Awesome that you found it and got it back. If I were the dispatcher I would have had no idea what you guys were talking about calling it a pit bike, that’s a slang term that not everyone understands. They probably thought it was just some bicycle so they weren’t worried about it

Probably something you should call the local non-emergency police number for vs. 911.
I originally did that but they were no help so cop that was off duty that I know said to call 911 instead

Glad you got it back, my yz450f was stolen 2 years ago and it’s no where to be found. I check Facebook market place and Craigslist everyday and nothing, we just live in a world where people don’t want to work for their “toys” and would rather steal them from people that do.

100% I keep mine on a battery maintainer with gps. In a locked shed, with a bike lock on front tire. Take my bike i will find you!!!
Glad you got it back. When you are talking to a normal person about it, don't describe it as a "pit" bike. Most people who don't ride don't know what that means. Just tell them "dirtbike" or "motorcycle." Keep it simple.

Most likely the guy with the tip stole the bike or knows who did. The place was abandoned and covered but they found it somehow. Took the grips cause of prints. Waited a few weeks got scared and decided to find it

I've lived in North Carolina my whole life and I've had a few motorcycles go missing we never found my son's pit bike. Your very lucky to have a good fan base here to help . Congratulations it's never the cops that find them its always the owners that do the work and recover there bike frfr but the cops get the credit .

Most people don't know what a Pit Bike is or what a Honda QR XR 50 is either.. You could say a small Honda dirt bike or motorcycle
I had my banshee stole ten years ago and found it for sale on marketplace last week and gave the cops the guys number and Facebook profile with his listed address and the cops never went n got it and now the dude done sold it.
