible.
I’m pretty sure this wasn’t the whole interview. Either way it doesn’t really matter. She shot him. Period. She was flinging a gun around with her child sleeping on the friggin sofa. Wtaf. Fighting violently in front of her child. Ffs. A guy who remembers his baby every year and takes the time to message his ex doesn’t sound like a mean person to me.
@hallia97. After this crime he unfortunately had to witness his mother do that poor baby boy then witnessed a second murder of his grandmother how traumatising for him. Read the first comment the girl wrote on this explaining that she lived in the town they lived in and that poor likle previous baby boy witnessed his own Father kill his mother the baby boys grandmother so for him at some a young age to have witnessed two murders of his mammys boyfriend and his own family member his own grandmother . This little boy is going to need countless amounts of councilling when he is that bit older. As a child he will need trama Therapie the one that specialises in mainly children and some play therapy too that will help him trust again and show him he can feel secure and safe again not all family are bad, evil , people. Play therapy will teach him there is family blood family and others close to him who love him and want to shelter him from those type of bad environments and situations he should not of being in. Well I hope he is healing and copen so much better and a will grow to be a Happy man and no more people round him will hurt him or put him into scary, sad , Traumatic situations that he should not have to deal with. You never involve or talk to children about adult problems arguments or issues it's too much to burden them with and they don't have the full strength physically emotional to deal with adult situations and should not be put into that pressure cooker that only adults can deal with not their little brains and thoughts can't adjust too. Its not fair to them and there maturity level is not there yet to deal with them scenario's..😫😱💔😭😢🤢🙈🙉🙊 👊🏻 🫠🤔😕

He may not have the full understanding of what his mom did but I guarantee that once he gets older and comprehends that he witnessed his mom murdering Chris, he will be traumatized. So sick to put this murder on her own 4-year old son.
He's a smart little boy I hope his dad's family get him since her mother is an enabler who created that entitled brat.
That she did this in front of her four year old...so heinous. So evil. She didn't care about him, what she put him through. Not a mother! Mothers protect and nurture. They don't murder in front of their child.
17:26 _Kid said he don't even wanna color anymore I felt all of that.. just wait until he gets older or will hurt worse😢_
Wow indeed, @WantSumCheese! Hopefully the child will get healing and justice!
You don’t point a gun, unless you’re going to shoot.. also, every gun is to be considered loaded.. I’m not a cop but I know this, as does every responsible gun owner..
That sweet boy will be replaying that scene in his head forever. Such a tender age to experience such deep and life altering trauma.
"It was supposed to be unloaded!"
This young lady was on her way to being a beat cop, scary.

Yes, it was a naughty gun. And it pointed itself at him and pulled its trigger before she knew it and the bullet just flew into the air. Jesus wept.

@@madsdee7803 I totally agree.
Not an accident! She committed cold blooded murder, premeditated and purposeful.
She clearly knew what she’s doing and her own voice gave her immediately away. Even she did not believe her own words.
I can't believe they gave that poor boy to the mom who basically helped cover it up
Poor child still had so much innocence and trust for his mom that he believed his mom can fix the man she killed right in front of him
Just shows how abusive she was that "fix" became code word for handling a screw up.
i think that's probably what she told him she was doing.
Children that age should never know such horrific things by the parent. Heart wrenching.😢
It's unfortunate, but his mother made him to be a witness against her!💯
In Crystal's case the only one who seems genuinely affected is the poor friend who found her father.
Why isnt any1 talking about the fact that he was cheating in the name of deceased child?😮
"He knows I'm not gonna shoot him" OMG I don't think it gets crazier than this.

Chris was battling complicated grief from losing his daughter. That's why he was not himself. My heart breaks for the families and the boy. 😢
That was four years ago he had another baby he was making up excuses for his behavior. If him and his ex had that bond why didn’t they have another kid why have one with this woman
He was cheating in the name of a dead child😮
I was in the same situation once. My then husband was still in love with his es-wife. He denied it, but in my heart I knew. They were each other's first love, and they had an abortion because they were unwed and not financially ready at the time. Throughout our marriage, we were happy but every years, he always pulled away when it was her birthday or their wedding anniversary.
After 3 years, I decided that it was enough, so I divorced him. I didn't try to hurt him or have him murdered.
She didn’t sound like she had any remorse . She purposely pulled that trigger and killed her boyfriend . It was nit an accident .
It was definitely nit.
Yeah she took the time to load that gun and point it at the back of his head. All planned.

Wow with a lying grandma who lied in the 911 saying her daughter getting abused and in reality I’m sure she new her daughter shit her bf
Probably not... But lets hope so
He'll need therapy, but he'll be okay. Especially with his mom in prison. Hopefully he'll be around good people.
The mom was a cold blooded killer. She knowingly committed this act in front of the child assuming he would have trouble articulating what he saw. The child is young and has delayed speech. Not sure if it was from current trauma or known condition. Either way she knew damn well what she was doing and deserves a max sentence.

