I have just started watching your channel , as a carpenter for the last 45 years I admire your determination , fun to watch you doing your thing ! Two thumbs up .
Hi Tiff, it looked like you were putting more pressure on the back of your hand stapler when the staples came out wonky, and when you put more pressure on the front keeping it parallel to your surface they seemed to come out better. Maybe do it more intentionelly next time and see if it makes it better 🤔 Ps I really enjoy watching your videos 😁
A+ for effort. You will learn by your mistakes. I can’t lie though this series is the first one I’ve watched and have had many chuckles along the way. Good luck with your journey and hope this bathroom turns out how you envision it. **warning** Please go buy a proper respirator. Your lungs are too important to your health and that drywall mud dust is no joke.
hey just a little bit of advice for ya, what's happening with the staples is you're lifting the front of the stapler up when you're applying pressure to it. Something that would help that out, is to clamp the piece to your bench to give you stability, that way you aren't fighting with the stapler AND the piece you're working with. also, good job with the mitering! I was redoing my window trim and I messed up so many times I had to go back to the store and buy more trim. I can build a house from the ground up, but I can't cut at a 45 degree angle XD I will DEFINITELY be doing test cuts in the future
I just love you. I'm 69 started at 9yrs.old taking apart putting together, my mom wasn't happy but I went on to woodworking still doing it still making mistakes. You got this keep up the good work.
I love it - I don't like it ha ha that intro already had me laughing lol - It looks so fabulous and just like the store one - it's all coming together gawjuss :)
Love your choice of music for this video. I had google search for the title and added it to my playlist. Thank you for that as well as the fun makeover content.
I think the black taps look so modern. They're lovely and will go perfectly with the black brackets on the shelves. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result. Love from the UK 🇬🇧
Looks absolutely great! You are doing a fantastic job! I see that you’ve been posting videos for about five years on and off. I’m thankful that you post regularly now and I believe your channel will really take off. You’ve got a great personality and people want to watch Your show!
The best thing about Thursday 1) one day closer to Friday 2) a new video from Tiff! You girls are killin it! Struggles with staple guns are real! They're made for giant man-hands, not girls like us. When i built my screened in porch, I did some research into the easiest to use/depress, the Stanley TR150 is the way to go! I have 5) 5ft tall windows, thats a lot of damn staples! Best purchase ever. Looking forward to the next video, the frame turned out great!
I’m floored by how well the mirror frame turned out! And shout out to Toni for her editing skills-the renaissance music while you were painting the frame was a great touch😄 I’ll never get over the fact that Misty isn’t your dog!🤣She loves being around you
I think the cupboard should have been a darker green! Like a deep, dark jungle green. And then the counter top should be a deeper brown stained wood to match the frame.
Just caught up on this series, been great to watch! I suggest swapping out the cabinet knob to a matte black that matches the faucet for a more cohesive look as well. If you get a black tension shower rod as well, when the curtain is drawn it will hide the silver shower fixtures and look pretty good.
