Forget the cam. Keep it as is. Just fix the problems and drive it. Enjoy !

I also recently got a C5, excited to see all your vids on this! I had the oil pressure sender go out just the other week lol. Not too bad of a fix though.
To get all the old oil out you have to raise the back 4 inches. Wait, it see that you know that. My bad. I have a c5 '02'
Get the oil pressure sensor extender hose ..I've done most of the repairs you are talking about on this one
