Its Saj from Jap Performance Parts, great video Ollie. I was being very gentle breaking the bad news, I didn't want to break you heart! Don't worry we will help you get this WRX back up to its original condition.
Hindsight is 20/20 but this really emphasizes the importance of a proper inspection before signing on the dotted line. Good to see your effort getting this great car back in good working order to pound the streets.
Hey Ole, I had a 2003 WRX. it is a great platform. to achieve safe 360 WHP, what is did, upgrade bearings, upgrade turbo to FP HTA86 Turbo, upgrade injectors, upgrade intercooler, upgrade exhaust to a full turbo back system, Oil cooler and total intake system and you are good. I also did a full whiteline bushing upgrade and perrin rear lower strut brace and adjustable suspenion for immacuate handling. I also got a set of STi Brembo Brakes to ensure that I can stop
By the way Ollie, Jimmy Broadbent says you just gotta meet him a Brands Hatch if you wanna "race" his Supra! HOW AMAZING would that content be?!?!?!! That video would be HUGE.........
The rust is an unpleasant surprise but given the foreword knowledge of it I bet you would make the same purchase! That boxer rumble is just too satisfying to look away. Welcome to the clan 🤘👊
If frames is good, go on mate, all in, youll have a great journey working on that car to get it where you want it to be, but at the end, your dream will come true and even better!! Build, not bought!! Thx for sharing this with us!! Love it!!!
I'd still put money on that car living by the coast for a decent time in its recent past. The unfortunate thing about cars like these is they became cheap enough to buy for many people, but the running and maintenance costs never come down by much to match - it's the same for some older sports ansd luxury cars. In terms of future spending, if you love the car, and have no interest in selling it, then crack-on! I have an 04 plated R53 Cooper S that cost me £1400 just over a year ago - It's a bit rough, with 110k on the clock, but I love it! So far I've spent just short of £2k maintaining and improving her, and I'll probably spend that again before I even touch the engine and gearbox - it's all part of the fun! :)
Having seen the Hoovies Garage video of the Subaru Baja this doesn’t surprise me. Also previous experience of 2 MX5s both mechanically brilliant but underneath sooooo crusty.
Damn son, where'd you find that? There was more exhaust to blow hot air than you 😜. Glad these guys stepped up to help save something you dreamed of owning. Awesome job for a good bloke. Up the Saints, mate!
Wow it’s lucky that car has you. You love it so it will live on. I still say it’s been in salt water. If you can’t get it road registered you can always have a great track car 😎
Ollie personally I would swap stock exhaust for something 2.5",there are several good exhausts which you can choose, for 350-400bhp any good 2.5" exhaust will be okay WRX are known for being quite rusty, went through the same oj our JDM Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon as well, where we are replaced almost everything and at the end wish we got STI,don't do same mistake as we done Ollie Replace what you can and enjoy the car,if you are good with spanners its easy to work on the Subaru Stock STI headers or maybe ported headers from AS Performance will be great add there VF34 or VF35 with 550cc injectors from STI and get it mapped and you should see easy 330-350bhp I can vouch for Slowboy Racing which is literally opposite of Brands Hatch,he was done all work on our Subaru Best of luck Ollie 👍
If you can get it all sorted mate for a fair price then go for it. I've regretted selling cars in the past cuz I couldn't be bothered to put a bit of money into keeping them going. Had a lovely Clio sport that needed some TLC but I sold it for like 1400 quid. Should have spent a grand or so on her and then she'd have been mint for at least 3 to 5 years.
If that’s their time attack car they should know Norris designs , they built my time attack evo 😎👌🏻 engine was rated 1000bhp also 6 speed full sequential box etc .. was fun times building it 😂 good luck with it all 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏼
No, not the worst, but still a lot more to spend. Looks like a 20 year old car missing a lot of maintenance. Once it is done, should be a lot cheaper/safer/nicer. And JPP look like they know what they are doing in a no BS manner. (Supra in background shot - also 20+ years old, pretty expensive these days, almost up to their release list price for some models.)
I would leave it gonna cost a fortune getting it road legal. And you will be spending more money every 6 months to a year to get it through its next mot
Unfortunately it looks like you bought one that has been sitting in low tide at the beach for 6 months. Whomever checked this car out for you needs glasses, possibly even eyeballs.

Give a shop $100 to check it thoroughly before purchase...
love seeing the cost of it all in the most honest way possible, keep up the good work and can't wait to see how this scooby progresses!
Cheers David!
Love that sound at the end! Loving the journey of this car and can't wait to see her all spiffed up!

@@BasicOllie sure did, I asked him during his live stream and he happened to see the message, he replied with that

Seems reasonable for everything they did. I bet it feels great to have all that replaced
Yeah it does but still lots to do!

It is yes!
Really like this vlog, great content progress regarding the Scooby.
Can't wait for it to be a proper car on the tracks!!😍

You too roderick!
Good to see the car is now safe, hope it all goes well. Did you see Jimmy's Supra there?
Yes and his r32!
Having seen the Hoovies Garage video of the Subaru Baja this doesn’t surprise me. Also previous experience of 2 MX5s both mechanically brilliant but underneath sooooo crusty.
You need to check rear strut area .
If the rust is that bad elsewhere that could be really bad
Saj is a real one ❤
Must have just missed you. Thats my evo 7 at 1:45. Dropped it off the same day 😂
That level of rust is insane. Do they put salt on the roads in the UK in the winter or something?
Lol yeah we do
You nailed it
Nice content olli
You could build a Scooby from the ground up lol
The business will flood that place thanks to you ol boy!!

Looks like it drives around. Never mind all the rust it part of the experience of owning a Subaru!
nice rebuild
When the race against jimmers Supra?
The real question is:
Can you drift it? Given it has a wheel, you know.
We have been shown the mancave of the century
Between you and Jimmy Broadbent, this guy is getting a lot of air time
As much as I love Subaru's they're rust buckets. my 04 Legacy GT wagon was the best vehicle ive ever owned. I still miss it :(
cool vid buddy
brake guys charge like 550 $ to turn 2 rotors here if im not mistaken & thats 30 years ago
Hmmmmm, thats a familiar mechanic :)
79p a day keeps the Scooby OK!
Just seats... sitting around ..... I see what you did there Ollie 😏

Think he would do any work on a BMW E30?
Can’t see why not!
Despite all the rust you're making me want another Japanese car again 🤣😩
It's what is usually described as "a Shitheap".
I would leave it gonna cost a fortune getting it road legal. And you will be spending more money every 6 months to a year to get it through its next mot
Yeah I shall be careful with how much I spend on it
Brilliant move this if you ask me.
"M.O.T."... Ministry of Transportation?? Of course in the U.S. we have the D.O.T., Department of Transportation..
£75 per hour. Jesus 🤬
I heard this blokes mortgage is paid entirely by RUclipsrs and their beaten up Japanese cars 🤣
Oliver lesson number one look under your car before you buy it.🤑🤑
Sim racers never look under cars unless we crash
As roadmen say: clapped wip
🤣🤣

Glasses needed
Should of bought a Dacia Sandero 😉
GOOD NEWS!
Subuwu just needs some uwu from youwu.