Welcome to the world of picture framing! So what you need to join your moulding is a Cassese underpinner. I used to work at a custom frame shop. You did good for what you had. I think your problem was that the paint you put on after you spray painted it darkened it too much. Next time, try the paint diluted with half water.
Girl you make me laugh so hard! FL has some big bugs…so doesTX so I am right there with you! You have done an amazing job on this guest bathroom! I’m so glad you popped up in my feed. I look forward to watching your older videos and getting current with your new projects! 🦋
I love how you did everything yourself. In my opinion, the color of the faucet and the cabinet knob need to match and need to be either gold or brass or bronze.
I am glad the glass part of the mirror didn't give you any trouble, last thing you and Toni need is 15 years of bad luck. That bug though scared the heck out of me too (normally I'm not too scared of bugs but when I see something Ive never seen before or something that looks like a smaller breed of insect but it's 10 times larger I freak.) it also reminded me of an old cancelled series back in the 90's where there was this parasite that looked like a mosquito of steroids and the size of a dragon fly. and these and one stung this kid in the neck. the plot never made much sense hence I never got into it but when That insect thing was on screen it was scary...and this was on Nickelodeon of all places! I do agree that an extra coat did help with the frame at the end when you first added it to the mirror it looked more brown but that extra coat helped a lot.
1) Velcro pads would work very well to secure that mirror frame! And the bonus would be you could change it out whenever you felt like it. 2) You just need another very light coat of gold over the antiqueing and the color should be perfect. The brown paint you used had too much red in it. (And now I see you did this! \o/ ) 3) I would have made the frame a bit wider.
Isn't it crazy how mitred corners can trip you up? I did crown moulding in our living room with a double mitre. OMG, I don't know how many tries it took me to get it right, lol. Looks great. Can't wait for Thursday.
I was thinking when you were struggling with the clamps that maybe you could clamp to the table. Would that work to hold things still while you're trying to staple?
It's looking really good. The mirror turned out really pretty, sorry you had to go through so many tries to get it perfect. Rub n' buff, may have been an option for antiquing, I've seen others use it with good results. Question - why didn't you inset a medicine cabinet for extra storage? May have been able to find one close to the cost of the mirror, just curious. The countertop looks really good, works so well with the sink & love the cabinet color.
Thank you! I’m not a big fan of medicine cabinets. I think they are bulky but there might be some inset modern ones out there. My goal was not removing the mirror it’s glued to the wall 🙃
@@diytiff - didn't realize the mirror was glued to the wall. I have an inset medicine cabinet, it only extends an inch into the room, sits in between the studs; has a 1"wood frame around the mirror. They make really nice ones now compared to the old metal ones from back in the day.
The only thing you could have done to make it more "high end" would have been to match the trim pattern at the mitered corners, but that's just me armchair quarterbacking. I'm not even cleaning my bathroom, much less tackling a reno of it! You rock!
All gold trimmings are tacky. Black looks classy. Mirror ended up a muted gold. Bright gold tends to be too much. Looks garish. End result was cohesive and tied all the elements together.
I don't know anything. This question literally comes from ignorance. Why couldn't you spray some paint into a cup and then brush it onto the frame while it was in place?
Thanks for Watching! Next video in the series will be next Thursday :)

