Nice cover, and about the guitar solo...this is a very close interpretation, considering Kerry King solos. (play once in studio, never played again in the same way live...). The Jeff part, was very close, I just missed the last harmonic. The details are amazing, the double voices are correct, drums are very close to Dave Style (gong included). C'mon guys, this is not a easy thing to do, considering all the "Tribute" albums out there, this is an amazing version.

+Andres Moore actually when doing a cover, the point is not to sound exact, or else what's the point. if you really think about it, what are you trying to accomplish by sounding exact? although this cover was real good and sounded real the same... it's like at that point, that's when people start to critisize, which is what your doing right now. however imagine if the solos were different, what is there critisize? nothing cause it's different. it's their own way.
I have my own band, and personally when i do a cover, i would rather be criticized on MY way of playing, and my tone, versus how i sound exact with the other band.

@@dinostacherules2728 Agreed completely. My parents have warmed up to metal over time because of me playing it, but they just can't do Slayer. They'll do a good amount of death metal, but Slayer still makes them uncomfortable. I've always said that they have an "evil vibe" that can't really be explained

Amazing cover! "Seasons In The Abyss" is my favorite Slayer song of all time (and I'm not even a big fan of Slayer), so I got rather excited when I came across this, since Stone Sour's one of my fave bands and they've done great covers. I almost prefer this over the original! Almost because they're tied XD

"Lithium" is a good track, but I think that "Breed" and or "School" would be a better fit for his vocal style... but then again he could go in the opposite direction and cover something like "Polly". ^__^ \m/

To everyone complaining about the vocals, corey is literally doing what Tom Araya is doing on tape. They're different vocalists, so they're going to sound different. As someone who takes a lot of vocal inspiration from Corey, I will tell you that Corey's rougher vocals wouldn't go well with slayer
This cover is an excellent compliment to the original. Other bands ruin covers by dropping too low and trying to change the music to fit their style 100%. Great job. I like it.
My best friend mayla always covers this song she loves it.Of course shes a huge fan of corey taylor like i am. After her introducing me to stonesour im a fan of both bands now. I like the pace to this song & the lyrics so i can see why its her favorite song.

Kind of disappointed with the vocals. Corey should've done a more angrier approach. It's like slayer went glam vocally.
It's not bad by any means, but I do agree that I, too, was disappointed. But it's hard to cover, so all and all, he pulled it off pretty nicely, even if I expected more.

About as close as it could get to the original, minus the vocals though. Tom Araya adds a certain loudness to the vocal part of slayer's sound signature, making his singing style almost inimitable.

Actually it is a very good Slayer cover in Stone Sour style. Covers are always there to sound slightly different, that's what it makes it interesting to listen to. Personally, i like it.
