Best all round 18 inch sub?
Well now that's a massive statement to make but hear me out for just a second, in the world of branded speakers the price's are sky high! To find a good 18" from most international brands under R10 000 is almost impossible, though the Lavoce SAF184.03 not only retails for under R7000.00 but the specifications indicate a well balanced driver that perhaps punch's in the heavy weight class.
This quick look at the driver reveals a balanced performance for use in a bass reflex design which is compact for touring applications or you can decide to push the boundaries and hunt for super low end bass extensions.
13mm of cone displacement is healthy but how much of it can we use?
Often we run short on Xmax way prior to running short on power handling in typical designs, yet with a quick look in winisd things are looking seriously good, the Ebp is also great for doing other designs like a 6th order bandpass or even some basic horn loading.
Next stop I will be designing the official enclosure's to hit stores in South Africa, I possibly will do a couple designs which focus on touring, extended low frequency bass reflex & maybe even Paraflex. All of that and more in part coming soon.

Sc0or, yes we so make reference to the group delay window. Though its not super important sometimes unless it is critical requirement.

Good day sir. Do you open a group delay tab from time to time? It can ban a half of designs with a good SPL graph

Yes we do look at group delay, though I'm of the opinion unless it is for critical application group delay should be taken with a pinch of salt.