I have a suggestion for a channel slogan "I thought it would be simple" :P sorry but it made me giggle
😂

I think just switching the nob on the cabinet to a black nob would tie it all together
Tiff you are becoming my favourite RUclipsr you make me laugh so much😂I think you did a great job on the frame well done ❤❤
Those naps be giving ALL the solutions! Lolol
Use a black knob on the cabinet and add accessories to pull it together.
lol I don’t know what it is about those naps but yes! I can usually think better after 😂😂😂
Really cool project! You need to stop giving me ideas for my house, I already have too much 😂
I think the black taps look so modern. They're lovely and will go perfectly with the black brackets on the shelves.
I'm looking forward to seeing the end result. Love from the UK 🇬🇧
The nob on the cabinet door should match the faucets!

I still can't believe Misty is not your pup! Love seeing her ❤
I totally understand the bug panic. If something like that touched me I would totally freak out!
😆

I love the way everything is coming together. You do such great work & it’s helping me decide to redo my bathroom as well. Thank you
It may be frustrating at times, but you never quit, my friend, and I'm proud of you
The mirror turned out beautiful
Girl you make me laugh so hard! FL has some big bugs…so doesTX so I am right there with you! You have done an amazing job on this guest bathroom! I’m so glad you popped up in my feed. I look forward to watching your older videos and getting current with your new projects! 🦋
😆 thank you!
Tiff you had me cracking up. Sorry you were struggling but I couldn't stop laughing with the stapling stuff. Live your channel
😁
I am impressed!
Doing a dark stain or paint with rub n buff works very well for the antique look
That mirror frame looks great! Good choices.
P.S. nice simple jig for the miter saw, keeping the cuts clean and much easier to accurately line up your cuts. Great job on that
Thanks!
This is so amazing! I love seeing your process as you figure stuff out. The nap break was key!
I just found ur channel. I'm all caught up & looking forward to the next vid. ✌️
Your videos are great. They are so well filmed and how you present what you do is interesting.Really charming.
Love how this turned out!! Can't wait to see the finished bathroom!!
Thanks! Soon very soon I’m trying to finish up this week 😁
I love your attention to detail
Everything looks great. I love the mirror frame
I gotta shout it. YOU ARE IMPRESSIVE.!! 👏👏👏
Thanks 😄
Girl living this project with you has played with my blood press but you DID THAT! YOU go Girl! ❤
The mirror frame is very Marie Antoinette. Love it! If you don’t like it maybe a large round black mirror.
Good job gilr! I love to watch the process ❤️
Thank you ❤️
Thanks ☺️
I love how you did everything yourself. In my opinion, the color of the faucet and the cabinet knob need to match and need to be either gold or brass or bronze.
I so enjoy watching your video's Love your humor and your eye for detail. You don't settle for the easy way out. I would!
It came together so nice! Great job!
Thank you! 😊

What happened to the after footage of the makeover this bathroom under $500.
Hi the last video is going to be published tomorrow or Friday depending on when we’re done editing it. See you soon :)
Change the knob on the door to a similar color to the frame
1) Velcro pads would work very well to secure that mirror frame! And the bonus would be you could change it out whenever you felt like it. 2) You just need another very light coat of gold over the antiqueing and the color should be perfect. The brown paint you used had too much red in it. (And now I see you did this! \o/ ) 3) I would have made the frame a bit wider.
I was thinking the same thing about the size of the frame. It is a tad too thin.
Isn't it crazy how mitred corners can trip you up? I did crown moulding in our living room with a double mitre. OMG, I don't know how many tries it took me to get it right, lol. Looks great. Can't wait for Thursday.
Thanks! I’ve never done crown molding, and it terrifies me lol I’m sure I’ll get to do it at some point
Great outcome. New subscriber. I noticed you didn't list the light you are using. Could you please share the link
Loving the makeover. Just found your channel, subbed.
Ahhh! I needed this today! Thank you! ❤❤❤❤❤
You’re welcome 😁
Love your videos ~👍🏼🙌🏼 Thanks for sharing.
The mirror should be higher to be cohesive with the height of the faucet, that’s what throws it off .
I wish I could move it or even get a smaller mirror but my goal was to not move it. It’s glued to the wall
WHEN in doubt do white or black.
The only thing you could have done to make it more "high end" would have been to match the trim pattern at the mitered corners, but that's just me armchair quarterbacking. I'm not even cleaning my bathroom, much less tackling a reno of it! You rock!
lol thanks I would have tried it wasn’t because it had to be a specific size so I think one way or another it would have mismatch somewhere:)
its the black hardware. you need to tie the black in more
Thanks I will be doing all the towel holders and stuff in black also :)
You need to hold the stapler level.
The mirror could be placed more to the left.
Black mirror
Maybe you need to invest in a nail gun. Love watching you work
The faucet is in wrong color.
The black faucet needs to be changed.
Gold taps would have looked better match the mirror and knob on door plus a gold toilet roll holder
All gold trimmings are tacky. Black looks classy. Mirror ended up a muted gold. Bright gold tends to be too much. Looks garish. End result was cohesive and tied all the elements together.
Absolutely not. lol. Mixed metal look is fantastic
New subscriber and big fan of your channel already! Fantastic!!
Went for snacks came home with paint
What kind of bug was that omg, scared the shit out of me when I saw it
I was a dragonfly lol
That wasp didn't sting you, did it? 5 years ago, I got stung by a wasp, twice in 2 days
Mirror should have been black!
I hate bugs
I think the frame is too small needs to be larger
I don't know anything. This question literally comes from ignorance. Why couldn't you spray some paint into a cup and then brush it onto the frame while it was in place?
Too tedious for me at the time I would have had to cover the mirror or be very careful 😬
The faucet is too "farm house" looking against the gold.
