Metal Slug 6 One Life Game (Level-8, Marco)

It's been a while since my last full game run, huh?
Playing as Marco quite honestly feels like another Easy Mode to the game; his handgun is so powerful on its own oftentimes it will suffice on its own, or even out damage other weapons like your melee strikes or even power guns. Unfortunately, my fingers are pretty freaking slow at firing, so I can't take full advantage of the hand cannon that Marco carries, but still enough to get the job done ;)
While my previous 3 MS6 runs are done on the PS2 version of the game, I finally got a machine that can handle the Atomiswave version of this game, whose sound effects I MUCH prefer, simply because the vulcan cannons don't sound nearly as annoying as the PS2 counterparts. Unfortunately, I no longer have my video editing software I used with my old machine, hence why I'm uploading this as a single 23GB (!!!) video.

Ah yes, the classic long final mission
Following the tradition of Metal Slug 3 and X (And most of them...? I don't quite remember)
MS3 and 6 is my favorite because they are like the ultimate stories with AWESOME FINALE. You team up with enemy army, on a long mission with awesome boss and mini bosses.
@@klauserji yeah I always thought teaming up with the rebel army was epic.
MS3 is my personal fav (though I haven’t had the chance to play 6 and 7) It’s final level has something like 4 mini bosses, one of which had two stages, an arena section and then it also had the final boss.
Metal slug 3 final mission is about 30-35 minutes long, like playing this whole game
The flawless animation in these games are way ahead of their time. To this day, they still look superb compare to what we see in video games these days.
Yeah...the entire art direction was incredible. Some of the best video game art ever.
These games ate more of my quarters than MK and SF2 combined! Everything from the art to the graphics and controls, creativity, fast paced etc

We live in a world of fear now where everyone just keeps doing the same things to stay safe. Back then people took bigger risks when making games and movies. Corporations know that they can make trash and people eat it up anyway now. You can take a risk on a new movie or remake the lion king and even if it looks absolutely terrible it still makes billions of dollars.

The Metal Slug series was the *Best* reason to own a Neo Geo back in the early 90s. And in 2003 I took mine apart and mounted it into a cabinet and put it in my game room, and it still works without problems to this day.

After the weird place the Metal Slug series was during 4 & 5, This (6) feels like a far more fitting "next generation" of the Metal Slug brand in terms of ideas, plotline, level design, and others. I can totally see that downhill rolling rocket tank existing in a Metal Slug game for the Neo Geo hypothetically. The in-game world and everyone in it feels like they're just the same as you left them, just on a new mission many years later with (again, hypothetically) decorations and a new platoon under them.
(Movie Trailer Narration Voice)...And things have changed significantly during their years off the battlefield, like suddenly having new guns to accommodate for a reserve weapon, and gold doubloons magically appear out of thin air by the thousands, enriching and irritating them at once. When the Venusians arrive, the natural predators of the once-feared Martians, the Regular, Rebel, and Martian armies unite, and must work together with their respective older and newer generations, to crush this gruesome enemy unlike any other they've seen before!

_Metal Slug 4_ was just a lazy sequel with the same enemies used from the previous sequel _Metal Slug 3._ At least Metal Slug 5 was a little more original withat KICKASS final boss!

It is very cool how the tank explodes a few seconds after Marco abandons it, it is like
Tank gets damaged.
Marco: oh shit! oh shit!.
He gets out jumping and then the tanks explodes, as the queen alien falls, he also notices he saved himself from crash landing if the tank didn't explode.
Marco: That was close...
Then the explosion of the queen alien appears.
Marco: Oh my god not again, not again.. NOOOOOO!.
And after a few moments of suspense, he survives again.
Marco: Wow... you know, I've never been so happy to see you, Morden.
Morden: You really are hard to kill.. aren't you?.

It's good yes,but not the best of the metal slug series,but overall the music bangs sometimes.
I love the final missions where the rebels come to lend a hand, it makes me sad that they don’t actually do any damage in some ports of the games.
The real question is how not to die in this hard game I tried not to die but this is 100% impossible

This is definitely one of the better MS6 runs on RUclips. Everyone else I see is playing either the bowdlerised version with no blood, plays terribly and has clearly done no practice whatsoever, or both.
Meanwhile we have XSquareS here, clearing the game on one life like an absolute boss.

One of my BIGGEST achievements in arcade gaming was to end metal slug 2 on hard lvl with first life when i was a kid. Awesome days.

Sou fã do jogo. Mas não se compara a metal slug 3, 2 e 1. A 5 também ficou boa, mas a 4 e a 6 virou um lixo de gráfico e criatividade. Acabaram com meu jogo, o melhor jogo do mundo.
O nível hard não é difícil no metal slug basicamente é a versão normal.
A versão fácil do metal slug 6 sua arma básica é a metralhadora já no hard é a pistola

At least its something a bit more sensible than Fighting an Elder God who got lost on his way to a Dungeons & Dragons aborted SNK arcade sidescraller in Metal Slug 5! ;) (thats pure speculation BTW but it wouldn't surprise me if it was a case of making the most of assets you've already made and the game wont get made so we may as well put it to use somewhere)

Ahhh... man memories used to play when I was a kid back in 2010
I just realized something. You know how everyone mocks the aliens in Signs for running around on an alien planet stark naked? The Venusians/Invaders in this game have the same problem. The Martians in previous Metal Slug games at least spent most of their time in their flying saucers, only very rarely setting foot on Earth, and when they did they at least grabbed their sidearms. The Venusians/Invaders run and fly around not just naked despite their bipedal structure implying they might very well want some clothes, but completely unarmed too, relying on their rollout melee attack

That's Chinese actually, the whole stage is a Chinese stage. and the word "電影" means "Moive".

PiTTa I'm sorry, I don't see what you mean. I didn't get hit by anything on 15:03. If you meant 15:05, the electric ball only becomes harmful when it descends, so you can pass through it while it's hanging in the air waiting to "activate", if that makes sense.
