    When it had its world premiere at Carthay Circle Theater in 1937, after this song, everybody gave the film a standing ovation. The audience included guests, critics, the stars and producers of Snow White, and Walt himself. For Disney, this was the just the beginning

      Besides I would imagine they would do a steam rail tour called The Disney's Folly Express from London Paddington to Paignton in Devon on the 21st of December 2037 to commemorate 100 years of the film with Sir Nigel Gresley's A3 Pacific No 60103 Flying Scotsman pulling the train because there is an old Cinema formally called the Torbay Picture House next door to Paignton Railway Station that is a Grade 2 Listed Building that the local authorities are trying to restore and reopen in all its glory www.paigntonpicturehouse.org/

      Fun fact. This was considered Disney’s Folly as everyone thought Walt Disney would never pull it off. And in Carthay Circle Theatre in December of 1937, when Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released, everyone loved it and praised it as Walt Disney’s TRUE Masterpiece. 100 years later, they’re still producing wonderful hits and a few misses. But we’ll never forget the first. The fairest of them all.

    There's something very specific about the way it all sounds - that sort of foggy, distant quality that I think is just an artifact of how recordings sounded in the 30s - that I've always liked. It's part of what makes early Disney films like this or Fantasia so interesting, and with "improved" technology is something that probably couldn't have even been reproduced twenty years after this was made, let alone today.

    • @mollylikesspace
      @mollylikesspace 6 лет назад +24

      Ben Boatwright Productions agreed, singers from that time had a specific sound to their voices as well, don't know if it's completely because of the technology..but all their voices sound very loud and choir-ish and I really like that sound...I think it sounds more authentic when there's age on a song, or if you can hear how old it is just by listening

    • @etcetera1995
      @etcetera1995 4 года назад +7

      Yeah, I think there was an actual study about nostalgia for the flaws of older technology, such as static on worn out VHS tape or imperfections in old audio recordings.

    This music is so moving and touches your heart and soul, if anybody does not like this, I truly feel sorry for them. Everything about this song, and the movie is perfection from start to finish. I wish Disney would go back to this kind of movie making and also this type of music and singing. The classic Disney movies are so classy and elegant, and also timeless, they will always be alive in the hearts of the young of heart and people who appreciate quality and substance. I am so glad I am one of those kind of people. :)

    There's something about the part where Snow White and the prince ride off to the castle and you hear the chorus and wedding bells that makes me feel as if you're entering Heaven's gate...into eternal happiness! In the book "Heaven", Randy Alcorn described God's kingdom as a place where we can live "happily ever after" with the Lord himself! Christ alone is the narrow path.

    i thought that i'm aromantic-but maybe only because a love like this is too good for me, i tend to lose catch of my breath. when i glimpse of the final scenes from the movie, seems like my eyes can never find the reason why bursts of tears occur.
    then i wondered, thus it happens because-only because it's perfect. i have dreamt so deep, i can't reach it. i dream of a feeling like this song. it's a kiss of heaven from heaven itself.
    i have shed so many tears, i feel like my head's going to explode as my youthful heart continues to dream of something like the final scene of where the two in-love souls enjoy their walk under the heavenly sunset-probably in loose of their own surroundings except for the love they hold to each other.
    i can't explain how it lifts my spirit while the land keeps holding me down.
    should i keep my chin up and pray? or do i lay my body and dream?
    only one thing is true,
    i will cry,
    and cry,
    some more.
    just until i dream again and it comes true, i will cry again as feathers of heaven comes brushing through my skin.
    as i write this, i will keep on crying-for that is the only thing i am capable to do; only because no one else has made anything new-neither did i so.
    will they accept me knowing i'm in deep of love? it will only confuse those who are around and
    i will
    cry again,
    dreaming.

    I am always fascinated by the older music.
    Do not get me wrong, I LOVE “Let it Go” and “Pressure”-they and other modern songs have their appeal too…
    But the thing I love about the sound in old disney films is that there is a sound texture. An oldness to it that was cleared out when newer sound technology made its steps.
    Same with old animation. It has a specialness to it that was lost in digital (like the richness in black).
    I am not the “older stuff was better”… I just think the old stuff is unique and is probably the reason why records are back

    Disney's true magical music, words, and movies are all in the classics. Not in all the teen drama channels that we got today. Walt Disney, a true animation inspiring genius. Teen drama? A total waste of money, TV, and total weirdos with unreal music and once in a while, swearing. That's not Disney, THIS is Disney=Snow white, Bambi, Lion King, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, all the stuff from Walt's brain. I'm going to show children and have my kids watch these and show them who Disney truly was :)

    You know what, not everyone loves cartoons, animation, or Walt's inspirational cartoons. I don't blame her, it's alright, not everyone likes them, it's ok for her to like different things. I got a friend at school that hates most of the cartoons i watched when i was younger, and she doesn't like Disney either lol. It's fine, she shouldn't force her to watch them, if she's got different taste in cartoons and animations, that's totally fine :)
