Typically honest no bullshit review Mark , I’ve never used any Auto Finesse products before and I have to say it looks a very average product to me ,one product I would recommend is HDD Road Rage I completed a 1400 mile road trip in the south of England this summer in 36 degree heat ,bugs were well baked on and Road Rage at 5 to 1 done a great job ,looking forward to the next video ,keep er lit big man 👏👏👏
I've heard a lot about Road Rage Jim, in fact HDD Brake Through used to be my favourite wheel shampoo before I tried the Garage Therapy one. As for this one, average is exactly the word. It's the first Auto Finesse product I've ever tried and if I hadn't already bought a few to try (as you could see at the end!) It possibly would've been the last. But we'll see if the others can recover their reputation in my eyes over the next few weeks. Continued support is still much appreciated sir 👍🏼✊🏼
Great review. Also found it being a citrus based, it’s also good for cleaning car badges, door jambs, trim etc. So it also has that multi-purpose use for the product. I managed to clean out my cousins door jambs, and looking to give it another run, when the weathers good enough, to clean my mothers car 🙌
It's all about finding a good use for products isn't it. I thought this was maybe a little weak as a bug remover when used as I stricted but it definitely has its uses elsewhere 👍🏼👍🏼
I’ve heard mixed things about AF but I’ve boiled it down to; if you buy into the brand image then you’ll love them, but if you go off the products performance there’s better for the money. Loving the series 👍🏻
Cheers for another informative video Mark. It's funny, I've never been tempted by auto finese. I wonder if that's because I've not seen much of it on RUclips, none of the detailers I see are using their products, so consequently I'm not buying. My shelves are littered with many brands, all of which I've seen given glowing reviews, I'm not a brand fan, I'm a fan of what works. Needless to say, I'm not going to rush out for that RTU bug remover from AF.
First time I've ever tried them but I know quite a lot of people who love them. Mind you, most are driveway guys who enjoy taking pride in their cars and shop in Halfords - that's not in any way me being disrespectful, I just mean I guess different people like different things. They clearly have their place but they haven't made a good first impression with me unfortunately.
Hi Mark, always difficult to judge this type of product on an un protected car. However its a product I have used in the past but wouldn't spend money on it again. Keep the series going mate
@@jimmyputtputt Hello mate, been a busy and difficult summer, all ok now but been busy on the bike and a few home projects. Also been giving the channel a lot of thought. Hope to be back soon
As you know bro, I’ve been using this for 2+ years, it’s part of my standard safe wash routine. I would always leave it to dwell. I actually spray it on the car after initial PW blast, then apply snowfoam on top. Then when i rinse snowfoam off I’m removing both. I find the 5-10 min dwell removes 90% of the bugs and very little effort is needed to remove the remainder
I wasn't blown away compared with some of the other products I've used... But... Just watch next weeks' video... You might find it very interesting 👌🏼👍🏼🤐
It definitely had a lot more impact that way - I know I did highlight that the car had no protection, a dedicated bug remover should be concentrated enough to cope with that scenario without the need for contact... Well that's my opinion anyway! It wasn't the worst product ever or anything, but I certainly wasn't blown away! I will definitely use it again though, watch this space lol 👍🏼
Yip, it is indeed - I'll maybe try it in the future and it will probably fare better in a test - unfortunately in this video I was testing a pre-diluted derivative of Dynamite, Citrus Power... And the 'Ready To Use' product performed as most RTU pre-wash products do, rather disappointingly
It was touch and go mate... I'm gonna give it another try... Definitely not blown away just yet but maybe it'll work better combined with something else ... Next week might be interesting 🤔🤔🤐🤐
Definitely teetering on the edge of the bin this one, agree it did work in a fashion but it's just too expensive because it's rtu and non dilutable. I have used it before and found the same results as you, didn't use it on my ming mirrors tho 🤣 Keep up the good work sir 👍🏻
Great video, but like many in the comments I’m not a fan of Auto finesse,I bought this from Halfords cause I ran out of my usual citrus and I threw jt away, the only product worth buying is Triple 👌🏻
Tripple will be tested very soon so I'll see if it lives up to expectations but this was far from impressive. I know plenty of people who rave about Auto Finesse and others who have nothing good to say. I always like to make up my own mind but this was far from a good first impression!