These two women are classic psychopath so don't expect normal behavior. If they cry, they're faking it. Their whole lives are a lie.

Agreed
I found her moms demeanor very odd. This was her ex husband and her child that committed the murder, no emotions. The vibe i got was "this is what you get". I think it all seemed very odd and misleading.
There is an 8 episode podcast called "Killing Dad" that is about this case. Lots of details left out here. I recommend if you like True Crime podcasts.
I thought crystal just lied to her friends to justify why her dad won’t come back
Crystal lied that the mum called to say her dad committed suicide. It's just that in the video they showed a phone ringing with mums name

Yup
No the friends were involved not apart of the murder but knew her plan.
My thoughts exactly
A gun like that doesn't just go off. It takes some hard pressure to fire.
👍
Indeed, guns rarely just ''go off''. Someone usually has to pull the trigger, whether voluntarily or not. At the very least, I suppose what she did would be considered as 'criminal negligence'. At the very least.
If your partner wants to break up, just let them break up with you. If it’s not working, it’s not working. Don’t let a simple breakup ruin your and everyone else’s life. 😔

@@carolsummers8734 Are you asking or is it rhetorical?
She confessed right from the outset, she couldn't even hold back bitching to the detective about how he couldn't care less that she cooked.
Like she’s bored out of her mind and can’t be bothered. She deserves life or she will probably do it again. She’s too hotheaded and controlling.
Taking the magazine out doesn't mean the gun is unloaded. Treat every gun as if it is loaded!! She didn't know there was a bullet in the chamber, yet she got through police academy training? Sounds far-fetched to me...
When the little boy was telling what happen was so sad 😭 I can’t believe she shot her boyfriend in front of her child aggggh what a POs
Her mother needs to be put in jail too for not mentioning anything on the phone call at all.
Yet, she has custody of the boy. 😮

"She's not a monster". Ugh...she blew her dad's head off with a shotgun as he slept. I think that's a monster.
How ironic that the father said taking medication for mental health was like putting a pillow over his daughter's face. 😥 Sometimes people need meds. Clearly this was one of those times.
Why do people think they can fabricate a story, and we'll just believe them? Just tell the truth and keep it moving.
Well done!
Wow. So glad she never became a police officer. I feel so bad for her 4 year old son. 😢😢😢
She was going to be a police officer can you imagine this unhinged person as a police person, WOW scary.
She actually ruined 3 lives, Chris, her son and her life. I feel sad for her son.

How awful for a 4 year old too have to witness this, and have to be interrogated. You can tell this child is telling the truth. He’s going to need so much therapy for his trauma. 😢

She wasn't even upset that she killed him. 😮
Of course she wasn't. She wouldn't have killed him otherwise.
It isn't really surprising since sociopaths are like crocodiles without empathy. He was nothing more than a walking wallet to her.
That case with that boy, it got me... I hope he'll be ok and get through that. Very sad and complicated for him, im sure of it.
Exactly my point. That boy can end up being traumatized for life.
Wow some people have no soul, that's pure evil.... Sadly Chris can't be fixed!!!
Call me old fashioned but if your girlfriend tazers you, that would be the time to walk🤷🏻♂️
This chick is so full of crap. He was leaving and she didn’t want him to leave after she cooked for him. She was in full rage. I’m so tired of people that pull out guns and then say I didn’t mean to shoot I didn’t mean to kill but you’re the one who pulled a gun out?!? I think anybody that pulls a gun out you’re automatically guilty. If you’re arguing with somebody, there’s no reason to pull a gun out unless you’re going to use it.
I'm surprised Crystal's friends didn't go to the shed immediately after Crystal left. If someone told me just do not go in somewhere, that would be the first place I would go, first chance I got...Had she said nothing, they probably wouldn't have even found the body.
I still wanna know why she left and what she planned to do because she said she was visiting her mom but she clearly wasn’t. She was in a motel.
Probably trying to use her friends as a scapegoat so they could be arrested and interrogated while she could escape? Maybe framing her friend like she said in the video?
Well I mean, when I'm visiting with someone, if they tell me not to go in a certain room, I won't be trying to sneak into it every chance I get.
She was happy she did this, you can see it. She’s a crazy xxxxx..
RIP Chris.
This is horrifying! I hope this child finds love and strength on the other side of these tragedies and becomes a healthy and happy child.
The lady delivering Adlibs just gets me laughing sometimes 🤣🤣
It is impressive how the Detectives were able to flaw Claudia's pretence of not intending to murder Chris.
It’s impressive how many comments you can make on one video.
@@KahlessTheUnforgettable 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeh… I noticed that too in the comments section! Hee heee🤭🤣🇦🇺✌️🌼
@@KahlessTheUnforgettable p.s. as a cadet, she would have known there was a bullet in the chamber, when you take out the magazine! 🫢😳👀
@@KahlessTheUnforgettable It's impressive how fast you follow in his footsteps🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@KahlessTheUnforgettable I comment as I watch the video. I prefer that to writing one long bulky comment.
