    Hello Everyone, happy Sunday! A bit of a late video as we normally aim for Saturdays. It has been super busy and a bit more difficult to publish videos weekly! We hope to be able to do that soon. We hope you enjoy the video today with a finished project. A massive thanks to Hugo, Karla and of course Simon for everything!
    Did you like the video? Let us kniw below! Thank you for watching and see you soon!

      Absolutely love your videos. Cannot wait for them to come out. All your combined efforts are making you & your family a super home. Simon is obviously used to building work & is wonderful for his knowledge & help. The stonework is beautiful. But it all comes back to team work & you all work so well together. It is a combined effort & everyone is equal to the other. Even the main builder is no good without the others in the team who may know more about something else. Andre I am impressed with you also mucking in & doing anything that needs to be done. What a lovely kind neighbour you have that's also good to know. I bet your Mam cannot wait to get into her new house. I am sure your Dad is with you all helping you on this difficult venture. As someone else said you did the correct angle on that piece of wood so he must be there. it is looking fabulous already. Thank you for doing the videos & inviting us to watch & be amazed.

    I loved your explanation of why you choose not to film many experiences in your life in Portugal. It's so thoughtful and smart to have those kinds of boundaries and to truly be in the moment with those precious times.

      Thank you Pedro! Getting there, it is a tricky language specially because so many words also exist in Spanish but they mean something totally different! haha So you have to watch it like "Sua comida esta exquisita" hahahaha Never say that!
      I'm so glad you say that, I do hope we are showing Portugal as the lovely place it truly is.

      Thank you Wendy! We cannot express how fortunate we are having someone like Simon involved in our renovation. We are building a family home with family involved which its one of a kind. My neighbours are the best. Everytime they hear us work, they come over to have a look and appreciate it. They really love the fact we are rescuing the place which was abandoned for 20 years.

    Rebuilt wall is fabulous. Great to have some of the back-breaking garden work done by your generous neighbour. Not a good idea to let the cats use the veg patch as a toilet. Apart from potentially wrecking seedlings, their faeces can carry unpleasant diseases such as toxoplasmosis, salmonella and parasites. You need to find a physical solution for keeping them off.

Omar was born in Cape Town but didnt live much there as his parents moved a bit, they still have that really strong South African accent though! Omar had the weirdest epiphany when he came to Portugal and realised the reason why he found himself so much at home it was because of the similarities. He also realised Pao Bico is definitely not south African (but widely available there as just a "normal roll") haha

      @@TheIndigoEscape Andrea, I absolutely adored Africa!! 🇿🇼 was spectacular, 🇿🇦amazing. We went bankrupt 😩buying spices, masalas, biltong, coffee, Honesty chocolate, I even came home with a beautiful handcrafted coat!!🙈I am now in the poor 🏡 😁but the artistry in So. Africa is amazing. The food scene is fantastic. We stayed in Seaside right across the Mojo food Mall, and we stuffed our behinds big-time there. In Durban we stayed in Umhalanga and had a Café & Vida joint right across the 🏩 . We flipped and now Durban is on my list of fav cities. Loved the vibe of CPT, the SA English accent is great, Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula were outstanding. It was a bit nippy at night but quite lovely and sunny for 2 days. We did get a bit of drizzle in the last 2 days, but not bad at all, as we even took the gandola up Table Mountain and when it is bad, they close the ride. Yes So. Africa does have a lot of similarities to 🇵🇹, and it values our courageous maritime forefathers more than we do. We had a wonderful black So. African say during the tour that Bartolomeu Dias and Vasco da Gama are national heroes in SA!! 😁😱Imagine that, we were touched, especially when we saw the markers, and the Cape itself took so many of our ships and our sailors to the depths of the ocean,😥we paid our respects. Just let Omar know we thought of him (and you, of course) and we 😍 the fact he grew up with a little of Portuguese flavor in SA, we just didn't meet any of our compadres while there. The only "bad" thing was the grueling 36 hours it took getting there, and another 36 to come back, but we will return for sure. Omar must take u home to SA soon. Much love to u both and keep up the great work. 🙏 😊 😘🌹🇵🇹❤️🇿🇦

    If you’re looking for a deep rich tea for your mason, try to find Yorkshire Tea, from the UK. They also make Yorkshire Gold, but I prefer just Yorkshire. It’s delicious! ❤️🇨🇦

    Can't believe you guys haven't made a composting bin to use on your land. Dont need to buy compost. Just make it from all kitchen scraps and grass. Anything organic, really

    • @TheIndigoEscape
      @TheIndigoEscape  Год назад +4

      don’t think you have been watching from the start as that was one of our first projects. You can’t use compost right away, it needs to cure which takes minimum a year after filling it. Ours it’s not full yet.

      @@TheIndigoEscape that field wasnt used for over 20 years, that soil is rich from all the natural composting of the weeds.