@@SparkleanAutos yeah I like tripple, great polish you will love it goes on with ease and buffs off even easier… AF are the stylish version of EZ car care 😂
As far as bug removers are concerned Autoglanz bug off is great shame you can’t dilute it as for this AF citrus looks like you have to use a lot of product to actually breakdown the baked on bug splats for me it’s a bit of a binner Mark great test mate
Lunch break viewing for me today! I've used this before and didn't really rate it as good as others. However even before agitation it still looked to do a decent enough job. Have to wonder if layered with a foam for a slight longer dwell time may have been just the ticket. I like their dillutable version dynamite though. Class content though mate as always.
Got to agree with Nick, need a VAR decision on that. I kind of feel, putting agitate with a soft brush on the instructions is cheating a bit, I expected more from a RTU product if I'm honest.
Hard to disagree with you Dave ... But that's the whole point of this series, a quick test based on what is printed on the bottle 🤷🏻♂️🤣 It's place isn't cemented just yet, that shelf doesn't have a retention period, it could still be binned yet 🤣🤣
RTU citrus again! 😤 just like I said on the Carbon Collective one , not something I’d buy again, I’ve used the AF citrus before and although I didn’t use on bugs, it didn’t remove any grime at all from a black car , very disappointed in it I’d have binned it 😊
Well I have to play this game by my own rules and when I followed the instructions, the bugs were removed... Just not as effortlessly as I'd expect and certainly not good enough to warrant buying again! I'm gonna try it again but perhaps in a different way, stay tuned lol 👍🏼🙂
I think you were wise to deem it a winner, if only just. Unprotected and two month old bug guts was at the upper so it deserved a second chance. Maybe.
Thought the was going to topple off the shelf into the bin... yet to find a dedicated bug remover that actually does what it's supposed to... and tbh should have done a separate application and agitation as opposed to a second hit... much better results using the likes of GT Zero or AG Spritzer
Had this been a product review Jon that's exactly what I would've done but this series is all about how the ordinary person would find this product, going by what was written on the side. I'm not a fan of 'bug removers' etc as, like you say, a decent APC or pre-wash can do all those tasks with a variable dilution. This product was far from being impressive but it wasn't completely useless and that's what the bin's for lol - I'll be using it again and if I don't find a decent use for it, it will grace the bin soon enough 👍🏼
Good video. I have to say it isn't a product I particularly like. It's expensive and not particularly good for the purpose it states. I appreciate your channel is aimed at reviews on products, so it is beneficial for people interested in this product to gain an understanding as to how it performs. If anyone is looking at something that actually works and has bite - Koch Chemie Green Star at 10:1 is something they should consider. Only draw back is it's alkaline in nature, so there is a chance it will degrade any wax that has been applied. In my view, I'd rather make that sacrifice to ensure all contaminants (road film and bugs) are removed prior to contact washing. In any case, with the availability of spray on sealants (CARPRO Hydro2 Lite, Gyeon Wet coat etc), it is easy enough to re-top up any protection that might have degraded.
Cannot disagree with a single word you've said! I'm a big fan of the Koch Chemie range, as a matter of fact Green Star is going to be featuring on this quick test series of videos within the next few weeks so that's great information for me 👍🏼 As for this one, it's actually the first Auto Finesse product I've ever tried - and only for the fact I bought a few at the same time I wouldn't be rushing back to buy any more. Maybe the others will do a better job, who knows. Thanks again for the feedback and taking the time to leave a comment, they're all appreciated 👍🏼
I'm the same - Massive fan of the Koch Chemie product range (compounds included). Believe me, you will not be disappointed with Green Star. Having been through a number of Auto Finesse products, the only ones I can say are any good are: Tripple (AIO polish), Satin (Tyre dressing).
